This place didn't have many reviews, and to be painfully honest, our first choice just so happened to be closed on that day (and every day- they were closed permanently apparently). But lucky for us man... That picture of the chicken doesn't do the taste profile of the dish justice. Covered in a red chile sauce, it was excellent. So flavorful and perfectly cooked. A very small humble place east of Big Spring on the old Hwy 80 that takes you to ramp for I-20 West. This is a roadtrip experience! I stopped elsewhere today, driving south from Amarillo... food was terrible, greasy, greasy... ugh. I arrived here taking the Hwy 80, instead of the 20 East. Then I saw the big metal Chicken / Pollo in front, and went "Whoa!" Went inside, very basic. A short conversation with the cook, and I ordered a bean & cheese burrito, to-go. It was like Nana / Granny had made the burrito. It came with a jalapeño salsa in a cup, not really hot. Perfect, to keep me going to Dallas. Your results may not be the same. You can tell it is so authentic that they do not need fancy decorations on the wall or anything , just the particular Walmart chair and table set up just make sure the product is good. Is it for noon on a Saturday right before Super Bowl, sitting here for about 30 minutes I must have seen about a total of 20 people getting orders to go and eating in as well. There is not much really thought I menu except that I know that they have menudo today and it looked pretty good even though I did not eat that stuff. On the menu you had your choice of a whole chicken for about $11 or a half of a chicken for about $7. You can have your chicken spicy, or half-and-half. I opted for the spicy chicken with flour tortillas. It was very plentiful but I could not finish it because it was a little too spicy for my palate and I can tell you that the first my chicken was so tender that I could have cut it with my pinky. The lady that walks around to take a Warner and delivers for food I would assume is the wife of the owner as you can see the owner is most likely the guy behind the cash register. They are all very friendly as well as one or two other staff that came out from behind kitchen to see if everything was okay. Chicken a soft drink, there is a cooler in the back where you can retrieve your beverage, always get the Mexican Coke, do the right thing. Zipped in here on a Tuesday for a quick lunch at 12:15pm. Was greeted by the world's largest metallic chicken in the parking lot. Upon entering, I quickly regretted not taking any Spanish classes in high school or college. The place was empty but for one pleasant Spanish speaking gentleman, who happened to be the owner/cook. Their menu consisted of 5 dishes, fortunately with pics, all plastered on a wall. Telemundo was blaring on the TV. I opted for the "spicy" half grilled chicken plate. It was served to me in a styrofoam to-go box with 5 piping-hot corn tortillas, along with. Bowl of finely cut, flavored white onions & a bowl of fairly tasy (mild) house salsa. Oh yeah - a "salad" too (= lettuce pieces, a slice of tomato & a couple slices of cucumber). My mouth & tongue didn't melt, & my eyes and nose didn't water, so the "spicy" grilled chicken wasn't all that spicy to this Gringo. I pulled the flavorful, juicy chicken off the bone and made myself some mini-burritos using the tortillas, salsa, & onions. Pretty good meal, but I would have preferred a side of beans or rice to give me that nice "I over did it" fill. Too bad. The total, including a can of Diet Coke, came to $10.00. I'll probably try it again one day. The beef ribs platter pic looked good. 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 (because they could have had some Mexican music blaring in the background instead of a lame Mexican mews channel...). read more

Made a quick late lunch drive thru run here and I was not disappointed! I had the spicy chicken, it came with tortillas, onions and some salsita. I made me a few tacos and was very pleased. I also ordered the beans which were very good as well but the chicken was the star. Thanks so much, Ill be stopping by often. read more

If you're looking for a nice atmosphere and a wait staff forget it. This is a dive if I've ever seen one. But they make great chicken in the style that Mexico has made famous. They offer glass bottled Mexican soft drinks such as Coca Cola, Manzana, etc. The chicken is sold as 1/2 a chicken or a whole chicken in regular or spicy flavors. The spicy chicken is covered in an adobo sauce and both are served with corn tortillas. They offer salad (iceberg with a tomato and slice of cucumber) you may just need to pass on the salad. They offer beans, and colitas de Pavo, & menudo on the weekends. I just go there for the chicken. They speak little English so be prepared to use google translator or bring a Spanish speaking friend. Update: the beef ribs are really good. Served with roasted jalapeños avocado & salad. read more

Delicious Mexican chicken place in Big Spring. I've only had lunch burritos and their star dish, the whole and half chickens. Eager to try breakfast and some of the specialty dishes like menudo or ribs. Everyone around here should know enough Spanish to order, and even if you don't, it's pretty easy to hash out what you want. Reasonable price too. Reminds me of a hometown El Pollo Rico, which I miss from Central Texas. Don't be scared and give it a go! You won't regret it! read more

The burritos here are amazing! The tortillas or homemade and the meat is not too greasy. The prices are great and the food is amazing. Not much of a place with a wait staff but great to sit down and chat or to take the food to go. read more
