Yesterday, a crew parked their truck in a way that completely blocked access to our mailboxes in the cul-de-sac. When I politely and calmly asked them to move and simply park in the cul-de-sac itself (like every other work crew) so the approaching mail carrier could make their delivery, I was met with blatant rudeness. They refused to move, telling me the mail carrier (who they watched approaching) should just "get out and walk," despite their own truck being parked there for only minutes. Expecting a company to value its reputation, I called the phone number on the truck for expected assistance to resolve the issue. The woman who answered (Alisa) was equally dismissive and disinterested in addressing the behavior of their workers. Needless to say, because of their refusal to move, the mail carrier was forced to drive past our homes, resulting in no mail and the loss of an important expected delivery. It is disheartening to see a business operate with such blatant disregard for the community. If this is how they treat neighbors, homeowners and the public, I would have zero confidence in having them work on my property. A company is only as good as its representatives and both this crew and their office are clearly not interested in basic respect, consideration of others, or customer service. They state they're a "professional" company. Save yourself the headache and hire a real professional company that actually understands how to conduct themselves in a residential area. Btw, based on the before and after, unimpressed by the quality of work they did while here.

The first thing I noticed right away is they actually answer their phone when they call so that was already a plus for me. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and get someone out to help us address our main issue which was our kitchen not venting correctly, in addition to a fireplace that we would soon need because of the cold Detroit winter. As a new homeowner, we did want to make sure that the fireplaces were in good working condition before we actually started using them so we requested a estimate on what the service and maintenance could potentially be for the fireplaces that we had in our house and any recommendations that they would have. The process was very straightforward. They easily walked us through the quote and what was needed and why, in addition to what the current condition of the fireplace was in to what would need to be done and how it would fix the problem as well as what comes after the service what could be expected what they would be able to help us with should we come across any hiccups after the fireplace maintenance and what warranties came with the products that we purchased. We purchased dampers some gas fire logs, and had our fireplaces updated so that we could use them last winter. From there coming this winter, we assumed that we would have to have the fireplaces serviced again because it was a new year, though we only had a handful of fires in the living room fireplace they scheduled the appointment. They were prompt and scheduling, as well as coming out for service and transparent enough to say we haven't used our fireplace enough to fully warrant a cleaning. This was refreshing to see this type of honesty from a contractor. Then we ended up having an issue with the smoke coming into our house on our serviced fireplace. They were able to address solve an analyze, the reasons why the smoke was coming in to our living room, though everything looked up-to-date and ready to go. It was next level problem-solving skills that they would rarely run across because of the unique fireplace that we had in our Historic house. It was very appreciated that they did not just give up and ask us to spend a gazillion dollars to throw money at a problem. I highly recommend Detroit City sweep for the professionalism the availability, and of course, the quality of the work.
