Great ambience and showcasing regarding the hibachi element! I adored the flames reaching up so high. Our waiter was such a nice gentleman and so speedy. The shrimp tempura cooked rolls were huge and so nice. The masago in the Crunchy Rolls were amazing!! The first time I've tried masago ever. The kids shared Hibachi Chicken Shrimp combo and they totally loved it! We had Cheese Crab Rangoon's and it was such a creamy fried wonton that nicely balanced with the sweet sauce for the perfect appetizer. Will definitely come back again!! If you're coming for Hibachi service, be prepared to wait on weekends (30-45min) read more

It is the first time that we had hibachi, it is really good . The chef did the great show , the food is soooooo good, we really enjoy it . Before the hibachi, we also ordered some sushi roll, it is the best sushi roll I had, the volcano roll and spicy tuna dumpling are our favorite. About the staff here is also very friendly:) I love here and I will come back definitely. read more

If I could give 0 stars... the owner or the guy who stands behind the register at the front of the restaurant has absolutely no training in good customer service. I will never return! The Japanese restaurant in Peachtree City is much better. read more

Wow! I really enjoyed this location versus other ones I've been to around the Atlanta area. They have great and entertaining cooks here. They are also generous with the portions for hibachi and the sushi is good. AMBIANCE: I noticed that it was nice and spacious compared to the other locations I've been to. The place looks clean. Can't complain! FOOD: We sat down at the hibachi grill and had a great time while eating a well prepared meal. They had an early bird special (Mon-Fri from 4:30 pm to 6pm I believe) so a lot of the sushi were 50% off. We got the Volcano roll and the California roll, both of which were fresh and yummy! For hibachi, I got the steak and scallops for $20 and my cousin got the steak and shrimp for $18. They way the cook seasoned our food was soooo good and packed with flavor. Two thumbs up! I like that they give you extra yummy yummy sauce to-go if you can't finish your food (even without us having to ask for it). Great service! Next time I am around the Newnan area I would definitely stop in for another delicious and entertaining meal! read more

The food and service was Excellent but the place needs a little of remodeling or a lot of cleaning because it's looking a little bad but the food was really good and full of flavor , definitely coming back . read more

My son and I used to go to this place often. The last few times we have been there it's been off. My son orders the same thing every time he goes there. Hibachi chicken and steak. They forgot the chicken so they said we can cook some in the back and bring it out. I said ok that's fine but then when the bill came they charged me for it claiming they gave him a full steak at the hibachi table which was untrue. The lady argued with me and was very rude. I also gave an additional tip and didn't notice they added 18% gratuity just for 2 people. We will never go back there again. The food was awful as well not the same as it used to be and there was a funky smell at the table. Very disappointing to say the least. read more

Just ok. Nothing to write home about. Almost not worth wasting my time on this review. I have been here before and had better food but noting that jumps out at me. I ordered the chicken udon soup and it was about the most bland thing I have ever eaten. It came out so hot it was impossible to eat without burning my mouth. Lesson learned. I will never waste my money on this again. Service was slow. It took forever to get our water glass refilled. Not a good experience. read more

This place is awful!!! I hate to leave bad reviews but this calls for one! First off I have a son who can't have pepper, onions or anything spicy so I ask the server if I could possibly have it cooked to the side??? He says NO WERE COOKING IT IN THE BACK. I SAID if I'm paying for hibachi I'm not having it cooked in the back. Anyway... as the food is being prepared the cook was as sweet as can be an cooked it the way it needed to be. The food there isn't good at the all. The rice was just blah, the chicken was tough as bricks, the soup has a weird twang flavor, An the salad had gross looking cucumbers!!! Glad I won't be going back here. A bonus- the table was disgusting The grill was dirty The sauce trays were filthy NASTY read more

Love the food and the staff. They take awesome care of their patrons. Hibachi is fantastic! Sushi is great also. Sushi bar is the place to hang out! read more

I arrived at Tokyo at 9:47 pm, 01/09/2020. When I got there I waited for someone to seat me for over 5 minutes and no one ever came over so I walked to the service desk and the guy running the desk was immediately rude with me and asked "what do you need?". I said I was there to eat and wanted a booth and he told me that they were closed. I informed him that their website says they close at 10:30 and then he turned around and said that there was no food and they have ran out of all food for the night. He was very rude throughout the whole experience and I will NEVER be spending my money or time on this place ever again! read more

