Thank you Shear Dimensions for responding. I want to provide a clear and accurate account, because several parts of your statement do not reflect what actually happened: 1. Well over a week prior, The responding police officer instructed the salon to return my coat immediately and made it clear there was no basis to accuse me of taking anything. Despite that instruction, my coat was still withheld, and I was asked to follow additional steps that were unnecessary and burdensome. 2. I returned to the salon multiple times during your posted business hours to pick up my coat, but the staff refused to return it and repeatedly insisted that I could only speak to -- and only retrieve my coat from -- the owner. 3. When the owner later insisted on specific pickup times, I explained that I work out of town and am not available during most salon hours or during the limited times when the owner was present. That is why I had already attempted to pick it up several times while you were open. 4. I informed the owner that the receptionist spoke to me in a rude and accusatory manner. The response I received was, "she's young and doesn't know how to speak to customers." No apology was offered at that time, or during any of the several calls and conversations I had with the owner. The only apology I received was after this public post. 5. After repeated attempts on my part, the officer ultimately had to retrieve my coat herself. That was the only point at which the issue was resolved. 6. I want to thank the West Milford Police Department for their professionalism and assistance in resolving the matter. I am sharing my experience because the community deserves an accurate understanding of what occurred. read more

I recently got my hair done by Margaret and I do really like the cut but I have to be totally honest, everything else was not great. I asked for highlights and that is what I paid for but unfortunately that is not what I received. Instead of the blonde being visible, it is hidden underneath my hair which is not what I asked for. The only visible color is two very stark strips that I'm guessing are supposed to be money pieces but they are not blended at all. I really wanted to love my hair but I left with a style I did not ask for but I had to pay for and that I do not love. When I expressed to her that it wasn't what I wanted, she disagreed with me and didn't offer to fix it. I'm disappointed with my experience and I won't be going back, especially because it was not cheap. read more

do NOT go here. unprofessional. ruined my hair. and then attempted to tell me 9 MONTHS later that I was never at their salon. beyond insulting. the stylist was unprofessional..insulted me and my mom..chopped My hair so uneven and horrible and attempted to COVER IT UP by styling it and said it was already like that. I requested a refund and they NEVER attempted to rectify the issue or apologize. they decided to back track after the fact. sorry, but you're not going to get away with trying to act like this wasn't done. beyond unprofessional. I have been a Shear Dimensions client for many years. Kim, Lois and Lorrie have each cut and colored my hair, and I have been thrilled with every cut. I change hair styles pretty frequently.  Luckily Kim, my usual stylist, keeps records of cuts and colors. When I want a change, she pulls out the iPad and we look for something new that will suit the shape of my face and the texture of my hair. She explains how different cuts will work with my hair, and she gives me her honest opinion as to what will look best. Her work is consistently excellent!  This past March I went from long layers to a short cut.  That week I started work in Manhattan. As I was walking down the street, a woman came up, tapped me on the shoulder and said she just had to tell me how beautiful my hair looked! I never had that happen in Manhattan before!  I was so excited,  I called the shop the next day to thank Kim, and let her know my cut was a hit!  I just came back from a wedding in North Carolina and everyone loved this last cut and color, too! Lois cut and styled my hair for my wedding. Because I didnt know how I wanted my hair or headpiece,  I scheduled a couple of appointments to try different styles.  The day of the wedding, my hair was perfect!  It was exactly what I wanted, and lasted all day and night!  I didn't have to fuss once! You know a great cut when you wash and style your hair at home, and you look just as great as when you left the shop. That's how my experience has been, and that's why I continue to go there. read more

