This place has great wings for a great price. They are on the larger side. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because when you order a large order of wings they don't let you do split sauces. As someone who has worked in kitchens for years, I know this is a simple thing to do. I also don't like how they only have 4 sauces for you to choose from. It's not a wide selection. I've been here once for a pickup and once in house. My in-house service was pretty slow. The waitress was nice but took forever to bring the food, and wasn't great about refills. I have been here a few times now when invited by friends. For being a neighborhood bar, this place does a pretty nice job. Lots of TVs, an outdoor patio, a good selection of beers on tap, and a solid menu. Sadly I do not eat wings, so I cannot comment on their namesake, but I hear they are very good from my wing loving sidekick, Bernie D. However, I will recommend the Mexican nachos and the bosco sticks. The only major complaint I have is no matter how crowded it actually is, it always feels super crowded. The tables are too close together and there is not much room to move around. I think I hit the chair of the guy behind me about 5 times by the end of the night. Service is good, but nothing to ride home about. This reminds of the type of place you go to get the same thing every time, and it has not changed much at all over the years. Have been to this TJs twice. The first time the wings were messed up and not what I ordered, although what I got was pretty good. The second , and maybe last, time I sat in the bar area for 15 minutes with no one waiting on me. Multiple servers walked right by and no one stopped. Finally I walked out. We wanted some bar food and wet drinks after we hiked. This was the place. Plenty of seating, big screens on every wall to watch whatever sporting event your heart desired. Fun and friendly waitress, even when she was spilling the beers all over her hand. The appetizer menu offered many deep fried varieties ( mushrooms, zucchini, onion rings) it is still vegetable even if you bread it right???? I wanted the pretzel bites, but they were sold out, the waitress said between the wings and the pretzel bites it is what they are know for. The rest rooms were clean and well stocked. My family and I just left this restaurant after waiting for 20 minutes. Several servers and waitresses walked by, and not even one of them acknowledged that we were there. The place did not seem busy, and any one of the servers, waitresses, or hostess could have said they'd be right with us, but no. One waitress was eating off a customer's plate behind us, and another made four trips for water, ranch, and other "necessities " for the table in front of us. We will not ever return. read more

Haven't been to this place in a long time, but so glad we stopped by on a whim tonight. Great wings for our appetizer, and excellent deluxe pizza for dinner. The crust was perfectly crisp. I live right across the street from Tj Wings. It's a very convenient restaurant and they have the best wings. Sometimes the waitresses can be slow and it seems like they forget about you. Must be a local favorite because it is off the beaten path. Very busy. Nice covered patio. Food is average. Toasted ravioli tasted like it just came out of a bag and dropped in a fryer. We got the 12 piece wings coated in a mild sauce. They were good. If you want ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce it is an extra cost. My ceasar salad came with dressing on the side eventhough I asked for it to be tossed in. Came to this place with some good friends of mine. Initially got greeted by the bartender and were told to pick our table out. No employees were wearing any masks to start off. As we settled into our table getting ready to order a server greeted us, and told us she'd be right back. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the staff. Food is good. Service is great. But keep in mind that if you choose to use a credit card (like what...everybody does?) that they will charge you an extra fee. It's not like their prices are lower to reflect that. Most places credit card processing fees are a cost of doing business...at least post signs that it's a cash only business. Nice little neighborhood bar with a lot of regulars esp. at the bar. Several choices on the menu. I like their hot and honey wings best and the burgers are thick and juicy. I had the taco salad last night. The meat was served warm. Everything else was good, like the service and atmosphere. I woke up with uncontrollable stomach issues. After reading online what to do about food poisoning the first thing it suggested was to let the restaurant know of possible problems. When the restaurant opened today I called and informed the person that answered the phone that there might be an issue with the taco beef. I simply asked her to check it. She became irate and proceeded to use profanity towards me. I was just trying to prevent anyone else from suffering like this. It is 14 hours later and I still can't function. If I don't improve by the morning I plan on taking trip to the hospital. read more