The Avocado ball (with spicy tuna inside) is a must try! I would say the sushi isn't comparable to what I have in LA, but they have a good amount of options, with hibachi options on the other side of the restaurant. Not a bad deal! read more

This is your typical Japanese, Hibachi restaurant. They cook in front of you. Ask for Chef Jacob. He was awesome. Very engaging & the food was food!!! read more

From the outside this place doesn't look like much, inside is no different, however I will say my family of 3 was seated quickly at the hibachi table and the we didn't have to wait long at all before our chef Jerome began our hibachi cooking/show. I had the chicken hibachi, my boyfriend the shrimp and chicken, and my son (a picky eater) had the steak. We were all very impressed with the taste of our meals..so much we came back for more hibachi the next day! read more

Hands down, the best sushi I've had while living in Georgia for the past two years!!!! I don't live in the area, but will absolutely come back while passing through. Highly recommend. read more

I generally like Tokyo, so I will give it two stars. However on this evening I walked in for a birthday party for 10-year-old, the host would not let us sit inside the restaurant. When we wanted to order appetizers and drinks for the people that were here. They informed me, the only adult that I could go to the bar to order drinks. That would leave the two children with me unaccompanied and dressed in Cub Scout uniforms after coming from a September 11 remembrance. The male host informed us to wait out into the lobby, and was Quite Rude. But the food and waitress was wonderful. lose the rude host. read more

Poor Customer Service! The food here is ok, but the customer service sucks. I placed a call in order today at 6:16pm. I was told that the order would take 20min. When I arrived 22 min later, 6:38pm, my food was not ready. No big deal. A gentleman placed his carry out order after I arrived. I watched him place his order, pay, and leave. His food was ready before mine! I received my food at 7:00pm!!! The manager did not apologize for the accessive wait time of 45 min for a carry out. She was rude actually. read more

We moved here a few months ago from Douglasville thinking that we would be able to find restaurant here in Newnan about the same as Duruma our favorite restaurant. Unfortunately I have given up after 2 visits. The food here at Tokyo was bland and very poor quality! The service was slow, yet we were rushed half way our meal by our server who twice interrupted our meal wanting to bring us take home containers even before we were done and not even offering a dessert! To pay over $100 for a dinner then feeling rushed out and no being offered a desert is very poor service! Next time I will drive over half an hour and go to Duruma in Douglasville! Thumbs down on this place! Do not recommend! read more

Great service. Our 6 yr old and 4 yr old enjoyed the "show". Great amount of food for the price. Steak and shrimp combo on the hibachi is really good. read more

Went for the hibachi experience. The service was mediocre and the food was subpar. Wish would have read previous reviews from this restaurant. Never Again! read more

This place is horrible. They served me three rolls with black avocado in them. They told me it was nothing wrong with that and it had just been sitting out. How can you not see something wrong with that? They made sure I brought the receipt and the food back to replace my meal. Of course I didn't eat this crap. But for my integrity to be questioned when the proof is in the food.....that insulted me. read more

Easily my wife's and my favorite restaurant. We eat here weekly. Sushi is excellent: consistent, clean and fresh. Salmon is some of the best I have had in any restaurant in the Atlanta area. We have also discovered the Black Dragon roll which often brings out the sushi chef's creativity with sauce designs and, one time, a dragon head carved from a carrot! This roll carries a punch with the pepper. Prices are good particularly if you take advantage of the many specials - half price roll afternoons and lunch roll specials. Food is never over salted. We like having control over salt. If you need more salt, there is plenty of soy sauce. :) And the staff is pleasant and attentive. Feels like eating Sushi at home. Highly Recommended! read more

Have been frequenting this place for 3 yrs. In all the time my wife and I have been going there, I don't believe we've ever gotten a heartfelt thank you or barely even a smile when we pick up our to-go orders. That's all ok as long as the food we typically ordered (sushi) was pretty good to very decent quality. The past few months though, we've noticed the quality of the sushi going down. Tonight we picked up an order that we frequently have and, frankly, it was nearly inedible. As per usual, after I paid for my order, I was just getting ready to say thank you but didn't to wait to see if I, the customer, would get a thank you. Of course I didn't & I just walked out the door and after eating our sushi I know that we will not be returning. read more

