The shopping spot has popular shopping, businesses and eateries. There are 70 locally owned or national chain businesses of every type. Food options include anything from fast food, international foods, fine dining and even a European style pub. Want to watch a movie? You'll find the Cinema Cafe. This popular area is in the crosshairs of the city for redevelopment. City Council has approved plans to demolish half of the retail spaces and build 4 multi family apartment structures, a clubhouse and pool. Less than half the square footage would be retained for retail space, I can't imagine the effect that adding 322 new apartments will have on this already extremely busy intersection. Area schools will also become more crowded. Are there plans to deal with this problem in the heart of busy Kempsville? Where will the forced out small businesses go that could have the same foot traffic as Kemps River Crossing? Let's keep Kemps River Crossing as a shopping center rather than a change to a multi purpose residential commercial development.

Each time I turn into the shopping center from Kempsville Road I directly face the beloved spot that no longer exists. The shopping center is located on the northwest corner of Kempsville & Providence Roads. It provides convenient one stop shopping for residents in the area. It's easy to stop for a car wash at Green Clean Express when I'm returning from a doctor appointment in Chesapeake. The L shaped center is anchored by a Food Lion facing the Providence Road entrance. In addition to the previously mentioned businesses the shopping center houses numerous popular fast food restaurants, Music & Arts, Ivy Rehab Center, a pharmacy, cell phone store, hair & nail salons and much more. It truly is one stop shopping. The facade has been upgraded over the years. It's clean and has plentiful parking. Entrance & exit on busy Kempsville Road can be difficult during peak traffic. It's easier at those times to take advantage of the traffic light at Providence Road, even if your stop is on a Kempsville Road out parcel, such as Green Clean Express. The shopping center will always be a stop for me, even though Frankie's Ribs is now only a part of my memories.

Woods Corner is clean, has plentiful parking spaces and a pleasing exterior facade. It is quite a distance from my house. So it was probably a one time visit. The shopping center is anchored by a large WalMart & is adjacent to Woods Corner Shopping Center. Kempsville Crossing is quite a distance from my house. But a tenant is my favorite ice cream store, Sundae Scoop. Believe me, it's worth the drive. There is plenty of parking but no handicapped spots close to the stores entrances. Clean and with a modern facade, it gives the appearance of a pleasant place to shop. Joining WalMart & Sundae Scoop the center houses fast food spots Subway & Pizza Hut, Kelly's Tavern, China Kitchen and neighborhood necessities such as hair and nail salons, a dentist, bank and more. I particularly love the ease of finding a business while walking along its sidewalk. The name of each business is listed on a small sign below the sidewalk awning. The simple signs are identical in style and very helpful. This is a shopping center I'll most definitely return to for my ice cream fix, being certain to take home extra pints for later.

She was patient as she searched around for a little while. I've been thrifting and searching for vintage fashion since I was 16 and I can honestly say that this store's vast inventory is impressive! I appreciate that each piece seemed thoughtfully selected because many of the items were in excellent condition and the prices are reasonable, compared to the many curated stores I've been to. I could literally spend hours in this store! I'm so glad I had an opportunity to check this place out before I return to San Francisco. If you're looking for amazing vintage gems...look no further!
