We lost our home in the Palisades fire and booked a temporary stay thru Vrbo. The property was managed by Orange Door - which we didn't think anything of at the time, but this turned out to be a nightmare. Weeks after we moved out they came sniffing around for "damages" and "extra cleaning fees." They said this was because our pet was with us, even though the listing was pet friendly. Basically they are price gouging fire victims. Also founder of the company tried to upsell us on interior design services for when we rebuild our home - just 2 weeks after it had burned down. Four of us recently stayed at an Orange Door Stays AirBnB in Manhattan Beach, CA, and we do not recommend them. We left the following review on the AirBnb page, and decided it should be on Yelp as well. While the unit and location were lovely, our experience with Orange Door Stays was a poor one. I'd strongly recommend that prospective guests consider other options. My family stayed here over the Christmas holiday and arrived to a non-functioning refrigerator. It is the responsibility of the host to ensure that the unit matches the listed description and amenities; it is not the responsibility of the guest to troubleshoot appliance issues and request maintenance. Note that the refrigerator was not repaired during our stay. After our check-out date, I received a notification of damage in the unit and was informed that the housekeeping team had found three stained towels. We did not use the towels for anything other than washing up. This was a frivolous and manipulative attempt at receiving additional payment, and I'm likely not the first to experience it. Please pay attention to the company's reviews - which document a history of scammed users - and exercise caution if you do choose to stay here. read more

The worst company. I canceled within the required timeframe and they still charged me for the upcoming rental. I opened a dispute on Amex because I didnt know what "Orange Door" was and that it was related to a property rental through AirBnB. When I figured it out I contacted them and they asked me to cancel the Amex dispute and they would refund me. Well - they never did after several email exchanges and now it is past the amex dispute date so we are still struggling. They are so sketchy - respond immediately like they are helpful but then do nothing. read more

This company is totally sketch. They are robotic and unreasonable and the home I stayed in had tons of lipstick on an uninhabitable pig of a place. Luckily airBNB compensated me for the issues we experienced (because of false advertising by Orange Door) but it was still the worst experience I've ever had using Airbnb. Some of the issues included: doctored photos of the bathroom and bad smells that I believe were a result of upgrading over possible moldy happenings throughout the home, no adequate AC even though they advertised there were portable units (the home was sweltering and made myself and my daughter ill), attempting to charge crazy additional fees because I decided to leave early but still needed time to pack up my daughter and cats. To boot, because this company handles multiple listings, their Alexa/ring.com account broadcasts pictures of people anytime someone checks in to any of the properties to all the properties! Super creepy and a violation of privacy in my humble opinion. As a homeowner I would never allow this kind of company to take over my home and run it as an Airbnb - way too risky! read more

I agree with another poster. This company is totally sketch. My stay was the worst experience I've ever had using Airbnb. Do not use them to manage your property. It is a shame that Airbnb allows companies like this to continue to be used on their site. They are of no help to the renter. read more

We recently stayed at a rental in Manhattan Beach, CA. We booked directly through Orange door stays. Our rental was better than advertised. The hosts were extremely responsive to any questions and the unit was very well stocked. We will definitely use this company again and have recommended to our family and friends. read more

I agree 150% with Sarah's review. The hosts, Eliza and Justin, were the most unreasonable hosts I have ever experienced. My family member is in a wheelchair, and when I saw the condo was on the first floor, I didn't mention she was in a wheelchair. Upon our arrival at the creepy alleyway the condo is on, there were not only stairs to the condo but a ramp. At that point, we could not enter and notified them immediately that we would be canceling the three weeks reservation. Their only response was to contact Airbnb support. Upon contacting Airbnb support, they did nothing, lip service was all either of them provided. The cancellation policy is 50% of the paid amount upon cancellation, neither of them canceled the reservation when I informed them of the cancellation, until finally hosts told me one week later that I had to cancel it online manually. I paid $5700 for this 3 week reservation, I received a refund of approximately $1400. They are thieves and cheats. If there is a remote chance of any extenuating circumstances in your anticipated reservation, don't book with them. Besides, the location is in a creepy part of Manhattan Beach area.