Quick service in a sports bar atmosphere. Drinks came out quickly with salads right behind. The salads were crisp and fresh, my only complaint is that they didn't have an oil & vinegar dressing. My one and only visit to this place was enjoyable. TJ's seems extremely family friendly. The food was typical neighborhood bar/grill fare. The bar is prominent and had quick service. Signs indicated there is a trivia night each week. The prices were reasonable and everyone appeared happy. Surprisingly enough, me and my husband tried TJ Wings on Valentines Day. We generally do not celebrate the holiday, but my son's school was offering a parent's night out for a couple hours and we took advantage of it the freedom. We didn't want a fancy restaurant so we decided that lets go and have a few drinks and wings. The food is good for being bar food. We had the skinny fries (good), fried mushrooms (really good), Hot and Honey Boneless wings (great flavor), Hot Bone in Wings (so so). The Hot are not hot, but someone recommended the Cajun. The food was wonderful. They were about 10 minutes late for delivery from The ubereats app. But well worth the wait. I ordered the chicken fingers with steak fries and key lime pie. My family and I dropped in for an early lunch , my son in law from Houston had never been before and we had talked about the wings many times. We ordered a couple of pizzas and wings and some ravs , the waitress brought our drinks and all the necessary hardware for our meal and the ravs arrived shortly. They were nicely done, crisp and meaty , the wings arrived soon after and the pizza came immediately after. Everything was nicely prepared , the wings were large and meaty and perfectly cooked , the pizza was covered with molten cheese on a crispy crust. TJ Wings is one of the absolute most hit or miss restaurants in St. Louis. We go a few times a year, and it is so frustratingly inconsistent. This is a hard review to write because I WANT to like TJ Wings. I hate to do this but I can't write this review in any way other than a Pros/Cons list. Pros: Hot and honey wings. Love, love, love the sauce. Delicious! Great to place to watch baseball and hockey games. During playoffs they've always got a packed house and everyone gets into it. Patio is great year round. Cons: Inconsistency in the food. We'll go three or four times and then find something we really like on the menu. We go back and order it again and it tastes completely different. Service. For the most part- it's lacking. It always, always seems like our servers go missing for extended period of times. It's such a struggle. I like the patio. I love the wings. I've had a couple other meals there that have been great. And then, the rest of the time I just sit there, disappointed it's only mediocre. read more

My son and I stopped for lunch. I had sweet tea to drink and it was good. Chicken strips were good and chili was nice and spicy, perfect for a cold rainy day. However, when I asked for a little more tea I got unsweetened tea. Not a real problem as I drink both, but not what I expected. Just about finished with meal anyway so I let it go. I decided to take 2 chicken strips home to eat later and I asked for a small container of Ranch Dressing. Imagine my surprise when I dipped my chicken strip into tartar sauce, not Ranch Dressing. So we like to go shooting at OnTaget right by TJs and they said the food was good so we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately they were out of the first two drinks I ordered so it just started off a little rough. The service was slow, but in all fairness I think our waitress might have been new. This was my third stop for the evening, I thought for sure a place serving wings and burgers, listed as a bar and grill open till 1:30 a.m. would have food available at 11 o'clock. Two weeks ago Saturday my boyfriend, my eleven month old son, myself and 4 friends went to Wing's in Valley Park for food, drink and a good time; this was not the first time we had been to Wing's but would definitely be the last! We all met there around 5:30 and easily found a table for all as they weren't too busy. After my experience that night I understand why! To the left of the room we were sitting in is a "game room" there was a group of kids in their sports uniforms around 8-10 years old running wild, yelling, standing on chairs/tables and nothing was said by anyone. To the right of where we were sitting was the bar; I don't have to tell you what kind of foul language was being used by the crowd at the bar; glad my son was not old enough to understand what was being said; again nothing was said. We had been there a couple of hours; had a few buckets of beer, appetizers and then dinner; as with any child my son was in a high chair and like most; he needed to eat as well. We gave him a few fries, his baby food and some snacks - cheerios to be exact. As the night went on I commented that he was making a mess and we would need to clean it up before we left. No sooner than those words came out of my mouth, "The Manager", came over looked at us and asked if we intended on cleaning up our mess. My first reaction was "EXCUSE ME"! He then said do you let him make a mess like this at home? I explained that he was eleven months old and unfortunately does not always hit his mouth; and yes he does do this at home and yes I clean up the mess at home and would clean up the mess in his restaurant. Still in a state of shock I shook my head as to clear my thoughts as he walked away. He then returned with a broom and dust pan and said "Here you go"! He then stood there and watched as I cleaned up after my son. My Boyfriend returned the broom and dust pan. As we were walking out the door the Bartender, who happens to be the owners son; felt it necessary to start verbally attacking me by calling me a pig and a slob in so many words, for all to hear. Almost as though he wanted to pick a fight with us...... My point here is simple; we spent well over $100 dollars, we were not loud or obnoxious like the children to the left of us or the drunks at the bar to the right of us! We were not finished with our drinks or our night; yet "The Manager" decided for us that it was time to go by asking us to clean up after our eleven month old child at that moment! Our Waitress was embarrassed, apologized and assured us that she did not mind cleaning up the "mess". The Bus Boy was embarrassed and also offered to clean up for us. We cleaned up "The Mess" ended our night early; took the rest our money with us; which The Manager obviously did not need even though there were empty tables throughout the establishment. Guess Wing's has their preferred guests and does not need new customers or good reviews from others. Guess they don't care how many people hear my story and decide not to stop in for lunch, dinner or a drink! I hope you think twice before entering their establishment; customer service isn't their strong suit; fowl language, drunks, "okay" food, and a rude, disrespectful, punk for a manager, and a Momma's boy Bartender who can do whatever he wants cause Mommy own's the place is what you will find! read more
