Quite possibly the most interesting food truck experience I have had to date…read more.. I say "interesting" and you might ask 'why?' Well sure, I'll tell you. Hiding behind a business building and off the road to where if you're not looking you'd never see them is this food truck like any other. The interesting part comes in when you actually arrive at their location in the parking lot and connector road between this business office building and the nearby strip mall. It's a food truck that aspires to be a restaurant - they set up tables, a couple of large pop-up tents, and plenty of chairs. They also have a staff that acts as waiters and table runners - it was the most interesting food truck experience for sure. After ordering at the table (you don't order at the food truck's window) your food comes out fairly fast and it is a massive serving regardless of what you choose. My cohorts had their pork and hamburger monstrosity of a sandwich, while I had this massive Columbian version of a sub - it was delicious as it was impressive to see. These meals were so big nobody finished theirs, but it wasn't for want of trying. The only nit I have is that we had to wait quite a bit of time for one of the servers to drop by and take our order - Though busy, it wasn't so much so we could have had our order taken a solid 5-minutes earlier. No matter, we luckily weren't in a hurry so it wasn't an overall big deal, but it was strange to have to wait so long for no apparent reason. Nonetheless, if your driving down Miami Lakes Drive, north of SR826, see the signs and drop in - you won't be disappointed...

They are over 30 minutes away from me, but I never hesitate to go when I'm craving some real Dominican street food. Their Picadera con proteínas is my go-to. They have different options for the protein and the sides for you to choose from. I always do Tostones with pechurinas (fried chicken), longaniza, carne de res, or cerdo frita. My mom loves their orejitas. When I'm craving a chimi, they are my go-to. They also have a special for chimis on Wednesday. I love their empanadas; they have an authentic Dominican flavor. Their empanada de pollo or pizza are my two favorites. Their Yaroas are excellent and very loaded. Their Rebulu fries are the perfect Dominican-style loaded fries. My family also enjoys their kipes. First of all it's a food truck and in fact it's two in one kind of spot. They have one truck for Cachapas and other Venezuelan items and then the have a Pizza truck. The kids had cheese pizza and we also ordered some tequenos and empanadas. Everything was really good but the star was the Cachapa. Is was simple yet perfect. The cheese had the right thickness but yet pull. The cachapa corn flavor was on point and even the crema was smooth and delicious. The Patacon was truly not too far behind. I ordered it with Chicken and it was moist and it also had a thick slice of cheese. With the Maduro style patacon it was the perfect sweet and salty combo that I love. Service was super quick and very friendly. They have plenty of seating. I would say the capacity is around 20 or so people and there was a line to sit. We fortunately got there before the line. I arrived as soon as they opened around 7 pm and ordered the original styled cachapa -- I believe it's number 9 on the menu. For $10 I got a nice portion of a freshly made cachapa that was delicious and my favorite part of it was that it wasn't greasy at all -- the cheese was so good, queso de mano and it was super filling! I will say the nata that goes on top was too buttery for my taste, I like it when it's the creamy nata flavor. But overall, you can't go wrong with this food truck, it's definitely a Doral gem! Although there is on-site dining available, I've always seen this as a takeout place. We live a couple of miles away, and it's a quick and convenient option for a truly authentic treat. And I ordered a "Toston preparada," which is two crispy toston buns, a choice of two croquetas, shredded cheese, special seasoning, and house made sauce topped with papitas. I also get a side of tots. I go to pick it up and the door is locked. I ring the bell, and then a lady comes to the door, asks if I'm Jason, and hands me a brown bag, like it's a drug deal or something. Hahaha. Oh my....that toston sandwich was delicious and the tots were crazy good. I didn't know tater tots could taste that good. lol.
