I had new LeafGuard gutters installed on my house and garage on Saturday, Aug 8, 2026. While removing a tree on my neighbor's property on Friday, Aug 14, 2026, the Woodchuck Tree Service crew lost control of a rope, causing the tree to fall onto my house, severely damaging a 4 to 5-foot section of my newly installed LeafGuard gutter. After quite a bit of discussion back and forth, Megan Townsend of Woodchuck Tree Service finally agreed that the repairs would be handled directly by LeafGuard to ensure my product warranty remained valid. Ms. Townsend agreed to send a check and coordinate with LeafGuard to schedule the work. However, instead of following this agreement, an unauthorized third-party gutter company was brought in by her and owner, John Bailey, on Sept 11, 2026 without my knowledge or consent while I was at work, replacing the damaged gutter with a non-matching, non-LeafGuard gutter. I have attempted to reach Woodchuck by phone regarding this matter, but have not received a response. They are aware the unauthorized repair does not meet the agreed-upon standards, and compromises my original warranty. But they apparently have no plans to resolve this issue and have my LeafGuard gutter system restored properly.

Larry told us they would replace the tree when they returned to trim some branches in our back yard a couple weeks later. Larry then texted me a couple weeks later to say he would not be coming back to trim the trees in the backyard, but would still replace the tree within the next week. He claims this trim request was after they had taken the tree down, but we have emails that prove otherwise. We were quoted before he even came out to take the tree down. He then blocked my phone number and has still not replaced the tree. All of my iPhone texts turned to green, they were blue in previous conversations, and my calls went right to voicemail when I tried to call the day following him informing he would not be coming back out but would replace the tree and when I called a week later for an update, as well as the week after that. A few weeks ago, I even tried to reach out through their website, with the information on the tree that was mangled, and he still has yet to respond. They also left a 4' branch stuck in our yard, sticking 3" out of the ground from when they fell our tree, and didn't even bother to try and remove it or let me know. Pretty hard to miss. I had to dig it out of the ground myself. I tried to text him pictures, but they went undelivered as he blocked my number. He then tries to dismiss that he blocked my number and claims that he responds to all messages, however I have screenshots of the texts and a call log on my phone that prove otherwise; not to mention the email that went unanswered through his website. They are absolutely unprofessional and an embarrassment of a company.

They came out and gave me an estimate where a competitor wanted to come out and do the work but wouldn't give me a ball park number first. Others didn't respond. The weather caused the appointment to be pushed multiple times (snow and high speed winds which is what caused the damage in the first place), but the work is done and the gutter appears very secure now. Pricing seemed reasonable for the time and materials used. They were friendly and open to various payment options. The estimate came slightly under the quote, (rounding distance so very slight) which is always nice. Notes: I know it's hard being a contractor and taking calls while working, but more prompt notifications about appointments being moved would be nice. Communication wasn't timely but I had the sense that there wasn't a home office fielding work, so I'm certainly more understanding. Hard to be timely when you're dangling from roofs trying to get work down before the next storm wave. They were certainly better than some other contractors I recently worked with.
