The drive down to southern shore points like Long Beach Island, Wildwood, Atlantic City, and Ocean City from central NJ is generally uneventful back roads, but in the middle of nowhere in Cream Ridge stands TK's Ice Cream. They got their branding down with the amazing architecture of a retro ice cream shop which really makes it stand out as an appealing and welcoming place to stop off...and who doesn't love ice cream? It impressed us and caught our attention so much on the drive, that we made it a point to stop off on our return trip. I absolutely adore the retro architecture and inviting way they've set up the place. There are picnic tables with umbrellas where you can enjoy your sweet treat. We sampled the Oreo Cookies & Cream first, but it didn't have a wow factor to it, so wound up going with the cotton candy and pistachio. Both were really good. The cotton candy had bits of candy embedded within the ice cream. The pistachio was high quality with actual pieces of pistachio in the ice cream. They definitely hit the spot and broke up the monotony of the drive from the shore. Overall, I'd rate them 4.5 stars, but happy to round up for the great retro ice cream shop vibes which you really don't seem to see much of these days. It's definitely a place I'd recommend and return to. They are cash only and prices are a little on the higher side, but not unreasonable as portion sizes are decent.

The ice cream here is amazing and so worth it. You get huge portions and you get the ice cream extremely quick. The energy is really happy because all the families around you are just chatting and having a good time. I highly recommend

This place is pretty good. It's close to home & my kids like the photo op. There is a line but it goes by quick. The shop is cash only. There is outdoor seating & it's very family friendly. So far there's only one item on the menu that I like & it's called peanut butter blast (I think). The selection for mixed options like the peanut butter one that I love isn't that big -- only 3 options: brownie, peanut butter & one more I can't remember. For this reason I took off a star. I would definitely be back for the same cup of Icecream.

The lines are long but it's worth the wait. The ice cream is AMAZING. The atmosphere is nice and there are ample tables and parking spots to choose from. I haven't seen such a variety of banana splits in a long time and they have several kinds of soft serves as well as toppings. There is also cherry dip for the cones which is also unique and perfect for a refreshing summer treat.

Such a great experience for gluten-free ice cream and the amazing cookiewich. They have a special gluten free menu with great selections. They take the necessary precautions for gluten-free. Will be back for sure!

Where else can you get Dole Whip outside of Disney? Sooo yummy and refreshing!! Worth the drive and the wait (yes it's true there are long lines everytime I've passed it but that's because it's good!) they only take cash though so be prepared (they have a ATM there just in case). The regular ice cream is yummy too!

TK's ice cream is one of my favorites in the area! I'm moving soon and I'm so sad I won't be here for their next season. I loved the small town, family-centric atmosphere they provide, and the young folks working at the counter are always cheerful and responsive.

No line on this Thursday afternoon but it has been known to wrap around the building. Cash only, ATM available

Sometimes you're just in the mood for TKs. In addition to stopping in whenever I'm driving back from LBI or new egypt speedway, I've driven out of my way from home (which has ample local ice cream shops) to get a TKs sundae. Or a shake. There's both soft ice cream and hard ice cream, with a ton of flavor choices. The toppings are numerous. They'll make up any combination you want. There are patio tables to enjoy your creation. I will say it gets really crowded even with their ample parking lot and I've had to use the tailgate option back at the car. Try and avoid the typical crowd days/times. You will find its worth the trip. S Cash only but there's an ATM available.

Holy cow I wish I stopped here sooner. It's always on the way to the beach and it's always packed whenever I drive by. First of all the menu is packed with wonderful items so there is plenty to choose from Milkshakes, hard and soft ice cream, ice cream dip, edible cookie dough, Italian ice ect. The chocolate milkshake was huge but it was so good. Now I just want to try all the ice cream flavors. My friend got the edible cookie dough and was very happy about that option. Hands down going to be a place I stop to visit often.

I've passed by this ice cream shop so many times over the past few months and wanted to stop in but…read morethe timing was never right. It's in the adorably quaint town of Allentown. The Main Street area is so beautiful, especially by the water/bridge I always want to pull over and walk around. Finally we made a special trip to Heavenly Havens! There's reserved parking directly behind the building so you don't have to worry about trying to find a spot on Main Street. I always appreciate that. The building is an sweet old house that has a small front porch with a couple small tables. Inside the interior is very clean and modern (see my photo). They had a good amount of small tables and definitely kept up on keeping them clean. There was a steady line of customers but the 2 young workers seems to keep up just fine. I had no idea what I wanted to order because they seriously have SO many flavors and they all sounded so good! I settled on the "Turnpike" which was a vanilla base with Oreos, peanut butter cups, and fudge. It was SO delicious. My husband got something called a "Scooby Snack" that had chocolate and cookies in it, also really yummy. In addition to hard ice cream they had soft serve, a few non-dairy ices, and even a few vegan varies of hard ice cream. Definitely something for everyone. You could also take pints to go from their freezer case and they had ready made ice cream cakes that looked and smelled amazing! The staff was very professional and friendly and we all left with happy bellies. We'll be back for more!

I would not recommend this place bottom of the barrel.

I could easily buy the ice cream at the Halo Farm location next to the…read moreTrenton Farmers Market (and I do!), but sometimes I just want to go to this place after dinner, wait through the inevitable line, and sit down and enjoy some ice cream that's honestly as good as or better than any of the fancy brands at the grocery store. They've an impressive range of flavors, and I try to always try a flavor that I've not had in a long time, however I need to have my chocolate cherry more often than not. It's also very common to see people walking along the counter to pick their flavors. If you haven't made a decision, and the people behind you in line know what they want, do the right thing and let them go first. They give healthy scoops, and one scoop, although it doesn't sound like much, might be enough for someone with less post-dinner space available in their belly. If it's your first time visiting, watch the scoops being given to the person in front of you before making your decision. As an added bonus, during Spring and Summer Saturday nights, they have live music in the room as well. It's a cheap, fun date.

We recommend the shop if you know what flavor you want…read more If not, you are clueless regarding the flavors because supposedly since Covid they stopped giving free samples. However, every other ice cream establishment in New Jersey and elsewhere continues the practice of offering free samples. The really silly point is that the spoons are disposable so no disease would spread from the patron to the ice cream container should the patron be infected. And if the shop purveyor had something you would get it anyway since they scoop your ice cream. Please change this practice.

In fact, my main reason for coming was that I was curious about those. But after a meal in Btown the pale, medium sized specimens that had likely sat in their warming case for hours did not beckon me. So I checked out the 8 or so "artisan" options and decided on chocolate. All of the flavors appeared to be closer to gelato, but maybe because they were displayed in metal tubs as gelato places often do. It was dark looking and appeared to be dense, but the flavor was not dark. It was dense but not creamy. The best thing I can say about it is that it was not overly sweetened. My friend had the coconut flavor, and she was not wowed either. It's a cute shop that has housed other ice cream businesses in the past. I liked those more. But there are interesting items for sale such as candy, teas and gifts. The website states that they are affiliated with the Candy Jar in Collingswood, of which I have had occasion to visit in a previous life. Customer service was 4 stars, maybe I'll get back to try the empanadas......