Very rude staff. I walked in for a hair cut. Sign says walk ins welcomed 5 cutters doing NOTHING I was told to have a seat. After I waited 15 minutes wondering what I was waiting for some people walked in. They were lead to the back and their cuts began. I asked why , was told they have appointments.. I was floored. My cut never takes longer then 10 minutes. And I was told as soon as someone was finished I'd have my haircut and to have a seat and wait.. nah... never mind. I moved back to NJ after living 10 years in Florida. In a year I have tried several hair stylists and felt I hadn't gotten a good haircut in the last 1 1/2 years in NJ. It was frustrating. On an impulse I went into Shear Dimensions when I went to ShopRite. It is a lovely and friendly salon. Lois gave me a great haircut that I'm very pleased with. I bring my daughter here and am very pleased with her haircuts. We are growing her hair out and they listen and just trim her hair. Unlike a lot of other places that gave her a chop job. I am very picky about hair, even for a ten year old. I think it's important to look nice! read more

I'm new to the area and looked around at all the salons in the area to find my new place. I'm so glad I went with Shear Dimensions! Margaret was amazing and gave my hair an actual sense of style for the first time in years. She also gave me perfect directions to help me get to work since I got a little lost getting to the salon. I also forgot my thermos there and Maggie the receptionist called me so that I could come get it - so nice of her! I have been coming here for a while now. I came in not knowing who or what and they suggested Rachael. I've been a regular customer with her and she has always done a great job. I have done roots, highlights, conditioning treatments, cut, blow out and purchased products. I have gone from Long to medium hair length and have just not known what I want. I have been pleased and would recommend Rachael and the staff at this salon. My daughter and husband have both gone as well. read more

Pulling up to this place in the Shoprite strip mall, I wasn't sure what to expect - but I love my stylist! I will only see Becky, and she always listens to me and does a great job. The staff is nice, there are a ton of products, and they always work with my schedule. It is a little bit of a drive, but worth it for me. If you are expecting high-end and brand new/state of the art, this is not your place, but if you want great hair at a fair price, it is perfect. read more

I've never had a great experience with this place.. I've gone a few times, usually for styling... the first time was for my wedding back in 2014; I did a fairly simple half up, half down style.. by the time of my reception, my hair was a mess, pieces had fallen out of the million bobby pins that they obviously misplaced. I never did anything with it during my reception because we were having a good time, but my photos look quite horrible. It obviously wasn't a professional job. I most recently called in for a last minute hairstyle... I brought in a photo of a half up half down single braid.. I overheard the person that they assigned me with giving the job to another stylist after I showed her a photo, as if I didn't tell them what I was looking for... an older woman did the job in less than 10-15 mins tops, and the end result was far from what the photo was that I brought in. The third and final time that I visited this place I was looking for a blowout for an interview. The stylist never asked me what type of blowout I would like, she simply did a straight blowout when I was looking for more of a wavy/full body type blowout. My hair is already straight. Perhaps it was my fault that I didn't say so beforehand, but she just got to work right away without asking me what I would like. I would never return to this place. read more

Now, I am very picky when it comes to getting my hair done. I have gone to a number of places and this is one of the best places around this area that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get your hair done. The women I see is named Stacy. She is amazing. She takes her time and does exactly what you want done. She always checks with you to make sure you like what she is doing and will make a change if you need it. I usually get a cut, color, highlights and styling all for around $120 (and I have a lot of hair). I have recommended her to a number of people and they all love her. read more

Front Desk Receptionist basically ignored me while I waited over 15 minutes for my hair cut. I asked how much longer and she said "a few more minutes". I then waited another 10 minutes (I showed up 5 minutes early for my appointment) and still no service. So unfortunately I left the salon - and wasted my time. I don't mind waiting for the stylist, because I understand sometimes the schedule is off a bit if the prior customer arrives late. However, I do greatly mind being ignored and not updated "truthfully" regarding how much time I will have to wait. Poor customer service. I can't rate the hair cut, since I didn't get one. So this review is based on the Front Desk Customer Service Receptionist. Happy Customers = money. Customers walking out due to being ignored = no money. :( read more

I had recently moved to the area and had been going to the same person for years in Bergen County. I decided I needed someone local for the basics..blowout..curls etc. I gave this place a shot and the receptionist gave me an appt with Becky. I went a bunch of times for blowouts after that because she did such an amazing job. I recently began getting my highlights done with her. She has a true talent.
