This is a nice little place for the family or friends to gather for some decent bar food and a cold beer. Went with my son on a Sat night and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. The beer selection was on par with an establishment of this type and there were plenty of TVs to watch your favorite games. It was a lot louder than I would expect for having such a small bar area. The food was really good. I got the wings with the Champs Hell Fire sauce and it was very unique, had a horseradish/wasabi taste to them. The pork chop sandwich was large, tasty and filling. Went there for a ball game. Had the nachos as an appetizer. Nachos were good but they drown them in shredded lettuce. Ordered a BLT and fries. The BLT was good but they put a third slice of bread on the sandwich which gave it too much bread. Atmosphere was nice. A good mix of fans from different teams. The biggest detractor was the place was freezing. It was 68 degrees outside but it had to be colder inside. By the time I left I couldn't feel my fingers. TJ Chumps is my favorite locally owned Fairborn restaurant. I've been a regular customer for about 6 months now both dine in, and delivery. When dining in, the service is fast and friendly. The menu is expansive covering everything from wings, salads, and sandwiches to burgers, steak, ribs and pizza plus enormous desserts. There's something on the menu for everyone, including the picky eaters. I wasn't a wings lover until I tried one on the Homerun appetizer and I've been hooked on Chumps ever since. Other favorites include the Chicken Tender Toss, Island Chump pizza, burgers and save room for a fudge brownie sundae big enough to share. There are specials offered every night of the week including my personal favorites: cheap wings on Mondays and Ladies Night ($0.75 well drinks!) on Thursdays. Booths are big enough to comfortably seat 8 people and the open floor plan makes it easy to push tables together for big groups. You can reserve a party room for special events as well. For takeout and delivery, our service has always been prompt. When calling in orders the hostesses have always been awesome and always help me find the best deals when ordering for large parties. Deliveries always arrive on time and sometimes even a little early. Perfect for a fast dinner on a night where I'm pressed for time. I have taken my family here a couple of times, and maybe I might be oblivious but it seemed awful pricey to me for a wrap that I had, my wife had a portabello sandwich and my son had mac and cheese, all meals were served with potato chips and we had 3 soft drinks. It came to 50 bucks, i about flipped my lid, I mean I literally could not believe it. I could almost stomach the price if the food did a little dance or talked or something but it just sat there and looked at me funny. The service was overfriendly but good, and the ambiance is nice for a sports bar. Please people bring the price down on your food; the food is not that great to be charging those kinds of prices. I will not go back because of the price, and I will tell people it is pricey for a sports bar and a non-recommend for dining. read more

This is the kind of place I seek. The food is good, not your average sports bar food. I believe their specials are monthly and that's where I look in the menu. Busy at lunch during the week; but a nice Sat/Sun afternoon place to hang out, eat, and have a couple of beers. Outside patio is nice but there is some highway noise. I go every chance I get. This place should be a 4.2--imperfect, but very good. You can tell by the way locals such as me patronize it. I read a couple of reviews that said it was loud. That surprised me. Maybe it gets loud during sporting events such as Buckeye football, which it should given its sports theme. But it's also a family restaurant, and I think it's a solid one. It isn't rowdy. It's comfortable. I've enjoyed it with family, work outings and dates. The menu is diverse. I wish I could say that every meal we've had there was on point, but there have been some misses. (The locals like the pizza a lot.) The bar isn't large, nor does it have an especially broad selection, but that could be strategic. I doubt ownership would want a bar that overwhelmed the family atmosphere. When I take a date there it's because I want to relax and/or converse (so I obviously don't think of it as loud). Finally, I think the best feature is the conscientious and polite staff. read more

What the Heck!! Yeah, it's a sports bar so what are you doing looking for a high end restaurant in Fairborn anyway? If that's what you want head for Oakwood. Seriously! For good food with a flair for creative in a "sports bar" family fun atmosphere Chumps is the place! I love the salmon and as I eat out often and nationally I can honestly say it is delicious. My kids like to have their burgers "spanked" and I often crave their queso appetizer or their dill dip and chips. The service is ridiculously fast and I enjoy never having an empty beverage. Went to t j chumps for lunch with my wife, we were first time guests and unfortunately we were last time guest as well. We always go into a new establishment with an open mind in hope of a nice time. Everything was fine with being seated and greeted by our waitress, everyone was friendly. Ordered 2 side salads for our app with extra ranch. The salads came out with no dressing and my wife's salad had a long female hair in it. Thats fine, mistakes happen. Ordered some wings tossed in buffalo and extra on side and a burger medium. Took awhile to get our food. Wings were very over cooked, dry, and small. Barely had sauce on them and none on the side. Burger was completely well done, dry, and no flavor. Our waiter ignored us the whole time. Could not get her attention. No refills. No sauce. No nothing. I was literally waving at her. Finally she came, I asked for my check and to speak with the manager. The manager was nice took 20% off our check. But regardless too many problems, not enjoyable, loud with kids screaming. Nothing draws me back for another try. So will not be back. read more

I called around to all of the sports bars in area to see who would air the May-Pac Fight. We called TJ Chumps and asked and the lady who answered the phone said that she thought so but asked the manager as well who confirmed this as well. They took my reservation and when we got there, they said they weren't airing the fight and they had no recollection of my call. I just ordered carryout from this place. I was very disappointed. I got a small cheese pizza and a Caesar salad. The lettuce in my salad wasn't even chopped thoroughly. The dressing had a very, very strong fish taste. I understand that Caesar dressing often has a fishy taste, as sometimes anchovies are used in it, but in 22 years of life I've never been served a Caesar dressing that tasted as much like pureed fish as this one did. The pizza was mediocre, definitely nothing special. The layer of cheese was thin, the sauce was sweet, but the crust had a slight salty garlicky flavor which was a nice surprise. Food was good, but the big attraction is the numerous big screen HDTVs throughout the restaurant with HD reception. Other sports bars promote their flatscreen TVs, but just offer standard definition reception. HDTVs are a big selling point for me when viewing a game/event. If a sports bar doesn't have high definition feeds, I walk out. So, if you are looking to view the big game on nice big screens, TJ Chumps Fairborn is the place to go. read more

I cater for my company at least twice a week and we ALWAYS choose TJ's for at least one if not both of the meals. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner from their catering menus and the food is always GREAT! It can be as fancy as chaffing dishes and salmon, to box lunches with a variety unparalleled. The staff is the best and they are always on time AND come with all the equipment needed (from something as simple as matches to light the chaffing canisters to the correct utensils) to serve my staff. My husband and I have been there a few times and the staff remembered us, and made us feel very welcome. Better to see the building being repurposed than sitting vacant, you make it what it is.