First and last time. Food was okay but service was horrible. Very dark atmosphere, very rushed, and impatient staff. I could get the same hibachi elsewhere with much better service. Nothing special about this experience. read more

cute sushi and hibachi restaurant, i've never had the hibachi experience but there's one chef i hear sometimes and he's really lively and entertaining. i always get at least two or three of the spicy salmon rolls, absolute classic. and their mushroom soup is really delicious too read more

Wish there was a zero cause I ordered food and I forgot to cancel cause I had to rush to the hospital for my brother and this guy called me asking where I was and I told him I'm so sorry but I can't pick it up and before I could explain he told me to go to hell . You will never see me go back up there that is aweful and imma tell everyone Ik what happened. read more

This used to be our goto place for rolls and hibachi. A little over a year ago we noticed a major staff change which made us wonder if ownership changed. During this time we have noticed the food quality and overall experience nose dive. Today was the final nail in the coffin. We ordered mushroom soup with tofu and four different rolls. The soup was flavorless and the tofu nearly nonexistent. The four rolls were just terrible. Nothing tasted fresh and two of them were so fishy tasting we decided not to eat them. We gave them more chances than we should've. We won't be back. read more

As a first time customer, I hate giving this place only two stars. The atmosphere was very inviting and the interior of the restaurant was okay. We sat in a both, as I wasn't in the mood for the communal grill experience. We both had the Habachi Steak & Chicken, and the Shrimp & Scallops. Our salads and Miso soup were both bland. The Ginger dressing needed a serious kick, Mustard based Ginger didn't work for me. The Miso soup was okay, but needed more Miso. All of the grilled items were okay, hot and fresh. The only problem was the Yum Yum dipping sauce was extremely bland. I googled a recipe when I got home for the left overs, and made that, which was much better. Not sure if I'd be a repeat customer, let alone a regular at this establishment. read more

Terrible service and quality of the food is not worth the price. 12 employees on the floor with 3 tables of customers. Took forever for anyone to even recognize we were there. Didn't get a refill until I had already eaten my entire meal. Hair in food. Not somewhere I want to spend $5 a plate let alone the $25/plate it actually costs. Don't waste your time. read more

My boyfriend and I went out for a nice date night. We usually go to Sumo's but they were closed. We showed up at Tokyo at 9:45 and immediately felt unwelcome by the hostess texting while we were needing to be seated. The waitress was obviously disturbed by something judging by her body language and tone of voice. My guess is they were mad we got there late but is an hour and fifteen minutes before they close late to them? The cook was very nice and we were only able to enjoy him for a short period before the waitress asked us for Togo cups and rushed us out of the door. Will not be going back....ever. read more

The lobster cha cha is definitely worth waiting for! I've never had such tasty Lobster tempura and it was rolled with egg crepe. The salmon lover appetizer special with spicy tuna was also absolutely excellent. Both of these items were not on the menu, they were on the special Sushi appetizer wall by the hostess stand. Totally worth it and awesome! We really enjoyed ourselves and we gave the sushi chef his own special cash gratuity. The fried calamari was delicious but there was not enough of it. read more

Went here on a date with my girlfriend. They messed up my drink order, my soup order, and both of our food orders. They mixed her order with mine (some of her rolls were on my plate and some of mine were on hers) and gave me one of the wrong rolls (tuna instead of salmon). They couldn't even get my water order right!!!! Worst $40 I've ever spent. read more

I have had the pleasure of dining at Toyko a couples times. It has never failed at great service, good food, and a fun enjoyable environment. If your kids do not like fire, do not bring them to this restaurant. Toyko is in a wonderful and very accessible location. On typical busy nights, there is a rather small wait but it is definitely worth the waiting around for. I personally have never tried the sushi but it looks superb. Hopefully next time I dine in at Toyko I will indulge in some spicy tuna rolls. read more

Great experience, salad and soup were slightly bland but the entree made up for it. A+ filet and scallops.

Tokyo is a good place to go for hibachi. They have good food but depending on the night it could take a min to get a available seat...so try to plan ahead for that. The sauce for the hibachi is good but it has a strange after taste that I didn't care for . The parking is great. Close to shopping read more

Customer Service from the cook and server was great!! However, the food lacked seasoning and they use entirety too much butter and oil! Definitely not the best hibachi I've had, the rice was tasteless and hard. My husband and daughter enjoyed the hibachi steak. read more
