A window is either clean or it isn't. I got an estimate for cleaning windows, and the job was assessed and priced accordingly (a few windows were high up). They missed lots of spots in various places, including whole windows. One of the hardest windows to get to was clearly not clean. But Ricky stood there and said "It looks great to me." I reached up with my finger and drew a line through the dirt. Ricky: "You saw us with the pole doing this window." I said "yeah I saw that, but it's not clean." Ricky: "That dirt is really hard to get off." Me: "I just ran my finger through it, no it's not." He literally argued with me about the quality of the work. Then he offered to take $100 off the $900 price. All this happened very contentiously. Finally he got one of his guys to go over the window again. After that, even with some windows that were clearly not fully cleaned, I just wanted him off my property. Though my windows were not cleaned perfectly, they certainly looked better, which is why I gave a second star.

I encouraged them to come out first to assess the job before quoting -- they assured me someone would, but no one ever came. When the technician arrived for the scheduled power washing, he was visibly annoyed and unprepared. He even seemed to be angry with me about the driveway situation. When I asked what the person who supposedly came to assess had said, he admitted no one had actually come to look, and thought he could just do it via Google Maps... Still, I tried to keep the job moving forward. We agreed over email that he'd return with a portable washer and charge a pretty substantial extra fee. I was happy to pay extra given the circumstances, and asked for confirmation in writing that he still wanted to do the work, to which he replied: "I'm happy to take on the project." On the morning of the scheduled appointment, I sent an additional text to confirm that we were good to go and received a response confirming we were on. I then cleared all outdoor furniture, kids toys, our grill, planters, etc the morning of the appointment. But then JUST before the scheduled time, I received a last-minute text: "Actually I'm going to pass on this work -- it's not something I'm interested in dealing with." I fully understand that a contractor can decline a job. But doing so after multiple confirmations and hours of prep on my end is incredibly unprofessional. This company had every opportunity to bow out earlier, and instead chose to waste my time. I would not recommend S&S to anyone looking for reliable or respectful service.
