I absolutely love bargain shopping, so I had to stop visit this TJs! This was your typical TJ Maxx, with rows and rows of items and sections of clearance items. I found a cute shirt at a great price- woo hoo! Checkout was quick. The cashier didn't say a word- definitely needs to work on her interpersonal skills. I am giving 3 stars for the unfriendly service and how cluttered the aisles were. I have been to many TJMaxx, but some how this was one was different. What I noticed is that this store was clean, neat, well organized, and no clothing off the racks on the floor causing obstructions and/or trip hazards as I have encountered in other TJ Maxx. Although on this day this particular TJ Maxx, was full blown busy. As any other TJ Maxx, this store carries the usual fare, hand bags, men/women, and children clothes, shoes, jewelry, perfumes etc. Staff working there were very sincere, diligent, polite, welcoming, warm smiles and very helpful. This TJ Maxx, was extremely busy for a Friday, afternoon that even staff appeared to be surprised as to how busy they were, but they all worked together like a well oiled machine. This was a great TJ Maxx, the only reason they do not get a 5 is because they weren't connected to a HomeGoods or a Marshalls to double my pleasure. BUT their designer section was GREAT, they had several 100% cashmere winter coats and some stuff from Rag & Bone which is normally super expensive. read more

Very disappointed in this store. I wanted to try on panties. I understand they are panties, so they need to be protected. I would have tried them on over my undergarments. These were not average pantie sizes. They were S, M, L, or ExL. I was between 2 sizes. They would not let me try them on. So I decided to purchase them and try them on over my undergarment, then exchange them if they didn't fit. They said I couldn't do that either. They said I could not return the undergarments. However, I did replace a Sports Bra. Not only that, but TJ Maxx's policy regarding undergarments clearly states that you can return them if not used. See attached. The cashier I was working with did not make this decision; she did use her walkie to ask a manager. The Manager was responsible for the decision. However, the cashier made it very clear that she was frustrated with me. She was sighing and rolling her eyes. I remained friendly but not a pleasant experience. Who doesn't love a discount store? Like most other TJ Maxx's this one has some great deals and some "deals" that aren't actually deals. I was able to snag some great deals on houseware items, undies, and clothes. The shoes here aren't priced as low as some other discount stores. This is one of the better organized TJ Maxx stores. Items on shelves and racks were stocked nicely. The store was clean, and even the bathroom was reasonably clean. This store even had adequate staff on hand. That is definitely a rarity. It was odd to me that All of the purses have security tags on them......even purses priced under $40 had huge security cables and locks on them.....even, the $30 purses. Maybe they have issues with theft here?? Anyway, this is a nice clean store with lots of "stuff." Just make sure that the discount price offered is truly a discount. read more

Just a heads up, Don't buy jewelry from them! I bought this gold necklace and after a couple of months one Little Rock fell off, went to the store since it's real gold and it was a little over 150 bucks and the store manager said she couldn't do anything, "it's been more than 30 days and since our price is way lower than regular stores there's nothing I can do" BTW, the price is not even that different from Zales as an example, I just liked the style and bought it from them, my purchase had nothing to do with the price, anyway, lesson learned. Also, I never asked for my money back, just wanted to exchange since they did have another one on display or maybe fix my necklace. Will never buy from them again! read more

**my first negative review I've ever posted** REVIEW FOR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM EMPLOYEE AND MANAGER: I've been an EXTREMELY loyal customer for this TJ Maxx since it opened and I will not be going back there. And I will tell all my friends and family to not go there either. I've always known the employees and managers at this location are second class compared to even Ross and Walmart. And tonight was the icing on the cake. You guys need to send your employees down the street to Chick Fil A or Kohl's because I know without a doubt that this wouldn't happen there. I came to this store and checked out at 9:30pm when they closed. I realized I left my phone at the store at 9:35pm so I drove there and called Judy (lady who answered phone) at 9:40pm telling them I was on my way and that I saw on "find my iPhone" that my phone was still there she said she would look to see if it was up front. She put me on hold and came back and said she didn't see it and I told her I was almost there if I could come get it myself. She said they couldn't open the door after 9:30pm but I was pulling up so I walked up to see if they found it. As I was standing at the door I was pinging my phone from my watch so I knew I was connected and that it was in there. THIS IS THE RUDE PART. However, when I went to the door and knocked at the window a girl walked up and looked like she was going to get someone for me to talk to. Judy (the lady who knew I called and knew I was there for my phone) told her to ignore me and walk away. I was standing right there where they all saw me and I kept pinging my phone and it was making a noise so I knew they heard it. I stood there for 25 minutes as employees kept walking up and as Judy kept telling them to ignore me. I was appalled. I finally left after 30 minutes of being obviously ignored, even though they knew I just wanted my phone. Finally my mom called the store and talked to Judy again and Judy said only a manager could open the door. My mom asked if a manager was on duty and she said yes, she asked if I could come back and if the manager could open and give it to me. She said yes. WHY COULDNT SHE HAVE OPENED THE DOOR WHEN I WAS STANDING THERE FOR 30 MINUTES?? I drove back and the manager on duty walked up rudely and opened the door and handed me the phone, not even looking at me. My two main concerns are: 1. Why couldn't they have had the manager open the door to hand me the phone in the first place. 2. Even if they really couldn't have opened the door, they could have showed they had my phone so I knew it was there, rather than actively ignoring me so rudely. Goodnight and goodbye. read more

