I'm not the type to say anything but I asked for a basic French tip and the pink part was completely transparent, I could see the dirt under my nail. I originally came in for a gel manicure and mentioned that gel never seems to last very long on my nails. The nail technician told me that my nails weren't strong enough and recommended acrylic to make them stronger. I trusted his professional opinion and decided to give it a try. A couple of months later, during one of my appointments, I noticed that after the gel was filed off, there was green discoloration and what appeared to be fungal growth underneath the acrylic on one of my nails. I brought it to his attention, and he said that moisture must have gotten trapped underneath. I immediately asked him to remove the acrylic, which he did. What really concerned me was that after removing it, he was preparing to put another acrylic set right back onto that same nail. I expected him to address the green growth or at least leave the nail alone until the problem was resolved. Instead, he was ready to cover it up again. At that point I asked him to take them all off. That's also when I got a good look at my natural nails. They were extremely thin and weak--like wax paper. Every single one of them bent easily. I couldn't believe the condition my natural nails were in. That was my sign that I would never go back. I went in trusting that I was doing something good for my nails, and instead I ended up with severely weakened natural nails and a green fungal-looking growth on one of them. Needless to say, this experience was extremely disappointing. After being a regular customer for a couple of months, I never expected to leave feeling like my natural nails had been damaged. I'm now looking for a nail salon that actually cares about the health of your natural nails instead of simply putting another set on top of a problem. If anyone knows a good nail salon in the Woodbridge area that genuinely takes care of your natural nails, please let me know!

Some were great for a short while but after some time started falling short of my standards. That has not been the case here. I have been booking services at Lavo for around 5 months now and my nails have never looked better. For starters, they have an all-star receptionist. She is so kind and helpful and on top of her job! They are a very busy salon and yet I never have trouble booking an appointment. They are as accommodating as can be. Even when they miss my phone call, I instantly receive a call or text back. I have been serviced by several nail technicians and they are all so very talented. I never bother booking with a specific tech because I know that no matter who I see, they will do an amazing job I was recommended doing soft gel manicures and it has been the best decision ever made. My career is very physical so i would often have a lot of wear and tear on my nails but not with soft gel. The gel polish never chips and my nails have never been stronger. I am usually able to go 4 weeks with my nails still looking great but ready for a fill. I love this salon and as long as I live within a drivable distance I will never change. They are cash or zelle/venmo only. So be prepared. And in my opinion they are charging fairly for services considering the quality of the work. Thanks Lavo!

Hank was incredibly accommodating and made time for me before a beach trip, which I really appreciated. I requested a nail design that resembled melting ice cream, and Hank was meticulous in getting every detail just right. He checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy before curing each nail. The final result was so creative and perfect for summer. What I didn't expect was that the manicure would end up in a very special photo; my partner proposed that weekend, and the nails ended up being part of a moment I'll never forget. I'm genuinely grateful for the care and attention Hank put into his work. Had I gone to one of the other salons, I know I would've been disappointed.
