I normally enjoy shopping at Tjmaxx but I had a very bad experience today at this store. I was returning a faulty item; a men's leather belt. A manager accused me of trying to return a used item, i insisted that the belt was never used. I put the belt on one time and the buckle detached. She then said to the cashier, "I don't have time to argue with him, just give him store credit" and proceeded to walk away. She was extremely rude and disrespectful towards me. When I confronted her and demanded an apology, she was unapologetic and wasn't interested in hearing what I had to say and walked away, leaving me even more upset. I was shocked that someone like that could be a manager. She should be fired or re-trained on how to treat customers with dignity and respect. I like to consider myself a true maxxinista and this is my local TJ Maxx. It is always hit or miss but if you come here early on Tuesdays I find you get all the new stuff. It isn't that big compared to a bunch of others I have been to. Like someone else reviewed the best discount you usually get for a damaged item is 5%, i got a painting here that was all scuffed and they only gave me 5 dollars off. I ended up returning it cause it really wasn't worth $45 dollars. read more

I have been several times in a situation to have one or two things to buy and I have to wait on the line for at least 15-20 min. No express registers! Of course... I will not wait for this! Drop my things down and move away! read more

I had not been at TJ Maxx for a very long time. I used to there at least 1x per week and over the years have spend thousands of dollars in this particular store. Yesterday I visited the store, it was awful in its merchandise organization. The staff were very rude. Everything seemed so dirty! I will never go back there. read more

This is the worst place to shop. The lines are always insane. You would think with the high amount of traffic they would open more cash registers. I just left. Waited 42 minutes to return something. Only 4 registers open. The line to purchase was pass the section to pay. If I was going to buy anything there the line alone with make me not even attempt to buy anything. They should really think about the exiting services there. read more

I had the worst experience here. The employees are awful and cannot mind their business. My child was engaged in attention seeking behavior and I was ignoring her but watching her at the same time. The older lady suggested i watch her and I said that I was. She then muttered what an awful parent I was. Prior to that, when I was ignoring the employee? She was gesturing to me about my kid, I guess she thought I didn't speak English. She was demeaning and prejudice. I will never step foot into that store. 2 1/2 stars? Judging by the lines on the weekend, I'd tend to think otherwise. Despite their limited clothing selection, I get tons of housewares and workout clothes from here. They probably have one of the best kitchen selections out of all the other TJ's I've been too, but you are best to go there on a weekend night, as I mentioned, it's a zoo on Saturdays and Sundays. read more

Had an unusually bad shopping experience here. Attempted to return a piece of costume jewelry valued at $30 . I presented my receipt ,sales tags , credit card and id. Manager Jennifer M. Refused to accept my return based on her" discretion". I went over the online return policy and wanted to know how this purchase was different. The manager became increasingly rude and dismissive then advised me to take it up with the company. Will NEVER support this store or encourage anyone to spend hard earned money here. I like their products and their price. They are not organized as they should be. But one thing that i really enjoyed was that i had to retur the pillows i bought and werent good for me, and was so fast and no issues, thats for me was the best thing! read more

I love this TJ Maxx! Every time I go I am able to find what I want for an outstanding price. Last week I was able to knock out a big portion of my Christmas list found some wonderful gems I know the receivers will love it. Parking lot is great for Ny lol. read more

Terrible experience at this location. As I was standing on line with two of the same wallets for my daughters, I noticed that one wallet was priced at $39.99 and the second was marked at $49.99. I assumed it was a clear mistake because it was the exact same wallet, in the same color. When I asked the women at the register about the different price tags I was given an excuse about the different shipments of the wallets. It was clear that the original ticket was ripped off, and a new one was printed at a higher price. The manger Yasmin, was whispering to ask the women at the register if I was purchasing both the items. I knew at that point that she preferred I buy only one of the two wallets, so that they could trick someone else into buying the higher priced item. Instead of matching the price, and looking at the other wallets of the same exact style and color on display for $39.99, they preferred that I leave with only one of my desired items before the holidays. I am disgusted and disappointed with the way this manger handled the situation. read more

This is a fairly well organized T.J. Maxx considering it's in Queens. The shelves and racks were reasonably neat. But like a lot of T.J. Maxxs, when it's crowded, you pretty much can't comfortably browse for anything. And for some reason, today when I first walked it, it looked like a dumpster has just blown through the store. There was litter and garbage all over the front of the store all under the shelves and in the aisles. That was not exactly a good start. One of the store assistants couldn't speak English - which is really not that big of a problem for me - but what I find awkward is when they just start speaking Spanish in response to all of my questions in English. Other than that, the employees were helpful. Sadly, most of the customers decided that Sunday was "douse yourself in cheap perfume/cologne day", so my visit was curtailed by asphyxiation. read more

I have been to almost all the TJMAX in NYC region and this one has to be my favorite . First of all let's start with the exceptional customer service. I would not spend my hard earned money at a place knowing the customer service is crappy. The associates are very helpful and are knowledgeable about the location of everything in the store.I couldn't find a price tag for a bra and two kind ladies proceeded to help me locate the price, this is rare for some locations as they say just look for a similar bra in different size on your own and take it to the register. The layout of the store is easy to follow the dressing rooms are in the front which is easy to get to instead of going to the back.There is a large selection of shoes sandals flats boots sneakers you name it they have it and in different sizes. The handbag department is also huge as well Kate spade,betsey Johnson DKNY nine W. etc. the jewelry department is also right in the front as you walk in. I found a nice pair of Nike sneakers for only 40$ ! Retail for almost 90$ and also a kate spade wallet for 40$ . I will also be a loyal customer to this store! The only downside is the long lines for checkout but it usually moves fast! read more

In the midst of the chaos caused by hundreds of brands and items, this TJ Maxx manages to keep organized. They don't switch things around which keeps things contistent even with such frequently changing merchandise. The bag section is always the bag section, organized by color. The jewelry is always next to that, followed by other accessories and shoes. Womens clothing is in the middle, organized by item type and size. Mens clothing is on the right side and behind that is childrens clothes. What makes me like TJ Maxx is the back of the store. I love taking a look through those isles to see what discounted treasure I can find. Sometimes it might be something small and a bit silly to get excited over, like discounted Jelly Belly jellybeans. But other times, it might be a unique picture frame that makes a perfect small gift. They have a bunch of knick-knacks back there and a seasonal section that is always fun around the holiday season. You can find a lot of interesting decorations and marked down Yankee Candle potpourri. There's always a selection of gift bags for $1 and these are cute gift bags we're talking about, not a solid one. There is also a children's toy section with books, Melissa and Doug puzzles and some Fisher Price items. If you have a child, go for the puzzles! They have mugs, aprons (my inner-wannabe-50's housewife wants one), gourmet snacks, pillows, frames, artwork, throw pillows, stationary, recipe books - you name it. Here's the thing - being as it's a discount store, some things have a problem. Check items for cracks or defects. Most of the time, things are okay (or it's something super minor) and you have a nice find on your hands. My best deal at TJ Maxx: a pair of Express jeans for $17, originally $80. I had a pair already but who can pass up a second pair of awesome jeans for next to nothing?! Generally, I can't find any XS or 0/2 sizes here but I lucked out that day. Most of the time, I walk out of TJ Maxx empty handed but I can't deny it's a fun place to have a look around. It's a must for around the holidays for the random goodies and possible presents/stocking stuffers. read more
