I ordered a latte with praline syrup which was nice (the cups and lids were kind of the best I've seen at a coffee shop, which is random, but worth mentioning) as well as a bagel and a donut. The donut was a chocolate long john and I asked the person taking my order if they were filled or unfilled. They said unfilled, which is what I wanted, but when I got back to my car, it was filled. My husband went in to place his own order, so he purchased another normal chocolate frosted donut and it was fine, but I would have been bummed if I had been on my own and gotten the wrong thing. My bagel was good and my husband enjoyed the coffee and pastry he ordered, plus my reject donut. ;) Looks like it'd be a nice place to stay and enjoy a meal or do some work, as there was a whole separate sitting area upstairs.

The restaurant is nicely decorated. Our server, Calista, was outstanding. She took such good care of us, helped with recommendations and answered any questions we had. She has worked at Blue for several years and it was obvious she loved the food and was proud of everything offered by the restaurant. First, and by all means, try to get there during Happy Hour, which in the case of Blue is a huge understatement. Happy Hour is Monday through Saturday open to 6:30pm, and all day Sunday. That is WAY more than a Happy HOUR. The Happy Hour menu has a ton of options, so don't miss it. I started with a Sake flight. I was interested in Partly Cloudy, but they were out of one, substituting another cloudy sake the bar uses for a cocktail on their menu. I opted for Sky Guardian. All three options were delectable. It was also 1/2 price bottled Sake Tuesday. We did not take advantage of that deal. On to the food. Let's start with appetizers. Ceviche (Happy Hour) - tilapia, white shrimp, lime juice, cucumber, cherry tomato, avocado, cilantro, sweet onion, jalapeño salsa, wonton crisps, togarashi, chili oil. Absolutely delicious. The small and uniform dice on all the ingredients was a wonder to behold. Highly Recommend! Crispy Rice Cake (Happy Hour) - topped with spicy bigeye tuna, scallion, tataki sauce (4 pcs). I liked this dish quite a bit, but I noticed the flavor stayed on my palate when I went back to the ceviche. I simply finished the ceviche then went back to the rice cakes. This dish is very good and I definitely recommend. Truffle Salmon (Happy Hour) - atlantic salmon drizzled with hot sesame oil, topped with ikura, truffle ponzu sauce, wasabi sprouts (5 pcs). This dish was good. Calista recommended the Yellowtail Serrano, which was also on the HH menu. She doesn't care for salmon; her recommendation made sense, but I like salmon so here we are. I liked the salmon dish, but I think I should have listened to Calista. On to the Mains. Hot Popper (Happy Hour) - smoked salmon, cream cheese, jalapeño tempura, soy paper, sriracha (5 pcs). WOW!! The name implies this roll is going to be Spicy with a capital "S". I tried one piece. I didn't find it spicy, however, I found it phenomenally delicious. I can't recommend this Specialty Maki roll enough. Godzilla Bomb - tempura blue kani, bigeye tuna, yellowtail, togarashi, serrano, ponzu sauce, sriracha (8 pcs). I didn't try this. Mark liked it okay, but it's hard to top Hot Popper. I ordered Sake Turo (Atlantic salmon belly). The texture was smooth and buttery. It was very good, but wait... I also ordered Black Tuna (squid ink and soy cured escolar). Calista recommended it. I was going to order escolar, so was excited to try it with a Blue Sushi twist. Remember WOW for Hot Poppers? Well... WOW, WOW, WOW for the Black Tuna. It was extraordinary, period. You won't find this in most sushi restaurants, if any. There simply aren't enough superlatives for this beautiful sashimi offering. Do not miss it. If you like sushi (in general), do not walk, but RUN to Blue Sushi Sake Grill as quickly as you can. You will not be sorry. I am looking forward to our next trip to Indy; we will absolutely stop in at Blue.
