Edinburgh's new TK Maxx has had a bit of hullabaloo about it for a while and now that it's finally open, everyone is going crazy about it!
I managed to pop along today and it was a great shop to visit. Whenever you enter from the street, you are greeted by racks of handbags, but once you go further back, it turns into shoes and jewellery. The customer toilets are also on this floor which are useful if you don't want to pay at St Andrew Square.
On the first floor, there is womenswear and homewares as well as the cash desk. The homeware department was great and had so many beautiful things to browse around! There are also great views out to Jenners and the Scott Monument from this floor.
On the second floor, there is menswear, kidswear and toys. The menswear department is extensive and has a good selection of clothes to choose from. I bought some school supplies from the men's accessory stand which was money well spent considering that a Quiksilver pencil case and Jeep wallet which only came up to £16! Great prices.
The only annoying thing about this store is the escalators do not continue on from each other, forcing you to walk to the other side of the floor to get to the next one.
Since the store had literally just opened, there was a huge parade going up Princes Street with TK Maxx workers holding out big bunches of red balloons to hand out.
I'm glad that we finally have a huge flagship TK Maxx in the Edinburgh area now. I'm sure Primark must be fuming about it stealing their thunder! read more
