A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Hialeah - A Must-Try Cuban Pizza Spot! I've driven by this Cuban pizza joint in the heart of Hialeah countless times and always noticed it packed with people. Curiosity finally got the best of me, and I decided to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. The location itself has some history -- it used to be a Checkers years ago. The building is still small, with two drive-thru lanes, but they've smartly added an outdoor seating area on the side, giving an inviting vibe. I pulled up to the drive-thru and ordered a ham and cheese pizza along with a mamey shake. After paying at the window, I was asked to park in one of the numbered spots in front to wait for my order. Less than 8 minutes later, an attendant came out and brought the food right to my car -- super quick service! Throughout the entire process, the employees were genuinely friendly and courteous. Now, the food -- absolutely amazing. The pizza crust is that classic Cuban dough -- thicker than traditional pizza but not too thick -- just the right balance. It was soft, slightly crispy on the edges, and full of flavor. The ham and cheese combo hit all the right notes. The mamey shake was a standout too. It came swirled with caramel and topped with whipped cream. Creamy, flavorful, and the sweetness was perfectly balanced -- not too overpowering, just right. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more items on the menu. This place lived up to the hype and then some. A true local gem!

Service was a little slow on a small to go order but acceptable for a busy day on a Friday night. The place was full on the seating area and other people were waiting at the window of the old checkers location. Staff is very friendly and Cuban Pizza was really good

Coming here for decades. Now for the last time…read more Unfortunately the food quality has gone downhill while the prices have continued to go up. Their $10 house salad should be $5.00 and that is too much for what is given. Most of their pasta dishes are $20+. This used to be an affordable Italian restaurant but now they seem to be charging for what better quality restauants are charging. On my recent visit, the same male server who has been stellar before was terrible. He left us waiting at our table for water and drink refills, getting the food out on time and not letting it sit in the back (Yes, we know the difference) and finally getting the check. He really messed up, good. If we are going to spend the kind of money that is being charged here, I think we will go elsewhere. Sorry Dipiazza. All the family memories here are done.

I can't believe they have 4 stars. Came here on a date because it is such a cute spot that we saw…read morefrom the outside. We got a pizza which was $23 plus $2 for a topping and straight up cardboard. For that price I was expecting at least decent pizza. The most chewy pizza I have ever had. I've tried countless of pizzas, is hard to mess it up. But they did...badly. The garlic breads? Horrible. Hard. I left so disappointed with this place. I really wanted it to be good because it seems like a mom and pop shop but it was way too hard to look past it. Charging such a high price would be acceptable if the food matched it. Otherwise it is too close to a robbery. Olive garden and even Dominoes would be a better choice.
