Let's start with the pros for this location. I found many deals and good quality clothes and shoes from this particular store. However, service can be improved. I was looking for a particular cosmetics which was locked. I called for a help for 4-5 times and waited about 10 minutes. Nobody came. I finally turned to an employee at the jewelry department and she called one of her coworker. When I told her that I had waited over 10 minutes, she replied, "I was looking for you on the other side." The issue here is that I ran the bell(?) at the cosmetic side and the location she mentioned was the other department. It is not a big store and I was standing there over 10 minutes looking around to see if I can any employees. Just simple sorry would have done it insteading making a lame excuse. I want to start off by saying that I came here specifically to check out their home and bakeware section. They always have the gems. And on this visit the baker in me made a joyful noise unto the Lord because I found some very high quality pans for a VERY affordable price. Usually these pans are $15+ for 8" or 6" even, so to find it at least half that price and with so many, I'm convinced I struck gold. The line moved relatively fast and my cashier was a pleasant older lady. I would definitely come here again specifically for their hidden gems in the bakeware section. Not usually one to leave bad or sour reviews but iam deeply disappointed and disturbed by and experience with management, their behavior towards customers and employees is not only unprofessional but blatantly racist and discriminatory. After personally witnessing this manager speak down to staff members, targeting individuals based on their race and ethnicity with disrespectful language and demeaning treatment, during what seemed to be a busy hour, after unfortunately grabbing the attention of said manager for a price check I couldn't find, I left there questioning whether I'd get the information I needed, on top of this my friends that went shopping got treated with suspicion and outright hostility when heading to the register. No one should have to endure such a toxic environment, especially in a place of business that should value respect, equality, and basic human decency. It's alarming and sad that such behavior is tolerated by upper management or ownership. Until serious steps are taken to address this issue I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been in here several times, but it has never been a great experience. The store is usually very busy and very disorganized and the service is always super slow due to the lines being extra long. I live for TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Home Goods but this store not so much. It boggles my mind why corporate never builds larger stand alone stores or at the least hires more employees to work strictly on the registers so the lines aren't out of the control non-stop. I'd probably stay away from this location if you aren't willing to stand in line for way longer than you'd like to. Which at times seems like 20-30 mins. Yikes! read more

Pros: I love fashion and ever since I got a Alexander McQueen scarf for $60 it's been my go to spot ever since. Even at Tjmaxs retail value the designer clothes are good for the most part. Designer bag prices are questionable and you definitely can find them on the second hand market for a lot cheaper. If you see something get it right then and there cause whatever it is you like in that moment won't exist the second time around. I don't expect much from the sales associates here. So far everyone has been pretty relaxed. Cons: One security guard kept looking at me and checking me out, as if I was gonna steal. It's annoying and unnecessary. Double check the pricing on items and make sure they don't have any visible defects. Final thoughts: Go In to shop and if a security guard is eyeing you for no reason tell them to piss off. My wife went to this store and was a victim of a theft ring. She had her purse stolen and they did not have security. I would recommend that you do not shop here. They also provided a number to call and nobody answered. I called a family member in law enforcement and he explained that this happens all the time at TJ Maxx across the country. You can find good bargains but the store is filthy. No merchandise is ever in order. Management at all levels are unprofessional. People are robbing them blind. If you find something to buy, check it out thoroughly first because goods are often dirty or damaged. Clientele isn't too upscale either. I'm here often, so I feel I'm in a good position to review this store. For bargains and finds this is a good place to shop. My 3 stars is more about customer service and finding help when you need it. Also the women's fitting room is filthy. Not one time, but every time. This last visit which was a few days ago is what prompted me to write this review. I was trying on clothes and I spent about 2 hours in the store, so I was back and forth in different changing rooms. I was appalled at all the giant dust balls, dirt, hair, hangers, candy wrappers, tissues and mess in every changing room I was in. So I'm trying on things trying not to get them covered in dust and dirt. Why so dirty? I even saw ants in the last room I was in! What the heck! The store in general is pretty messy in a few areas, but that's to be expected when it's a hodgepodge of things. The customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes you can find help and happy to help and sometimes you get a sourpuss. It's TJ MAXX not Bergdof's so I get it. But can we please do better...or at least try? read more

