Very welcoming and comfortable dining experience and the servers were the best. So helpful and patient. We started with the Duck Bao Buns(Do IT!!) and the TomYum Soup( spicy - like a rush, spicy). Next was the spicy Sexy girl roll, tempura fried lobster and spicy tuna on a pink soy roll. DELICIOUS!! We shared the Chirashi and the Spicy tuna Gyoza for dinner. Please don't go anywhere else for dessert. Try the tempura cheesecake (BTS,...) and the tempura fried green ice cream. What I appreciate as a topping is all of their plates, bowls and even the soy container were modern and classy. Small secret here in south Jersey. Please try them out. They do DOORDASH also. Enjoy!!

And, when it's lunch time that inner voice continues clarifying its longing LUNCH SPECIAL and so you make the call. I actually went to Sushi Express's easy to use website while I was in line at Lowe's! Yes, you can navigate through the many choices on the menu quickly and conveniently! Two roll lunch special please ... before my hardware purchase was completed I had ordered and paid for my sushi lunch. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and handed my completed order. Frankly you don't go to Sushi Express for their non-appealing customer reception area because it's all about take out! My two rolls were so fresh you could almost hear the ocean. The fish had that clean taste you want with precise cuts in each roll. The Miso Soup was magnificent in its simplicity!! Full of flavor and packed with wakame! So, if you are in the Deptford area and you get that inner calling for sushi and you're on the run, there's no better place than Sushi Express!

I'd have to say my favorites were the fried calamari, the braised pork belly, the salt and pepper shrimp (HUGE) and the sesame balls. I'd come back just for those! Inside everything was bright and clean, seating was comfortable. We ordered sodas, and there was no extra charge for that. Service was pretty attentive, though tipping for a buffet starting at 15% gets on my nerves.

Probably like us, they wanted to take advantage of freshly made food. I'm a seafood lover so the I hit the shrimp first. The salt and pepper whole shrimp were huge and really tasty. Definitely my favorite dish. The seafood casserole and stuffed mushrooms also hit the spot. Also loved the huge chunks of pork belly which were tender and had a great marinade. Other favorites were the sesame balls and free boba drinks in many flavors. I only tried the California roll because I am not a fan of raw fish. I thought it was a good lunchtime deal for $18.99.

Enoki and egg soup is my favorite appetizer. Light broth with umami and perfect saltiness. My second favorite appetizer is agedashi tofu. So silky like pudding with light teriyaki broth. Beef roll up with scallions: beef is tender with some kind of sweet teriyaki sauce. It's pretty good. Eggplant filled with ground chicken. It looks appealing but unfortunately a bit too greasy. The sushi here is very special. The sushi rice is silky and moist. The fish piece is bigger than the rice. The eel is a must try here. It's very big compared to the rice underneath it. It very flavorful too. Mt entree is steamed salmon with seafood broth. I recommend squirting the lemon to the broth to make it taste like yuzu sauce as it lightens the whole dish and makes it less fishy.

As if tips were mandatory. For two people almost 100. Dollars a total scam. I would never go back to a place like this where everyone puts their hands in the food and on top of that they charge you as if it were an à la carte restaurant. I only ate several things because not everything is food that you know to pay such an exaggerated price. On top of that, the workers see you all the time, it even bothers them if you serve yourself a large amount as if you were not going to pay it and they are almost on top of you so that you go ahead as soon as they see you choosing the dessert and on your table is the bill.

Servers were all nice but they change real quick if you dont tip at the end of the meal. ( we will get back to this.) Now for the bad. The food is regular Chinese buffet food. Not bad not great . With that said charging $50 per person for the dinner on a weekend is insane. (If I'm paying that I want a Fogo de Chao. ) Not only is it that per person than they charge a % for a tip that goes to the servers and cooks.
