Guys, this place is the BEST! Sean greeted me when I came in and I told him I was looking for a new barber. I asked if he does flat tops and he of course said yes. However, not every barber that says that can. In Sean's case YES HE CAN! My wife is usually very critical of my haircuts due to her being a cosmotologist, (she can't do flat tops cuz she's tried.) She had high praise for Sean's flat top. She said I look younger. (I'll take that.) All I know is I found a new barber shop hangout called TOCAYO'S! You should try it too!!! read more

I can't give negative poop stars or I would! read more

I've been coming here for years and always get cut by either Justin or Gabriel, whoever is available and they do pretty good jobs. In the recent times I've come here I will make an appointment at 12 for example and end up waiting like 15-20 minutes after my appointment time to sit in the chair. If it happened once, I would understand because sometimes things happen. It has been almost every time in the last year or so. It's an inconvenience for me because I set these appointments to fit my schedule and it's rude to make your paying loyal customers wait 20 minutes past their time to get cut. Next time (if I even go back) I'm going to arrive 20 minutes late to my appointment. Sorry Justin and Gabriel read more

This is the second time Nate cut my dads hair and beard. Again, it was a great experience, Nate is patient, warm and cares about client satisfaction. Definitely call ahead for appointment! read more

Danny was great from the beginning to the end. My son is very particular on who cuts his hair and was so happy with his new look. Thank you Danny for being so welcoming and nice to my son. read more

Great cuts and friendly staff! Came once as an emergency and this is my new regular spot!

Pros and cons. Pros is that they are the best around when it comes to getting the perfect haircut especially by Daniel or Justin. The owner Gabriel is good too. Daniel and Justin are the best when it comes to a nice fade. They don't take long. They're pretty fast and style your hair really nice after the cut. Cons, they are so goddamn rude. I remember my son had an appointment with Justin and last minute I didn't have a ride to take my son to his haircut appointment. I called Justin and apologized that we won't be making it to the appointment. He said over the phone I still had to pay him not $30 but $60. He wanted double because he said he couldn't replace my son with another client for not letting him know 2 hrs in advance. Uh, I had just told him we didn't have a ride for the appointment last minute. He made me feel like i had to pay him right then and there over the phone. I told him "How can you charge me when you haven't cut my son's hair and you don't have my debit card info?" What he should've said was he's going to have to charge me double on the next visit and I would've said okay, understood. People like them need to work in retail or something to work on their customer service. Rude. Oh, and I saw Gabriel at my job, lol. It was awkward for him because he cut my son's hair after Justin was ignoring my text messages. I was going to pay Justin double. The only reason why Gabriel cut my son's hair was because when I called the barber shop, his cell, he didn't know it was me calling. So we set an appointment. I was there with my son within the next hour and gave him a $10 tip. This was during the week in the morning. I'm pretty sure Justin was there and just stepped out to his car or something before my son and I got there. I told Gabriel we'll be back in a month and he said okay. A month later I text Gabriel to set an appointment for my son's haircut and he too was clearly ignoring my texts because he left me on "read". Rude. I guess he thought it'd be weird that he's cutting my son's hair now and not Justin. I thought this was a business? My dad went there once and never went back because I don't think he liked the vibe there. He didn't feel comfortable. Gabriel cut his hair. read more

Went in to get a haircut... I walked in, said hello and got no greeting or explanation as to how they take their next customer. So I sat down thinking that I would be next. As I sat there another guy walked in and had a seat. So I am there for 15 minutes and as the next available barber finished cutting a customers hair the guy that walked in after me gets into the barbers chair. I said how does this work... one of them said "oh that was his appointment" WTF, they couldn't tell me that as I walked in? They couldn't have asked if I had an appointment or if they were busy or if I was next?!?! This absolutely baffles me. Completely unprofessional! I wonder if these guys know how valuable it is for their business to treat people with a little respect and as if they want people to give them business and referrals. Never going back to this place again and if you go make sure you ask them how long the wait is because they sure as hell wont tell you. read more

Loved this place! Friendly, professional and very personable. Took my grandson for his very first haircut and Gilbert made him feel comfortable and safe. My grandson looked so handsome afterwards. Great place to go. Can't wait to take my other grandson for his next haircut. Had to mention...we didn't have an appointment and it was cutting it close to closing. Gabriel was taken that it was my grandson's first cut and he said he was honored to do it. Such hospitality is wonderful and rare. read more

