We rented from this management company in hermosa beach and Monica was very thorough with our background check and employment status. They really want to vet us properly and I respect that. From 2020 to 2026 they quickly responded to any problems we had with maintenance. I would consider this a very trustworthy company as they took their job seriously and we felt very taken care of. Really appreciate how flexible and on top of it they were. read more

I found my experience at TMC extremely helpful, as someone new to the area. I actually got to talk to a person! Monica was thorough with the application process, like ever other company, but I really liked that I knew I wasn't one of many applicants, because they don't accept a deposit unless you are first in line. I happily recommend this company. read more

We have used TMC The Management Consultants for over 10 years and couldn't be happier with their professional and helpful service. At one point we had a squatter and TMC handled the entire court case and got them out. We will always be grateful for that. Also recently remodeling the rental, Monica and Kevin were very helpful in getting it all organized. Monica has also helped us with a different rental, not handled by her, and her information and guidance have been wonderful. She goes above and beyond and we could not give a higher recommendation. Thank you, TMC. read more

I started renting a spot in manhattan through TMC years ago and it's been great. I realized I must've been too busy enjoying our place to leave the well deserved review. Go to Monica, she is just the best and has always been there for any answers we needed. I never leave reviews but I truly feel like we lucked out. Awesome people to get you there. read more

These guys are awesome. Monica helped me through the whole thing and i found the exact place i was looking for. It had all of the space i needed and i wanted it immediately. It took a while to work through some issues with a leaking sink but was fixed asap. I appreciate the professionalism. Highly recommend this company. Thanks again read more

TMC was great so great and responsive many years ago when we were tenants that we've hired them to manage our rental property now that we are landlords. In both cases as tenants or landlords, TMC has always been responsive and great to work with! read more

Had a great experience working with TMC. The staff were great to work with and helped me through the entire process with patience and kindness. I will definitely be using them again in the future and cant recommend them enough. read more

I checked out a place in El Segundo through this company. While it didn't end up being the right fit for me, I had an overall great experience. Monica was super friendly, helpful, and made the whole process really easy. I appreciated how responsive she was and how smoothly everything went. If you're apartment hunting in the area, they're definitely worth reaching out to! read more

Nice family run company! We may be renting our home out in the future and plan to use this company when the time comes!

Called about a property in Redondo Beach. Monica was very helpful and walked me through the process of everything I'd need to provide. Another nice thing is I was able to check the key out and check the place out on my own without any pressure. read more

I called to let this management company know that their building (next door to where I live) was infested with a bee hive. They asked me strange questions like "why didn't anyone from our building call if there was a problem?"... I believe it was a woman named Monica that I spoke to. The bee problem is so bad the bees are all over our apartment windows and some on the ground. The next day I'm taking my dog out and he steps on a bee that I couldn't see that apparently was dead in the grass in front of our buildings. As I rushed my dog to the ER I left them a voicemail letting them know this bee situation was urgent and needed to be handled immediately. The voicemail I got back from MONICA was so incredible rude. Imagine that... here I am freaking out hoping I'm not going to lose my dog, so worried and scared, rushing to the ER with him and I pick up my phone to hear the rudest voicemail. She did not ask how my dog was, did not apologize or show any sympathy. She basically told me I needed to have common sense to not let my dog walk outside my building?? (What about other passer by-ers dogs and children in the area!? Should they have common sender too?) She said they had dispatched as soon as they heard about the bees. (Which doesn't seem true because no one ever came!) They seemed to care more about their responsibility in the situation and placing the blame more than they actually cared about my dogs well being or the potential safety or anyone around. When I called back Monica answered but immediately gave the phone to someone else when she heard it was me. I let her know that Monica's message was VERY rude and that my dog isn't the only dog who was stung by a bee from the hive and that my neighbors dog was stung on another day too! To my surprise as I pulled home from the hospital, a bee removal company was there immediately. NOW they care?! Now they dispatch someone after a dog gets hurt? There are so many wonderful management companies out there. Please choose wisely. If you need a recommendation I can give you one. I personally wouldn't put my trust in this company. Nor do I care for their rude staff. UPDATE: The count is now up to three dogs being stung. And although the bees obv wasn't their fault in the first place. Caring about the residents and having empathy for the people and animals here is. Not just telling us to have "common sense". read more

I'll be honest, when we first moved in to our place in May, I started living/seeing some of the issues that these reviewers posted and I got mighty nervous. But what they failed to mention is how professional and attentive Ryan is in maintenance. Things go wrong, break, and malfunction, but communication is key. The company has been very responsive to my fiancé and I. Update: After living in our place for three years, my wife and newborn moved out. Once again I was nervous about our security deposit and whether or not maintenance would take responsibility for previously broken items. Well, I can safely say I just received our security deposit that had very fair reductions. Hats off to Deb in maintenance. read more

