This is a great place to stop in Cedar Hill. You get all the benefits of Small Town, USA with a metropolitan vibe. Do not let the curb appeal fool you... from the moment you walk in you'll forget about all that. The employees are friendly and everyone knows your name. The Dalquest Brothers really know their business. By the time I left, I felt like an old friend. It's great for a few months after their pipe show each fall and then it gets picked over and then remains blah until next year. Both Bob and Dave are skilled and extremely knowledgable when it comes to the technique and art of smoking pipe, as well as the history and knowledge behind cigars. I recently moved from Houston and one of my biggest fears was that I would not be able to find a cigar shop to replace the one I had frequented for years. It took a while to find but Tobacco Cabana is one of the best kept secrets in Cedar Hill. The staff is friendly and helpful. They don't have the biggest selection out there, but focus on quality over quantity. They also have a phenomenal selection of pipe tobacco. The VIP area that really takes the experience up a notch. Great funny guy who runs the store! Retired and runs the store as a hobby which is great because he's willing to take the time to make sure you get a product you'll enjoy. (and with a price that is incredibly low !) Pipes: over 80 fresh kinds of pipe tobacco to choose from. Even a few private blends, that smell and smoke great! (try chicks-dig-it ) I have yet to find any selection as wide and fresh as his in the Dallas area! Cigars: great selection, and more then willing to order whatever you need. I was impressed that his cigars are kept fresh in his 4 smaller humidors (6 ft by 4 ft large) as opposed to a walk in humidor. Because a walk in changes humidity whenever someone walks in, often the cigars by the front door of a walk are dry and the ones in the back are too moist. But Jim avoided that problem and opted for a model that provides fresher cigars but is a little less showy. (besides, he saves money with his method and passes it onto the customer!) Simply put: best selection and freshest / best priced tobacco around. (Note: I been buying from Jim for a few years and I work once in a while at the store to help out) read more

I found this shop using my yelp app on my phone. I figured it would be up to snuff (no pun intended) based on the five star review... I was sorely disappointed. I picked up some cigars as a gift for my husband in light of his promotion. I wish I hadn't. They were somewhat dry and the flavor was not enjoyable to either of us. One of them wasn't smokeable. Once the end was cut, the wrap began to fall off. I'd suggest that the owner of the business invest in a better humidity control system in the future or at least some serious discounts. read more
