I love TJ Maxx!! I love their home section especially!!! I used to buy a lot of clothes from there but I have to say their clothes in my opinion have gone a bit down hill regarding they mostly get in crop tops or oversized shirts. I guess that may be the "in thing" these days but not everyone has the body for cropped shirts or oversized shirts! I give the store 4 stars because it could use way better organization and cleaning. It was a little dirty the last few times I went shopping. Also they need to hire more staff, because there were no carts available when I walked in the store. As I was driving out of the parking lot I saw a bunch of carts just sitting all over the parking lot. Apparently people are too lazy to either bring them back to the store or closer to the store even. read more

This location is in the strip center behind the Middletown Mall. Its near Home Goods, Michael's, AC Moore etc. Parking is easy. Sadly, the store is not. Its usually disorganized, looks a little run down. However, when needed you can usually find something you may need. read more

The employees at this store are friendly, and the clothes are brand name for less. I found the store to be clean, organized and bright. I was in a rush, looking for a dress for a wedding the next day, and I easily found several beautiful dresses in my size in the correct section. The dressing room was clean and well lit, and made falling in love with a dress (or two) easy. Right outside the dressing room, they had tons of shoes that were trendy and coordinated well with the dress I picked for the wedding. read more

The new manager is so rude and racist I'm a black women and I went Into the bathroom to change out of my sweatshirt into a t shirt that was in my bag for when I get too hot and the women who has been following me around the whole store every second I was looking around she was slamming on my bathroom stall door and screaming at me to get out because she knows im "stealing" and when I came out sweatshirt in hand she grabbed it out of my hand excused me of stealing it even though she saw me walk in with it on and searched through my bag and my cart which was outside of the bathroom and took pictures of the trash can because it has a little bit of plastic in it which she thought was merchandise that I apparently stole?! She looked through my cart and accused me of stealing many items that still had tags and just sitting in my cart cause I was going to try some clothes on because they restocked but she said that having them in my cart is stealing and she will be checking security cameras and also continued following me even after I came out of the bathroom and payed for everything she told me that I will not be welcome back even if the cameras didn't see anything. I do not recommend going there, the staff are nice but the manager walks around and starts unnecessary problems that might cause trouble for kids parents or just regular adults like me. read more

Customer service is awful. The manager Clarissa (lady with purple curly hair) is very very rude and unprofessional. Every time I visit that store, it seems like the employees are not wanting to help customers and are not very welcoming. Clarissa just looks unhappy and doesn't want to be there. Big fan of this TJ. It's always clean and organized, they employees are SUPER friendly and there is always new items on the shelf's. I work 2 mins away so basically go a few times a week and I'm always going home with Awsome finds. I almost never pay ice 20$ for anything. And TBH the rewards credit card is SO worth it, considering the store is not just clothes, I get makeup, shoes, hair products, kitchen products, snacks. EVERYTHING! read more

I go to this store quite often. I've never had an issue with it until today. Today, December 22, had me in a pretty decent holiday spirit. I love to help people, and today I saw two people looking at jewelry. When looking conflicted, I decided to approach them to help out because I have a pretty decent style myself. I didn't think much of walking up due to the fact that I always like to help people when they look conflicted. As I approached the people and asked if they needed help, I was welcomed with a "I'm sorry who are you?" I kindly said, "I am emily. I know choosing jewelry is difficult, abs I have a pretty good sense when it comes to choosing things like jewelry." Not pleased with my answer, the woman said, "And do you work here, Emily?" I kindly said "well no, but I was just offering my help." Putting an arm on my shoulder, the woman pushed me away and said "well than no thank you." As I walked away I heard the man she was with ask her who I was. She replied mockingly and said "Emily who has a good fashion sense." As I was in the line to the cash register, I had realized she works there. She however, was not wearing a name tag, not anything TjMaxx related. Had I known she worked there, I would not have approached who she was with to help. However, by no means should a person, let alone a worker, talk to a costumer or person like that. I might be 17, but I am a person, and the way she treated me was not a way in which one should treat another. read more

When trying to return an item without a receipt (with TJ Maxx tags still on the item) I get an attitude and this particular store says they can't do a store credit, item isn't in the system. I go to the very next TJ Maxx and they scan it, take my drivers license info, it's magically in the system, and I receive store credit for the purchase I made a few months earlier. This particular location (Dunning road Middletown) refused the return, with rudeness, more than once. So, we don't shop there anymore. Strange how other TJ Maxx's have a certain policy and are friendly, and this one does things differently. Too bad. read more

The store has come a long way and compared to a lot of other TJ Maxx stores is very clean and easy to find what you are looking for. The associates are very professional and helpful! And I have been to over 25 stores up and down the East coast. I highly recommend!! read more

I shop at this TJ Maxx pretty regularly and have never had a problem. I went earlier this afternoon to buy some clothes for my son and was happy to actually catch some good finds because typically it is a hit or a miss. The line was long at checkout but I didn't mind as it usually moves pretty fast. I was next in line when the beeper rings and says to go to register 4. I waited there for a long period of time being patient waiting for a cashier to help me check out. The cashier at the next register over would look at me then call for the next customer to come. About 6 people that were behind me in line were able to check out as I was left standing there with no assistance. I finally said enough is enough and left. I think it's ridiculous to have a checkout line open when the cashier leaves to open another register. The communication and customer service was very poor today. read more