Visited this barber shop for the first time ever last week. I called in to schedule an appointment and I was lucky enough to get Jesse to cut my hair. He gave a great "business" cut and now I'll be going to Jesse (Justin). My last barber cut my hair for the past 25 years. Time to move read more

I came for the good reviews but I was regretted. Done by a guy name Luis who was obviously still in learning stage. I end up having the worst haircut ever. Come back no more. read more

Rolled into this spot because my previous barber was inconsistent on his cuts and his hours. This place had nice curb appeal so I thought I'd give them a shot (not one to go by reviews, positive or negative). Upon walking in I was told that they use a call in system and that the wait could be 15-30min. Fair enough, I appreciated the heads up 20min later I was in Jesse or Justin's chair (bad with names) He understood what I wanted and I left with what we discussed. Prices are very fair ($20) vibe is chill. TV is on and they seem to have a strong clientele. If you're considering in coming here, call in because they get busy. 3 chairs and they were running 6 deep when I left. I'll be back, but I might have to call in Thanks again fellas! read more

I have to say Sean did a great job on my hair. I was immediately fresh and ready for the weekend. Nothing like a nice fade to feel great about myself again ;) If you need a fade give Sean a call at the Tocayo's Barber shop. They even setup appointments so I am not waiting all day in the shop. read more

Great barber. Hes been in business for the past 15 years. This is one of his shops he just opened. Very reasonable price for a haircut. Im usually very picky with my barbers but the barber (tocayo) knows his stuff. If your out to look for a barber try this place. You can walk in or make an appointment. You will leave lookin good read more

Been coming to the shop for over 4 years now. Danny is the man. Takes appointments and prices have always been reasonable. Always pay $20 with tip. Fades and tapers are always on point. He takes appointments only so call ahead of time. Tuesday-Saturday. Gabriel owner of the shop also runs another shop in Whittier and has been in the game for years. He also takes appointments. Justin is the new barber in the middle and looks like he can cut a fresh taper and line up. He takes walk ins and appointments. Good customer service. Small shop good vibes. read more

Small place, but they were clean, and not too busy @ noon, in the middle of the week. Short distance from my office in MP. Went on the previous post recommendation, and asked for Gabriel. He did a good job, and the cut lasted for weeks in the shape it was supposed to be. I have paid much more $$ for much less haircut from "high end" shops (ehem...18/8 in Pasadena). Thank God for good professional barbers like these guys. They're getting harder and harder to find! Was planning on going today, but no one answering phone, no hours posted on bussiness info. and no v/m... Keep trying, I guess. read more

Good place, good people. The barbers are nice and friendly I agree when kids around the barbers should not tend to curse so much

Got dissed today at this place. I came in at 1 pm Gabriel said I would get taken care of by the other barber next because he had an appointment. I said ok fine thanks for letting me know. So I waited. Another gentlemen came in at 120 and sat down. 2pm rolls around and the other barber finishes. The other barber says to the guy that came in at 120 did you have an appointment. He said "no i just came in earlier and left" the barber took him and asked me to wait. F*&k that. Gabriel apologized but that totally sucked. The other barber should have told me about the other guy while he was working on his current customer. Good hair cuts? I would'nt know. Sorry about the bad review but what you gujys did sucks and I'm pissed. It says no appointments but you better make one. read more

Rarely write a review but felt the need to share.... Visiting from NYC and have heard good things about this shop from friends and family, whom I'm visiting here in LA. Have a well known friend who needed a clean-up too for an appearance tonight but when I called today at 3:20pm I was told (semi-rudely and abruptly) they were wrapping up and closing very soon, I assumed 4pm as stated online. I asked if open Sunday and was replied with a quick "nah". I was okay with this until I drove by at 4:50pm to see the door wide open and a cut occurring inside. I called at 5pm to inquire if still open and had an rambling excuse about dinner plans later that night. Sadly, losing a couple customers when in-town doesn't hurt their wallet, I'm assuming. Would be worse if the owner's name is Gabriel, like mine , and not even a Tocayo can get in to this hot spot! LoL Best part is found a great spot with 10 min away where the dad and son are detailed and give amazing haircuts. Customer service is where it's at, even to new potential or all phone customers! read more

Been coming here for about over a year now. I've only been cut by Gabriel and Justin, they're straight experts! I get a skin high fade, with a hard part and comb over. If your looking for small shop that will actually take their time and get you looking good for the weekend, this is your spot! Fades always on point! I usually call in and ask if there's a wait because the get a LOT of appointments. The best time to go would be around 1- 2 on a weekday. read more
