Target - The scene of the 'busy' Starbucks where they just can't get a simple order right

This is NOT a Super Store. It's big, it's flashy, it's bold…read morebut not Super. There is no bakery and no deli so there it is. It does have s Super Size Starbucks that is understaffed with barely competent help. I brought in my own cup and asked for a double Cortado with 2 Splendas & non-fat milk. She gave me a paper cup, misplaced my plastic cup, I didn't get the 10% discount and she forgot my Splendas. There were two people working and one other person in line and one other waiting. You get the standard Target goods here just a lot more volume, meaning more stuff. I REALLY don't like the exit from the parking lot. It's near IMPOSSIBLE to make a left turn with all the VOLUME of traffic now that there is a nearby Costco and Lowes Foods. You're better off to make a right turn and go a 1/2 mile and make an U-Turn in a designated turn lane. It's a recipe for accidents. The CC reader didn't work. I wanted to get my Circle card discount but it would not take the 'tap' or 'slide' option. I tried each several times. The girl said 'it's new and glitchy' There is a MASSIVE parking lot with plenty of free parking.

Pretty sure this is the first time I have noticed this being in a store. Again it is new so will see if these items are the same then but in the meantime, a good experience.

I was here for a Yelp event at Postino, but I showed up early enough that I had time to wander, and…read morehonestly I'm glad I did because this whole area is far more impressive than I realized. Ballantyne has been developing at a pace I clearly haven't kept up with, and suddenly there's this whole little district with a mix of restaurants, an outdoor amphitheater, a big open grass lawn where people can sprawl out or toss a ball, a playground tucked off to the side, and that general sense of activity that makes a place feel like it's actually being used and enjoyed rather than just built for show. Since I still had time before the Postino event kicked off, I walked down to Olde Mecklenburg for a beer. It was a bit too cool to sit outside in their beer garden, which is usually the move, so I settled inside and it was exactly the kind of comfortable, familiar brewery vibe that makes you want to linger for a second round even when you know you shouldn't. Parking is three hours free, which is generous for a place this busy, but you do have to register your car. If you stay longer they'll charge you, and if you don't register at all they'll be less than thrilled, so it's worth taking the extra minute to do it right. The whole setup makes it easy to spend an afternoon here without feeling rushed, which is probably why I ended up enjoying the pre‑event time just as much as the event itself. I will say we really enjoy Copain's French Onion Soup and Quiche, and the staff has been great there, but that's it for the restaurants. Also, restaurant prices are outrageous for what you get. Too bad, we've lived in Ballantyne almost 11 years and truly were looking forward to the Bowl.
