Special Spicy chicken and their beef is good. I was curious what drink options they have so I snapped some photos.

12-1. Chicken Yakisoba swimming in sauce

We ordered chicken teriyaki with noodles instead of vegetables, instead of telling us the restaurant doesn't do that and we would have to buy an extra side of rice they CHANGED our order WITHOUT telling us to chicken yakisoba which is noodles and vegetables. Took our money, and didn't say a word. When we called back to understand what happened he kept talking over me and telling me that yakisoba has no rice and the chicken teriyaki has no noodles. He would not take responsibility for changing our order without talking to us. He did not acknowledge that he should have told us that to get both noodles and rice we would need to order extra rice. The food is smothered in a sauce and it's completely wet. We also order gyoza and didn't even get any sauce to go with it. Very expensive for such low quality food and terrible terrible service. The salmon teriyaki had ZERO sauce

I've driven by this place so many times (the strip mall it's in is pretty low key) and decided to stop by for an impromptu sit down lunch. I was blown away by how good this place is. I ordered the spicy chicken plate (extra chicken) and was incredibly impressed. The chicken is perfectly cooked and charred (still moist). The spicy sauce was creamy with the right amount of kick. I'd recommend this place to anyone to anyone looking for a quick, high quality meal.

Akizawa Japanese Bistro - 9 piece premium nigiri omakse

Cute little restaurant tucked in downtown Portland that reminds me of Japan…read more The menu isn't big but the sushi and appetizers are made with care. Prices are reasonable and they have a good selection of seasonal and specials. My personal favorite is the heather canyon roll and pork katsu! I recommend making a reservation as they have limited seating (around 5 small tables and 4 bar spots) and take a while to make the food. If you're in for an ambient, intimate experience and not in a hurry, I'd definitely recommend this spot!

A generous pour too. Apologies to the purists, but I ordered the California Roll as it consisted of real crab. Roll slices were small. Taste was par for the course. The shrimp croquettes were my favorite item of the night. And I concur with another Yelper that the Chicken Katsu was excellent, and also good portion to price. The Miso cod on special was tasty, but, small. We also ordered eel nigiri, one of the special hand rolls, and yummy sliced duck. Our experience ended with a somewhat unmemorable flan. Service by the lone server was very friendly and efficient, she's a pro. Usually it's points off for a Downtown spot and no parking, but all the inconveniences actually add to the vibe of this must-do Japanese restaurant.

It's the kind of spot where you come for the visuals but stay because the food also satisfying. Here is what we ordered and loved: The Yin-Yang Bowl: If you are indecisive like me, this is a total game-changer. It lets you try two different ramen broths in one divided bowl. Both the creamy, rich tonkotsu side (with that perfectly tender braised pork belly and crispy shrimp tempura) and the savory, spicy miso side were absolute perfection. The Omurice: You have to get this just for the experience! The servers slice the fluffy egg right at the table so it beautifully cascades over the fried rice before they pour the rich, savory demi-glace sauce on top. It's incredibly satisfying to watch and tastes just as amazing as it looks. The Sides & Dessert: We also tried their minced pork katsu (crispy, juicy, and smothered in sauce) and finished the meal with their Matcha Pudding. The pudding is silky smooth, served on a beautiful wooden tray, and topped with a touch of sweet red bean paste and cream to pour over. It was the perfect, lightly sweet end to a heavy meal. The staff was incredibly organized, the presentation on everything was stunning, and the flavors delivered on every front. I will absolutely be back!

It was quiet, and we were seated quickly. I ordered the rice patty burger. I thought the taste was okay, it was a tad bit under seasoned but the sauce kinda made up for the flavor. The concept of a rice burger is interesting but it does get really messy because it breaks apart easily. The fries were delicious, though! The popcorn chicken was breaded nicely and had a great crunch and flavor. My partner loved the fried oysters. The squid was alright, it was a bit too chewy to bite into to tear. The drink was delicious! I believe I got the strawberry yakult. Overall it was a great place to try out a few of the appetizers!

Great Atmosphere and Excellent Soft Tofu Stew…read more I visited Hansik for dinner on a recommendation from a colleague, and I'm glad I did! The restaurant is very accessible with plenty of parking around the building and a wheelchair-friendly entrance. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The interior is lovely--very clean and has a great vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away. The Meal I ordered the Oyster Soft Tofu Stew, which came with a side of rice, a fresh egg, and a variety of banchan (side dishes). The Stew: It had a nice spicy kick, but cracking the raw egg into the boiling pot mellowed the heat perfectly. It was delicious and paired wonderfully with the rice. The Banchan: While the variety was nice, I found most of the side dishes to be a bit too salty for my personal taste, so I didn't finish them all. To-Go: I also ordered a Seafood Scallion Pancake to take home, and the staff was happy to package it up for me. Overall, it was a very pleasant solo dining experience with great service. I'd definitely return for the stew!

Thin slice brisket was excellent. I can't wait to come back and try the other Stone Griddle bibimbaps. Clay Pot dishes look amazing too. This is one of there's places you come back and try something different every time and enjoy it.