I, too, have recently had a run in with Judy. I don't normally name people, but after reading the most recent reviews, I felt it necessary to contribute toward documenting a pattern of behavior. My issue was different- I asked if I could buy a box that didn't have a price tag- but it was a similar 15 minute long circus that ensued, up to and including her personal decision to recruit management to her cause, unbidden. I went ahead and reported my experience, but they have not, as yet, followed up with me. I guess I'm not, given the slow response from Corporate, shocked to see that, after the previous review, she's still upsetting customers unnecessarily five months later. This has not been adequately addressed in a way that has made any lasting, permanent impact. The next customer and manager should understand it isn't actually their/the customer's issue that is the problem, but how it is being handled: customer needs help, mayhem ensues. Which I think, has, heretofore, been the assumption/position taken up by management: that the customer is the problem. (I doubt Ariana the manager was properly informed by Judy with regard to the request: Judy handed her a dissimilar basket and she priced it accordingly. She basically made an equivalent offer. I don't think she was properly informed with regard to the disparity or about what was actually occurring on the floor at the hands of her subordinate, which is why I wanted somebody to take a look.) Additionally, we have noticed a number of things: the overall condition of the store and the level of customer service provided is in decline. (We started noticing problems whilst holiday shopping last year.) Many of the items for sale lately are quickly broken due to over-stocking the shelves (items are rubbing up against each other and falling off onto the floor) you can't hardly walk between aisles anymore. Items are also frequently missing price tags, and I've learned if you bring an unmarked item to their attention, you will be met with suspicion at the Southlake store, and it looks like they may be having a serious problem with theft, which is causing them to respond poorly to honest customers, which can be costly in terms of a decline in repeat business. They no longer stock items I used to come in for, like the sterling silver earrings, for example. Probably due to theft, in retrospect. I have also experienced issues with customer service when close to closing time, as the other reviewer has also noted. Many employees on the floor, but only one (and sometimes none) cashiers available, while the others are hurriedly moving clothes back to the floor. About a week ago, I arrived seven minutes prior to opening. I remained in my car, but others pooled around the door. At exactly time on the dot, the door was opened to them, meaning someone was standing by purposefully counting down the clock. When I walked in, there was a store meeting taking place in the center of the main walkway, such that we had to move to the furthest aisle to reach the back of the store. There were racks and other things in the way. When I left, no one was at the registers, in spite of the line, and the meeting was still happening. On my way out, an employee made a remark about why we all had to be there at store opening. The day I purchased the other baskets, a woman I assume to be the manager came out of no where to watch me awkwardly remove the nesting dolls that were the interior baskets without any offering of assistance. She continued to stare at me until I walked away toward the registers. Something else I've just noticed: their page is unclaimed. They don't care. It is a shame. I really loved this store, as you can see from my previous review. I want to continue to shop here for the great deals, but I recently learned receipts don't mean anything to corporate: even though I still have my original receipt from the previous purchase, the item appears as stationery, and there is no link to the item's true description accessible anywhere. I could have purchased a hamster, for all they know. There has been evidence of poor decision making for some time, and poor follow up and thusly, I have anxiety about interacting with the present staff any further. The last review about the phone really caused the sum of our experiences to fall into place. I'm not sure whether I can continue to shop at this, or any other location, in spite of the amazing deals. read more

Buyers Beware- You get what you paid for. Fast fashion nightmare- I spoke with the customer service rep recently to see if it's possible to get an exchange on the cheap merchandise their selling, but that was not possible. I purchased this item on Friday it broke over the weekend. This store is great for disposable items and I even have a few items that lasted over a year from them. But there is NO consistency in merchandising or quality. The reps aren't paid enough to be knowledgeable on these matters. If you like a good bargain stick to your local thrift store! read more

This T.J. Maxx is nice and organized. Very well-stocked. The problem is the purse department. Many purses are securedwith a security cable. I like to take purses over to a mirror but that is impossible in this store without getting a sales person involved. Many purses cannot be removed from the rack because of the security cables. I have never seen this in a TJ Maxx. There must be a lot of theft in Southlake! This location is OK for everything except purse shopping. read more

The selection is nice but I recently went there wit my sister to find a dress. While looking, I overheard the manager, blonde girl named Chelsea I think, yelling at an employee. YELLING! They were in the shoe section and she didn't seem to care that she was just yelling in the store FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR at a young girl for not putting the shoes back correctly. I went over there and told her to calm down, as the young girl was on the verge of tears, and she seemed to finally realize what she was doing. My sister has been going there for a while and said this manager has always been awful. She is rude to customers and employees alike and I hope that she has been talked to. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I love going to Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Homegoods. I spend hundreds/thousands of dollars at these stores on a monthly basis, so I feel like I am a very good customer. Less than a month ago, I purchased a top for my daughter at the Southlake, TX TJ Maxx location. It was $9.99, but very cute. She wore it one time and the entire back of the top got snags from top to bottom and the hem along the bottom of the top unraveled with strings hanging down. Granted, I did not buy the top this way, but after one wear, this should not have happened. I brought it in to return with the receipt and the tag to the top. The manager, Richmond Frank, was anything but helpful. He said repeatedly "I am not going to take this back." When I asked him why TJ Maxx doesn't stand behind their merchandise, he just said that the only way he would take it back is if it had tags attached so he could resell it. I have worked retail and am well aware that they are able to damage out defective/sub par merchandise, but he refused to do this. Needless to say, I will not be shopping at TJ Maxx again. I would rather pay full price and do business with a store like Nordstroms that stands behind their merchandise and doesn't hassle a good customer over a $9.99 top. Richmond Frank has zero customer service skills and zero business skills. How he's a manager is way beyond my comprehension. Stupid. read more