I just changed my review from 1 star to 3. As I documented in an earlier review, I had serious problems with TMC being slow, unresponsive and occasionally rude when it came to making repairs. Things got so bad, I escalated my issues with TMC to the property owners a few months back. The owner toured my apartment and had a meeting with TMC. Following that meeting, TMC's maintenance manager sent me a handwritten letter of apology, and several issues were immediately fixed. Today, I reported my first repair issue since the escalation, and it was handled quickly and professionally. read more

I cannot give enough compliments about TMC and Monica. Extremely professional, fair, and honest. We are a family of 4, who enjoy the beach and simple living. Prior to TMC, we were constantly turned down, hung up on, not given an application, or told that "the apartment we were considering was too small for a family". (This is against the law and discrimination). However, Monica was happy to show us multiple apartments. When we found a place and started the application process, she promised that she would not offer the apartment to anyone else unless we did not get approved. She was true to her word, we got the apartment! We are so happy here. She went above, beyond, and exceeded our expectations. We moved in to a clean apartment with fresh paint throughout and appliances that are updated. Monica and her team at TMC is extremely professional, fair, and honest! Highly recommended! read more

They are so weird. Not sure why they operate w/ such unfriendly customer service. They are a nightmare. Stay away from renting from TMC or using their services. I don't have to tell you that, you'll figure it out very quickly once you sign that contract! read more

Worst people on the planet. RENTERS AND OWNERS BEWARE! They won't fix problems in a timely manner. Everything is your fault. And they use fear tactics by screaming at you on the phone if you ever report a problem. In case you didn't know everything that goes wrong with one of their properties is your fault. These people are the scum of the earth. I say that honestly because It is rare I do not like someone but I would never live in any place they rent and if I was a owner I would be worried about my property getting damaged because they do not repair plumbing issues in a timely manner causing long-term damage. read more

I cannot recommend this group in any way shape or form. They do not treat people with respect or humanly. They will not listen to you or hear anything that you have to say. They will simply refer back to legal jargon/lease agreements and do not care about anything else. I would stay away from any of their properties at all costs. Their agents are beyond rude and impossible to deal with. They will speak over you and ignore you as you talk. They make their leases up to get every cent possible out of you and to make things as difficult as possible. There are far better places around, do not go here. read more

I would give them negative stars if I could! The worst rental company I have ever experienced! They refuse to fix things and when they finally do, it takes them about 6 tries to get it done. They also get mad if you are using you parking spot! *NEWS FLASH* NOT MY PROBLEM! Find your own spot, I pay for this one. They are distrustful and take your money anyway they can! I hear that they take from the deposit when it is stuff that needs to be fixed because it is old (the apartment is from the 70s no shit stuff is going to break down if you never fix anything correctly!) The carpet is disgusting that they put in and they also dont give a shit about their tenants. They are trying to make us fix our own fridge and pay for a new one ourselves. Well if thats the case then I will throw out yours and buy my own and then take it with me once I finally move out. It is hard to get away from these dicks since they manager half the properties in the south bay. read more

I am currently living in a property rented by TMC, and would discourage anyone from renting from them or contracting with them to rent their property. I rent property in Atlanta, and would never do business with a company like TMC. 1. The customer service is deplorable, I don't know how they get away with it! They are angry, negative, and generally unhappy everytime someone from our house calls to ask a question or report needed maintenance. Help does typically come eventually, but it is a very negative experience. They also have not even been open to discussing improvements to the property. Typical response is "No, we won't do that". 2. We live in a large house and have had a decent amount of turnover in the last year. They have started charging new tenants a $100 processing fee (previously only $25), because of "high turnover". The amout of work is the same, regardless of turnover... the extra fee is too high. The only good thing I have to say about TMC is that I've never had any issues paying my rent and the house is in live-able shape. Bobby read more

Ummm how are you supposed to see an apartment, much less rent one, when the chick who answers the phone is so rude? How do they expect to rent to people who have jobs if the only appointments available are 9:30am-5:00pm? That's all I have to say about that. read more

I currently rent a place from their Hermosa Beach location and I have had nothing but problem after problem. They are the WORST Management Company I have ever dealt with. I am a property owner in another state and I have a management company and this company is an example of what NOT to do. They ignore any and all problems and their emergency service is more than 24 hours. Better Business Bureau PLEASE SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN!! EVERYONE STAY AWAY!! read more

