    Housewares, candles, decorations galore

Whether you're looking for a special gift for a special someone, housewares, some seasonal spice for your table or home, decorations or a cozy throw, Tivoli has charming offerings. Teri, the owner, curates a beautiful selection of new and vintage pieces, with works by local artists as well. As a "cat person," I found a coaster set for our dining room table. A few weeks ago, I found a vintage set of salt shakers for a friend who collects things with squirrels on them. It's a delightful place to browse and she almost always has something new on display, even if you stop by regularly. I'll also say, Teri is a local and as such, don't be surprised to find her on a first name basis with her customers. Many stop in just to say hello.

    I'll take it!

This is a great vintage furniture shop! Interesting items every visit. My last visit I found a large fox hunt scene, had to have it but wanted to make on offer first. The lovely shop keeper gave me the owner Teri's contact and she reached out to me immediately. She was kind and accepted my offer and held the artwork for me to pick up next visit. I'll be back to visit this eclectic furniture and art gallery soon, maybe today!

The store is very well organized and has a little bit of everything. There are separate sections for men's and women's clothing, along with games, kitchen items, home décor, vintage treasures, and many other unique finds. Everything is neatly displayed, making it easy to browse without feeling overwhelmed. What I especially liked was the variety. Whether you're looking for clothing, a vintage piece, a kitchen item, or just enjoy treasure hunting, there is something here for everyone. If you're spending time in downtown Mill Valley, this is definitely worth a stop. It's a cute, welcoming shop and a perfect place to wander through after lunch or while exploring the area. Highly recommended for thrift store lovers and anyone who enjoys discovering unexpected gems.

I love the selection, have found fun toys for my daughter when she was young and re-donated when she grew out of them. I have found some great cookware i.e., Corning Ware pieces, small kitchen appliances throughout the years. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. And they often have some sort of promotion with '1/2 off days' or everything green 1/2 off for St. Patricks day. Oh, and they often have throwback music playing which adds to the kitschy ambience.

It struck me as a…read morepost-retirement hobby by an owner who justified his/her antique hunting to his/her spouse by pretending it generates income. I've been in zillions of vintage shops, but I've never seen a place with more "DO NOT TOUCH! ASK AT DESK TO SEE!" signs. The shoes, dresses, china, books... Everything was off limits. I was going to make a lovely collage of these plentiful signs, but, unsurprisingly, no photos allowed. Nothing was well maintained. Apparently the store owner is him/herself afraid to touch the merchandise, because nothing had been dusted or shined in decades. I'm sure the glassware and china would have looked lovely with some proper care. To boot, the prices were outrageous. I get that it's an "antique store" and not a flea market, but please. For example, a vintage travel bar set (suitcase with spots for cups and shaker) was listed at $195! I've been looking for a set like this, so I can confidently say that's 4x the prices on Etsy (not exactly a cheap spot) and 8x flea market and vintage bazaar prices for similar sets. Bottom line: overpriced and not great merchandise. (Besides, I'd never give my business to a store that was so offended by the notion that my touch might tarnish their wares.)

I wish I can give a zero rating for this particular store. My husband and I happened to come in…read moretoday on a not so busy Saturday afternoon. The old woman with the funny colored hair and way-too early for Halloween scary makeup looked up and barely acknowledged us. She barked at a couple of tourist for touching an item and followed everyone like a dog. She was so impolite to her customers that I felt so uncomfortable. I politely inquired if she carries any vintage cat items and again without bothering to make any eye contact she yelled "NO" - even though it was evident that she has a few all over the store. Talk about rude. I don't think I have ever been insulted like that. How unfortunate. I wouldn't mind supporting local deserving business but please don't buy anything from this store. The selections are mediocre, the owner is rude and you might get sick from the filthy store air. So beware everyone. I noticed also that she was not fond of people with foreign accents when she talked down to another couple who was merely looking at some item in her glass cabinets. I felt so sorry for them. I hope their experience with this store doesn't taint our image as being Californians. We're not at all like this lady. FOREIGNERS AND TOURISTS: if you're thinking of buying souvenirs, save your money and go to another store where you can be assured that you are getting fair and reasonably priced item. This is a definite tourist trap. The store itself smell like mold growing on the wall and very much like a thrift store. I know she's passing it as antique store but beware and read the reviews first before you go in. You'll find similar items in Goodwill stores. In fact there are better items in Salvation Army and Saver's store plus you will be giving to the needy. Whereas if you purchase her "vintage" item, she will most likely run with your money to buy more tacky and scary makeup. WARNING: don't be fooled by this lady. I will be calling the city of Sausalito and notify them that this is the kind of business that's representing their beautiful city and I sure hope that she won't be in business for long. Let's not support a business that advocate for UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE.

Fine Estate Sales will do their best to sell your product, or items in your estate. It is your decision to set a special price for an item, or, let their experts set the price. If you are not happy with this business, then let them know and negotiate. Be a business person and DEAL WITH the problem with the source. Deal with it as a business owner, instead of writing a long boring novel that lost my attention after merely looking at the size of the review. Everyone needs to understand, Fine Estate Sales, or any similar company, is not Macy's, Nordstroms, Nieman Marcus or Louis Vuitton, etc. So unless you set a price, or negotiate a contract before signing or amend the contract, there lies an agreement, hand shake, i.e. a contract. I understand you may not be happy, however, as I mentioned above, deal with it, and work with Martin and Valetta. They are here to make money for you and them. Thank you for everything Martin and Valetta, and miss The Candy Store.
