Well staffed, good variety and value. There were very little to no lineups on a Monday afternoon. Some sections were a little messy but over all a good Primark!

I have to say I enjoy coming to this store and I have been few of the fortunate to never have experienced the mayhem. I remember one of my Edinburgh friend's loathed the fact there was no Primark in Edinburgh and every time she came through to see me, we headed straight to Primark from Glasgow Queen Street Station. Haha!! To be honest I never did mind this at all. Good times! So when, at last, Edinburgh had there very own Primark, it was a little bit of heaven. The first time I visited was when I was staying in Edinburgh and I had completely forgot my night clothes. Doh! What to do?! I went on Yelp for help, of course, and there, opening at 8.30am, it was the delights of Primark. Yay! This was my chance when out for my breakfast I could swing by and pick up some jammies and cosy slippers. I tell you it's definitely the best time to shop, it was dead. I had the whole shop to myself. I was just gutted I didn't have long as I was off to work not long after. Each time Angela B. and myself have been in Edinburgh we have a NEED to stop by. Angela said she thinks the stock is a little better/different from the Glasgow stores. She knows her Primark stock, I swear she lives in Primark sometimes. Hehe!! Every visit, it's been fine and not too busy. We must just pick good days and times and it's been a fun and a good experience. There's plenty of mirrors on the shop's floors and we've been able to try on some of our precious finds. It's affordable and we can spend quite a bit of time in there, lost in ladies lovelies, dresses and coats. The scene from Father Ted did pop into my head while we wandered through the bras. Hehe!! It's good for bargains but definitely pick your time to go and you will have a great experience with great purchases. Walk out empty handed from here? Nae chance!

For my Americans, amazing place! Cheap prices, good style, and lasting quality. Compare it to Forever 21. Enough said.

Review Highlights - Primark

Although this is Primarks's fault and not the staff -we would continuously get it in the neck for the lack of staff which is completely unfair!

It's a delightful boutique geared towards an older style of fashion and a slightly older audience. The dresses and coat sets are timelessly fashionable, lending their inspiration from the elegance of the 50s. Some of the hats and skirts reminded me of how Audrey Hepburn looked in My Fair Lady when she was parading around at Ascot. The cocktail dresses look like they'd fit like a glove, and are all very high quality. They are priced accordingly, but it would definitely be worth it if you were going to a wedding. Places like Chique are few and far between these days, but it's great that this little boutqiue still exists as it has the older fashioned manner of customer service (i.e it's friendly and personal!), and the dresses are gorgeous. If I was getting married I'd usher my mum in here.

As soon as I looked into the windows of Chique, the first thing that came to mind was old lady…read morefashion, which was provoked by the outdated sign and boring window displays of co-ordinating twin set and pearl outfits. However, on closer inspection, I realise that this store is actually anything but dowdy and charity shop worthy. It is a boutique clothing store stocking Mother of the Bride outfits and cocktail dresses from designers such as Gloria Estelles and Linea Raffaelli. Probably not household names to any of us under 30. They have loads of lovely outfits and dresses which would suit the older lady, maybe 40 plus, and they are costly to say the least. Expect to pay upward of £160 for a dress in here, and that's the cheaper end of the spectrum. The website probably showcases the outfits better so you can have a look before you go in, the only disadvantage be that there aren't any prices on the actual clothes. Always a sure sign of an expensive shop!

Situated in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh, Lady JoJo's Boutique is just around the corner from the Royal Mile and it is a short walk to the main shopping street in Edinburgh, Princes Street, and so it is a convenient place to reach. This store is relatively new on the Edinburgh clothing scene, and it is a definite welcome addition. I love to come here and browse the shop and admire their beautiful stock. The boutique is pretty small inside but it boasts a beautiful selection of dresses, tops, trousers and accessories. I bought an absolutely gorgeous dress here several months ago, and it cost around £50, but it is of excellent quality and I wear a lot when I go out so it is definitely good value for money. The stock changes over quite a bit, so I find that if there is something I like, its probably best to buy it there and then rather than waiting a week and finding out its not longer on sale - that has happened to me several times!! The staff are really friendly and warm too. Lady JoJo's is a great place to go to buck the trend and buy your clothes from a non-high street store.

I was drawn inside by the kitsch sign and the funky name. 'Lady JoJo's' sounded like my kind of shop. I wasn't disappointed when I stepped inside, and was greeted by the two lovely young shop assistants. The stock is sparse, which one of the said assistants explained was because they were simply testing the water to see what kind of stuff people liked best. Rails of gorgeous retro swing dresses and frilly knickers really caught my eye, as did the old fashioned dresser table adorned with gorgeous jewellery and seamed stockings. The boutique oozed with the retro glamour of Betty Paige and 1950's style, which is quite unique in Edinburgh and stocks ranges such as 'What Katie Did' and 'Love Kills'. A handmade necklace with two chunky red hearts emblazoned with 'Pin Up Girl' really caught my eye. I bought the necklace and was pleasantly surprised when it was only £8, with a 20% discount complimentary because the shop had just opened. Perfect! I will certainly be visiting in a couple of weeks when it is more established and full of gorgeous Pin Up clothes and jewellery.

I guess you could see it as an investment as the dresses are all classics and most of them won't date so you'll always have a gorgeous dress on standby. In addition to dresses they also have shoes, handbags and various other accessories to complete your outfit but these come with a hefty price tag too. I was ecstatic when I saw that ASOS have started selling Karen Millen but unlike pretty much everyting else they stock these babies rarely find themself in the 70% off section... sadly. The shop is very organised and everything is just so glamorous, when I get my high flying job (hopefully soon) I will make a trip to Karen Millen with my first pay packet to buy one of the beautiful dresses rather than just drooling over them from afar. So if you're looking for an extra special dress with the "wow factor" and have a generous budget to spend then march yourself along to Karen Millen!

Probably my favourite of the nicer high street shops since the offerings, especially the tailoring of the dresses, seem better overall than many comparable shops. While it's certainly not a budget option, if you can it's a great place to splurge on a special party dress for example. They have sales a few times a year and you can easily find beautiful items, including dresses, for under 100 quid. The dresses I own from KM from almost 10 years ago still look great. This shop is a bit small but carries what seems like a well-curated selection from the overall collection with classics and trendier items. The quality of much of the clothing is comparable to items from other brands I've seen that cost 5x as much. Fabrics are mostly synthetic, but good quality. And sales staff has always been very helpful, even from my first visit when I came in frazzled and soaked to pick up a last-minute Christmas gift. Worth popping in if you want something pretty and stylish but aren't quite ready to burn a hole in your credit card at Harvey Nicks.
