There are all kinds of "incentives" to sign up, but then you live with the monthly fees. In my opinion you have two choices in this industry - big company like Comcast, or a local company like OmniGuard. I picked and am staying with OmniGuard for three reasons: 1. The primary alarm monitoring system, through Alarm.com is bulletproof. We've had some alarms go off when we weren't in town. The police showed up. If there is urgent issues, they are on the phone with you immediately. 2. The service side - OmniGuard is local and will fix your issues. They are small, and sometimes they can drop the ball, but they always make it right. When you call they are respectful and helpful. 3. Price points remain stable - they don't jack you around after a year. The value remains.

Now, three years later I find out that they can't figure out why, since my system is on a cell radio connection only. I have found that any inquiries I have made either get lost or ignored. When pushed, however, the company has come through. The manager, Tina, told me she has only worked there since January, so she's not familiar with their products or systems. It's November! On balance the company is OK and the price is competitive. However, staffing and training seems to be needed.

I certainly made the fine locksmith at Altasta earn his $16 for my 4 keys!…read more I wish they had a tip jar out, but alas at least I can give them a great review. I lost the keys to my 92 Volvo, got a new set at the dealership, they didn't work, called a mobile locksmith (Locksmith Monkey another 5 star review on the way) who came out and hand-filed the key so it would work. Why? I don't know - a little here, a little there, and it finally started the car. So I went to get duplicates, and figured after that experience I better go to a pro. I **thought** you take a key in, and they just duplicate it in a thingamajig and it should have the exact same cuts? I guess not! Again the locksmith had to file down the key, take it outside in the pouring rain, try to start my car, come back in, about 4 - 5 times. FINALLY it worked. And I'm glad I had him make 2 spares so hopefully none of us will have to go thru this again. If you need ANYTHING lock related, or a nifty iron safe, or a gun safe, or a wall safe, or some keys for your vintage auto go to Atlasta! Bonus - it's super old school with walls of key blanks, no-nonsense keyrings, hide-a-key magnet thingies, color-coded things to put on you keys to keep them separate, they do NOT mess around!
