Beautiful area, lovely salon. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Maureen literally fixed a very bad hair cut that I had several weeks prior and made me feel so much better about myself and my new hair style. I even booked my next appt for Oct. I can honestly say this was the 2nd worst nail experience in my life. I had a gel pedicure and I asked if the girl knew how to remove it, and then give me a spa pedicure. So she said she knew how to remove it. When I go to places that do my gel pedicures fast the file the clear off first then soak the acetone with the fool to take off the color and the color slips right off. This girl soaked and then filed and filed away filing some of my skin off with it. I really wanted to ask her to forget it and leave but I just stayed cause I felt bad since I felt like she was new at this and confused. So once the color was off she was fast and I saw the lady next me get a spa pedicure she was scrubbed for a bit had on a mask for a bit her heels were wrapped, her legs were wrapped she had a massage, I had the scrub placed on me for a sec not rubbed in immediately taken off and a cream immediately taken off no massage at all. And so when I went to pay I asked if I was being charged for a spa pedicure since she obviously forgot to do all the spa things, she still charged me for a spa pedicure, nothing about that pedi was a spa. I hate if I'm new somewhere they throw you with a new person who has no experience. read more

Not sure how this place has 4 stars. I made an appointment for my daughter and i to get facials. Appt was 1:45. When we got there we had to wait for the girl to print out a form for us to fill out. Waited about 15 minutes, then more waiting while she checked the rooms. We went upstairs to where the rooms are. This is in a very old house. It's drafty and not cozy at all. My room was drafty. I was very chilly the whole time. The bed was not heated. The tech didn't talk to me to explain what she was doing. She laid the gown on the bed and left. I got ready and climbed up and waited. The head band thing she placed on me wouldn't stay closed so my hair kept getting in my face and was being massaged with my skin. She got almost as much cream in my hair as on my skin Her technique was decent. Can't say anything about that really. But the towels used to remove cream that she pulled from towel warmer smelled musty and were rough. No steam or heat was used to open my pores. I basically got a face massage then mask, then moisturizer. Not relaxing AT all. read more

After another salon in the area cut my hair unevenly and then laughed about it, I switched to TLC a few years ago. It isn't always easy to find a hairdresser who takes time to know you and your hair. Maureen cares about her clients, listens to what you want and offers suggestions. I've been the happiest with my hair since she has been taking care of me. The atmosphere is always inviting and friendly, and the location is one of the prettiest spots in town. I actually like to go a little early and sit outside by the stream for a few minutes. Worst pedicure ever found here. Using bare minimum of lotion, water, nail oil. No massage, no foot scrub with loofah, no nothing!! Not even electric dryer! Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Will definitely not return read more
