In fact, my main reason for coming was that I was curious about those. But after a meal in Btown the pale, medium sized specimens that had likely sat in their warming case for hours did not beckon me. So I checked out the 8 or so "artisan" options and decided on chocolate. All of the flavors appeared to be closer to gelato, but maybe because they were displayed in metal tubs as gelato places often do. It was dark looking and appeared to be dense, but the flavor was not dark. It was dense but not creamy. The best thing I can say about it is that it was not overly sweetened. My friend had the coconut flavor, and she was not wowed either. It's a cute shop that has housed other ice cream businesses in the past. I liked those more. But there are interesting items for sale such as candy, teas and gifts. The website states that they are affiliated with the Candy Jar in Collingswood, of which I have had occasion to visit in a previous life. Customer service was 4 stars, maybe I'll get back to try the empanadas......

As we waiting for our ice cream sundaes to arrive, the servers came outside and gave us fresh popcorn. It was such a small but sweet (and tasty) gesture. The owner came out and gave us our ice cream sundaes and chatted with us for a while about the life of an entrepreneur. She was so kind to give us so much attention and information on her life starting businesses in the local area. The mission of this shop is so pure and you can tell that the ice cream parlor was built with so much love. The ice cream and mango italian ice were both fantastic. If you are in the area, I hope you get the chance to visit and have conversation with the family.

I think in many of our cultures, getting ice cream was somewhat of a treat and possibly enjoyed while on summer vacations. In this environment it gets even better. That was my mindset when seeing TIP for the first time. Clean and brightly colored shop with very nice outdoor seating options. Going inside you encounter a clean, colorful and brightly lit space with a few more tables. The counter was plexiglassed ala Covid style. Cases held about 12 ice cream choices, with maybe 8 more ice choices. Several options looked appealing to me. I went with old faithful chocolate and paired it with something I've never had, banana split. While I liked the chocolate, I really liked the split. It did remind me of getting sundaes and such as a child. The flavors were clean in both, and not overly sweetened. A better than average creaminess, but not in the upper tier. I'd get either again, or maybe one of the rotating flavors. The ice cream is not made in house, I was informed that it is sourced from local makers. I have a few suspicions as to who they might be, but of course more research will be required;). I really enjoyed talking with the owner and his two sons. To say this is a family business and or a labor of love is just barely hitting the mark. I'm tempted to tell the whole story here but I think it's better for the curious to just visit themselves. This is a business I would love to see thrive for many years. And as they succeed it could offer hope to other businesses or even families. Trenton needed this.

I've always enjoyed great customer service and never made a complaint about any products at ANY location...until now. This weekend, I ordered the Chocolate Devotion with Silk Almond Milk icecream from the East Windsor location, Saturday evening. When I took my first bite, the chocolate chips were so hard and old, I nearly cracked my tooth! Since this is my usual order at Coldstone, I knew this wasn't the usual way it tasted. I went back inside the store and stood in line for 15 minutes to ask if they could replace it with a different order because the chips were stale. The young lady behind the counter said,''We haven't had anyone else complain. That's just how we make it. We can't make you another order.'' When I asked to speak to a manager, she said,''There is no manager here. Do you want me to call the corporate office? You'll be waiting a long time.'' I repeated that I would just like something different, not a refund. She shrugged her shoulders and said,''Well, I don't know what you want me to do. We don't really do that here.'' Rather than make a scene, I informed her I would be making a complaint to their corporate office and she once again shrugged and said,''Okay.'' As I stated previously, my family loves Coldstone. With so many locations closing, I would assume the remaining stores HOPE to stay in business. Hey OWNERS- if you're reading this: Serving stale food and having a cavalier attitude about it is a sure way to shut yourselves DOWN. Judging by the comments here, you'd deserve it.