Grateful to have the store in Edgewater! Love shopping there but Sats are super crazy with super long line since Sundays are closed due to the Blue Law in Bergen County. I don't know why everyone is throwing mega shade at this TJ! It's definitely one of the cleaner and more well-stocked locations of the chain that I've been too, and I always walk out with a new find. Sure, it's still not super organized, but that's just the nature of the store. It's supposed to be a mish mosh of bargain goods, and you're there to hunt through the mounds of clothes to find something perfect. If that isn't your style, then I suggest not hitting up TJ Maxx at all. But, if it is your style (like mine) then the Edgewater location is a great one to frequent. There are lots of goodies to find within the racks here. On my most recent trip, I snagged a suede Tahari blazer for 50 bucks and that made me really happy. It's like an indoor flee market that's less organized to say the least However I always wind up purchasing that one one inexpensive item that I keep for years here every time I enter the store. Today I found a dress I wanted to buy and a cute belt to go along with it ...when I went to the fitting room the lady in charge wouldn't allow me to bring the belt in with me which kinda annoyed me. The bathrooms today were also disgusting. No matter what day or time it is..the check out line here are ALWAYS super long and the cashiers don't move quick at all. So I wouldn't suggest coming here at all if your in a rush. All and all..I have a love/hate relationship with this place I would give it a overall rating of 2 1/2 stars read more

Our favorite store in Edgewater. Not sure if it due to pandemic or short of staff , lately the line to pay has been scary long , happy for the store but not so happy to wait more than 20-25 minutes in the line . Hope the upper management finds better solution to shorten the line . Maybe adding more cashiers or adding express lane for 1-2 item . Specially seniors are feeling very tired . Always huge huge line and not enough cashiers, no matter what day or time you come to shop. And even if it is enough cashiers they are two busy folding clothes behind the register Versus helping clients. I love TJ Max but the management need to be on the top of the coworkers and giving them direction of what to do. They are all overwhelmed. They should have separate people who are folding clothes after return behind the register. The phone service has a horrible, the WiFi not working. So many times I end it up leaving the store because at least you are in the line between 40 min and up. read more

i have to say i'm truly disappointed. I approached a lady that was stacking the shelves and said "hi" and before I could ask for help she immediately said "no speak english" in the rudest tone. However, little did she know that I also spoke Spanish ;) so i said to her in spanish "hola" and her jaw dropped to the floor. she looked annoyed and felt like a bother asking her for any help. on another occasion, i went in with my boyfriend to look for a pair of pants. like any other person, he wanted to try them on before purchasing them. so, we asked the lady folding sweaters in the front, she appeared to be the manager, or asst manager, if we could use the fitting room, and her immediate response was "no," and rolled her eyes. This TJ Maxx is one of, if not the best in the tristate area. They have an ample runway section with designer deals and finds. I took off a star for quality control. I purchased an Emilio Pucci sweater dress, and when the cashier removed the security tag it left a whole in the sweater. Same goes for a pair of Tods loafers and Valentino pumps. A further discount wasn't offered, nor an apology. Framingham needs to pay attention to this. Regular training and store audits are needed. They have the best selection of pet toys compared to other off-priced retailers in the area Overall, the staff and management here are friendly and attentive. read more

Holy cow!!! This store is filthy! Is this where grown people come to die... or abandon their kids? Being a good mama's boy... I like to take my mom wherever she wants to go. Well, she wanted to come here and this place stinks! While they have a lot of clothes, it seems the ones that are on the floor and under people's feet, are the perfect size and color for you. I don't know why there were kids wondering around the store crying... and I certainly don't know what's in this box that they are selling for $15.00! LOL How could a store so big, be so bad? There was a stack of clothes in the area where they sell food. Wait a minute, why are they even selling pickled peppers and, ewww.... what is that, chicken brains?