TMC wanted to charge us $300 just to submit a rental application. And they would have wanted us to pay for repairs to the refrigerator and washer/dryer. In 20 years of renting I've never heard of that before. Two friends of mine who are property owners agreed that it was ridiculous. TMC was also rude and unfriendly on the phone. My girlfriend was smart enough to Google them and I'm not at all surprised that every review on here is 1 star (except one which is probably by them). Stay away. read more

I echo completely the sentiments shared before me. I've never dealt with a company who so blatantly flaunts their indifference towards their customers as TMC. They claim to have a "first come, first serve" basis for applications. However, despite the fact that our application was in their hands 16 hours before anyone else's we were placed third on the list of applicants. When we tried to explain to the incompetent weekend employee the situation, he panned over us and just told us to call someone else. Hoping to get someone with common sense, we went into the office on a weekday only to be greeted by cold stares when we walked in. We weren't invited to sit down and no one even inquired as to why we were there. Once we managed to get into a conversation with someone regarding our issue, we were constantly interrupted and at one point accused of being liars. I would be utterly shocked if this company ever sniffs anything above a 2 star rating. As far as I can tell, they neither "manage" nor "consult." Quite a misnomer, if you ask me. read more

I have had great experiences with the staff here..they've always been very responsive to any maintenance issues that have come up. All of their employees have been great to work with and have worked with the owner and me to make some updates and improvements to the property that improve the appearance and make it more pet-friendly. Our neighbors are TMC tenants as well, and they've seen a big improvement in service since TMC took over for the previous property management company. read more

Honestly I'm a bit confused as to all the negative reviews. Now maybe because I'm new, but the reviews say that they were all rude from day 1. I can only speak my personal experience and in my experience TMC has been extremely cooperative and helpful. When I first called them I spoke to Susan, I explained to her how i had a low credit score but had proof that it doesn't reflect my tenant history or bill paying history, I simply never built my credit. I asked her straight up "is it even worth applying so I dont waste time" she said "come in and we'll work it out. Dave called me back to arrange a walk through, we did it. I applied that same day, while at the office I saw a bunch of different people come to pay rent there and Monica helped me fill out the forms. After Monica pulled my report she basically read off to me exactly what I said was wrong with it, she basically said in so many words "If you can prove that all of this is a non issue I'll see what I can do." Didnt promise me that I'll be accepted, I got a notarized letter from Nissan saying I am not behind references from past landlords, and alot of other things. Long story short I was accepted and I am extremely grateful. Even if I was not accepted I was going to leave a 5 star rating because of how upfront and helpful everyone was. I don't why everyone has bad mouthed them, maybe 8 months in to my tenancy I'll leave another review. But if you're reading this, just try them for yourself because my experience with TMC was genuinely amazing. Monica is awesome. Dave is great and I only spoke to Susan once but she was the one that said "come on in we'll figure it out." P.S. Im at work while I'm leaving this review by the way, I just thought I had to put this positive experience to the public read more

While my first impression with the management was less than desirable - someone called to complain about a party and they made me feel like a child - overall I would have to say they are good and honest people. They did not raise my rent in the 2.5 years that I lived there - keeping in mind the state of the economy, most of their properties will allow a small pet, they always kept the grounds clean, and biggest plus is they were very generous with the returned deposit. Coming from a corporate management company in LA that screwed me out of every penny at my first apartment, TMC's approach was very refreshing. I would rent with them again. read more

This management company is incompetent. My shower was broken with no hot water for 6 months and no one cared. They only fixed it in exchange for me taking down a bad Yelp review. My screens in my living room fell out so I have no screens and it's been almost 2 months and they haven't fixed it. They ignore my emails and calls. They only fix anything to keep bad reviews of Yelp. Don't use them if you own property unless you want unsatisfied tenants and your property poorly cared for. Slum landlords. I slipped and fell due to my leaking dishwasher they have sent someone to fix 4 times and it's been over a month. I am bruised with glass and cuts everywhere a result of their incompetence. I send ten emails to get one response if I'm lucky. I don't think a month and a half to fix a leaking dishwater. 2 months to replace screams and 6 months to fix a shower is reasonable. read more

As a tenant of 10 years I can only say good things about them. Anything that I have ever needed fixed was addressed immediately and they have a 24 hour phone line for emergencies. Monica and Deb truly care about their tenants. We have had an issue with one of their vendors and of course TMC sided with us and treated us like family. They took the time to drive out to us immediately to resolve the issue. Its not just a job for them, its their heart and soul into this company and it shows. Thank you TMC! read more

If you're looking for a rental agency that cares about you as a client, is structured, and keeps you informed, TMC is all of that and more. They've been my rental agency for 5 years and counting. They always keep me up to date on any changes with my property and are always only a phone call away for any concerns. They care about their clients and check applicants thoroughly as they did the rental properties they are in charge of. Once you are apart of the TMC family any references they give you are stellar.
