I change hair styles pretty frequently.  Luckily Kim, my usual stylist, keeps records of cuts and colors. When I want a change, she pulls out the iPad and we look for something new that will suit the shape of my face and the texture of my hair. She explains how different cuts will work with my hair, and she gives me her honest opinion as to what will look best. Her work is consistently excellent!  This past March I went from long layers to a short cut.  That week I started work in Manhattan. As I was walking down the street, a woman came up, tapped me on the shoulder and said she just had to tell me how beautiful my hair looked! I never had that happen in Manhattan before!  I was so excited,  I called the shop the next day to thank Kim, and let her know my cut was a hit!  I just came back from a wedding in North Carolina and everyone loved this last cut and color, too! Lois cut and styled my hair for my wedding. Because I didnt know how I wanted my hair or headpiece,  I scheduled a couple of appointments to try different styles.  The day of the wedding, my hair was perfect!  It was exactly what I wanted, and lasted all day and night!  I didn't have to fuss once! You know a great cut when you wash and style your hair at home, and you look just as great as when you left the shop. That's how my experience has been, and that's why I continue to go there.

Well over a week prior, The responding police officer instructed the salon to return my coat immediately and made it clear there was no basis to accuse me of taking anything. Despite that instruction, my coat was still withheld, and I was asked to follow additional steps that were unnecessary and burdensome. 2. I returned to the salon multiple times during your posted business hours to pick up my coat, but the staff refused to return it and repeatedly insisted that I could only speak to -- and only retrieve my coat from -- the owner. 3. When the owner later insisted on specific pickup times, I explained that I work out of town and am not available during most salon hours or during the limited times when the owner was present. That is why I had already attempted to pick it up several times while you were open. 4. I informed the owner that the receptionist spoke to me in a rude and accusatory manner. The response I received was, "she's young and doesn't know how to speak to customers." No apology was offered at that time, or during any of the several calls and conversations I had with the owner. The only apology I received was after this public post. 5. After repeated attempts on my part, the officer ultimately had to retrieve my coat herself. That was the only point at which the issue was resolved. 6. I want to thank the West Milford Police Department for their professionalism and assistance in resolving the matter. I am sharing my experience because the community deserves an accurate understanding of what occurred.

Not only is dining hugely disappointing, but I've tried quite a few hairdressers and I've left so utterly disheartened. Salon Fig was such a positive experience. My hairdresser, Ava was a delight. She was easy to talk to and truly listened to me. Together, we came up with a plan for my hair. I valued her input as she explained each step of her process. Sometimes, hairdressers can be jarringly rough with shampooing but Ava made sure the water temp was comfortable and massaged my head with just the right amount of pressure. The hot towel treatment after was heavenly. I'm happy to say my curls are back and well defined, unlike my last hair experience, where the hairdresser blew my hair out straight despite me sharing a photo of a curly hair style. After my hairstyling, I purchased small quantities of the products used. I've started using them and I'm very pleased. Salon Fig is not inexpensive, but I will definitely return. I'm pleased beyond belief.

She fully agreed. when she put my toner on she then went outside for a smoke break, which was marijuana and not cigarettes. She left my toner on for too long and I was now a full brunette. she told me it looked great and I would get used to it. I was not happy so I came back the following morning to have my hair re-bleached. while waiting for the salon to open, I watched her again smoked marijuana before starting her shift. my hair lightened slightly, but still nowhere near what I wanted. I was left with hair that was brittle and broken from being bleached twice in less than 24 hours and was out $300. I'm not sure if the owners know that their employees are doing drugs while their clients are sitting in the chair.

Additionally, the pricing felt high given that services were billed by the hour. While I appreciate attention to detail, the extended time spent did not feel proportionate to the service provided, especially compared to other salons I've visited outside of Sussex county.
