Bistec with eggs, chilaquiles, refried beans and potatoes. (Tita's Breakfast)

Small dining area with a great authentic vibe. The food was fresh and delicious. Our waitress was friendly, courteous, and helpful when we asked her advice. Overall a great experience.

ANOTHER Mexican breakfast win for me! All I'd ever heard of was Huevos Rancheros, which I do LOVE, but... I also like DIFFERENT! And this time, I got to have Chilaquiles, which I'd never heard of, or tried, before. Just sayin', NOM!!! When the owner asked me how I wanted my eggs, I asked him what he suggested. He talked about over-easy, and on top of the Chilaquiles, and it sounded PERFECT. And it WAS! Wish they would've offered cocktails too, but I guess one should be happy to get breakfast at a non-chain restaurant in Big Spring, TX on a weekend. Call me spoil't! Friendly family atmosphere and service was great.

    Side of rice and beans.

I always judge how good the food will be by the rice and beans. After tasting them both I knew I was in for a treat. I got the green chile burrito and it was tasty. Right amount of spicy. I got the hamburger and potato burrito to go. Place is clean and my waitress was nice and tentative. I was just passing through and looking for a place to eat. I wasn't disappointed. If you're in Big Spring be sure to seek this place out. They are closed on Mondays.

I did like the front of their menu.

I have never left a bad review and never thought I would, but the way we were treated was completely unacceptable. I had just arrived in town after being gone for 2 years and wanted to spend time with my family and have a nice breakfast. It began when we asked for water/no ice, and they brought us a cold bottle of water. Totally makes sense and it technically was what we asked for, so no big deal, but I recently went to the dentist and my teeth were sensitive, so I asked if we could go ahead and just have room temp tap instead. Easy enough. They took the bottles back and brought us the water and chips and salsa that the waitress told us was complimentary. The whole time we sat there, the owner (I found out later) kept looking at me through the cooks window. I didn't pay any mind at the time and continued to eat some tasty breakfast burritos. After I finished, I went to go pay for our meal, and was originally talking to a young male waiter until the owner, whose name is Grecia, replaced him urgently, which threw me off a bit, but ok. She tells me my total, which is $13 and some change (2 burritos, makes sense) and asks if I'm paying with cash or card. I said, "Let's do card." She then said a different price, "that'll be $15.66" and I thought oh their must be a card fee, so I told her, oh ok let's do cash then, and I was going to add the 2 dollar difference to the tip we "wanted" to leave. Back to that later. She then repeated the same amount, and I was just curious as to why it had gone up and asked her. Mind you, it wasn't expensive, I was just curious. She replies rudely and tells me that her waitress told her that I said I didn't have money to pay for the bottled waters. (Which is completely false) And that I'm trying to get free stuff because I ate chips and salsa (at a Mexican restaurant) and asked for room temp water. I replied, "Ma'am, I didn't say that at all. We just asked for room temp water." She said, "it's just a few dollars. Can you just pay your bill and leave?" I asked why she was treating me like this, and she continued to say, "Why should we give you special treatment and give you tap water when we serve everyone else bottle water?" I replied, "I'm not asking for special treatment at all, I just needed a room temp water for---" and she cut me off and said "sir it's a few dollars, can you pay your bill and leave? And please don't come back." I was shocked. I turned to my family in disbelief and confused and a bit hurt considering when I lived in town, I went here when they first opened all the time and picked up burritos to go. I turned back to her and replied, "Ma'am, I don't ever want to come here again. I can't believe you would treat a customer like this, much less a person." She said," I just want you to pay and leave. Please don't come back." I paid the bill, and she said please dont come back again. I said, "I can't believe this," and just sat down to let my family finish eating, and I have to say that I was in the worst mood I've been in years. This whole transaction was crazy and specifically, the owners' treatment towards us was unacceptable, rude, and to put bluntly... disgusting. She came back to the table and gave me my receipt, which had the bottle waters added on there, so we were gonna take them to go since we bought them and never received them. (In other words, she tried charging us for things we didn't get. Apparently, this is a regular occurrence at this restaurant.) She brings them to our table, sets them in front of me, and says, "Here's your water, and don't worry. It doesn't hurt us any to give you water." Rudely, in front of my family when I was taking it fine and not trying to make a scene at the cash register (because it seemed like she was trying to). And I just sat there AGAIN in disbelief. I couldn't believe this was really happening in a town full of people I love. Again, I never do this and usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but this went too far.. from the owner... and all because of free tap water. I tried to tip the new waitress that had only been there three days on the way out, so there could be something positive that came out of this experience, but she said, "No sir, I can't take tips." So that didn't work out, either. Sadly, the only kind of ambiance we felt from the moment we walked in the door was judgment and contempt.
