Gentleman at the front counter who took our order was a sweetheart, however the young lady with the buzz cut was extremely rude to my husband. It was our first time eating at Toastique so my husband was waiting at the counter for our food and she asked him aggressively if he could go sit down since she would bring our food out to us and there was no need to wait at the counter. She ended up bringing out everyone else's orders in the restaurant and then as soon as ours was ready, she yelled his name and made him come back to the counter to collect our food. Everything else about the restaurant was nice, she just left an extremely sour taste in our mouth for the price we paid and the customer service we expected. What a great opening day!! I heard of Toastique through instagram and woke up bright and early for a nice breakfast with them, and they absolutely blew me away. There was a line coming into the store, but it went by pretty quickly. Inside, the decor is very chic and cute, with a good amount of seating options available from table seats and bar seats. All of the workers were very friendly and knowledgeable of what items they had on the menu. I ordered the smoked salmon toast, and my order came with minimal wait considering how busy they were! I didn't know what to expect plating-wise, but WOW the presentation with the little cutting board and gold cutlery really elevated the experience. The toast itself was so delicious: salmon cured just right, amazing cream cheese shmear, fresh greens, and the little bite from the pickled onion and lemon, all 10 out of 10. I'm very glad they provide silverware because it's a sizable piece of toast with a generous amount of stuff on it, eating it just with hands probably would have been a bit messy haha. Overall, so excited to have a location here in Chesapeake, definitely will be coming back to explore the menu more! read more

My friend and I decided to try this place for breakfast and it was lovely atmosphere. I tried the dragonberry açaí bowl and he did the tuna poke toast. I wasn't crazy about my dragon berry bowl. However, the tuna poke toast was quite flavorful and if we came back, I would definitely order something like that. I will say, however the service was very slow and we waited for about 20 minutes after we ordered our meal for the food to come. They definitely need more hired help. we came when it was very slow and if that is what people can expect then when it's busy, people will be waiting forever for their food to arrive. Not good. One of the worst açaí bowls I've had in a while. Beyond the fact that it was soupy... I paid for extra granola and it was like somehow that got me less than the normal amount since there was hardly any at all. There was barely any fruit, I might have had 4 blueberries, 3 strawberry slices and 5 banana slices. I ordered protein powder but they charged me for double protein powder (and I really hope they didn't actually give me double protein powder because I certainly didn't want to eat that much protein for lunch). 100% not worth the $19 bill!! read more

I was very excited to try this place! I invited a good friend to come and try it with me. I ordered toast and she ordered a matcha bowl. We both ordered coffee as well. I received my toast almost immediately. I waited for my friend to receive her food before I started eating. Well, 3 other people that came after us received their food before she got her matcha bowl. I went to the counter to ask for the bowl and it seemed they no longer even had our order. No one was aware that we were still waiting for food. By the time we received the matcha bowl, my toast was soggy and nasty. Our coffees were a cup of warm milk since we couldn't taste the coffee at all, and overall the experience was terrible. This place is extremely overpriced and service is horrible. Save your money and a headache. Not worth the hype. read more

But the real star of the show was the ReCharge (fresh cold pressed juice) I also loved the avocado toast - it was expertly prepared, presented, and bursting with flavor. I wasn't expecting the toasts to be such good portions. It did feel like the toppings were all piled on top so it was a little difficult to eat. All the ingredients worked together and tasted really good. I hope they swap the serving boards for something a little large and with a lip. The toasts are too big and it's hard to cut bite sized pieces without the pieces sliding right off the board. Plus, you can see the knife marks already and I don't think the boards will look nice for much longer. We did go pretty early on a Saturday so they weren't busy. With it being only a few hours after they opened I was shocked how dirty the floor was in their dining area. read more
