I certainly made the fine locksmith at Altasta earn his $16 for my 4 keys! I wish they had a tip jar out, but alas at least I can give them a great review. I lost the keys to my 92 Volvo, got a new set at the dealership, they didn't work, called a mobile locksmith (Locksmith Monkey another 5 star review on the way) who came out and hand-filed the key so it would work. Why? I don't know - a little here, a little there, and it finally started the car. So I went to get duplicates, and figured after that experience I better go to a pro. I **thought** you take a key in, and they just duplicate it in a thingamajig and it should have the exact same cuts? I guess not! Again the locksmith had to file down the key, take it outside in the pouring rain, try to start my car, come back in, about 4 - 5 times. FINALLY it worked. And I'm glad I had him make 2 spares so hopefully none of us will have to go thru this again. If you need ANYTHING lock related, or a nifty iron safe, or a gun safe, or a wall safe, or some keys for your vintage auto go to Atlasta! Bonus - it's super old school with walls of key blanks, no-nonsense keyrings, hide-a-key magnet thingies, color-coded things to put on you keys to keep them separate, they do NOT mess around! read more

I took a condo mailbox key here and made three separate trips while they repeatedly tried to duplicate it. None of the keys worked. After wasting my time and multiple failed attempts, manager refunded $4.25 instead of $5.25 he charged me. Unprofessional and incompetent service. read more

Spoke with Troy about opening a safe, he advised me they would be able to help Me at the shop. Went to the shop and they acted like I had stolen the safe and it was a crime for me to have it opened, despite having all the documentation necessary to prove ownership. The guy working (not Troy) was rude and dismissive. I left with my unopend safe, and went elsewhere and had it opened. I won't be back. read more

Great experience working with Richard, who turned a quick request around within hours. He was very helpful, and thoughtful in a stressful situation. read more

Wow! These guys are pros. Between Jim and Eric they were able to open my grandfather's safe and rebuild it as original. Super happy here!!

I have known about Atlasta for years and have had mostly good experiences. This last time shows that their customer service is starting to wane. I brought some key fobs in to be cut and programmed. The guy took my blanks, cut the keys and gave them back to me. I went out to my car and tried the keys but they hadn't programmed the transponder chip or the fob. I went back in and was told they can't program keys they don't sell - and they don't sell fobs. It would have been nice if they would have told me that before they cut the keys. I called 24 Hour Lock and Key and the guy did it in 5 minutes. Both the transponder and the fob. Unfortunately, I think Atlasta is not keeping up with technology and in the next 5 years will be obsolete. I will not be recommending them from now on. read more

Atlasta is a real lock and safe brick and mortar and they are mobile too. Much of the lock world has been usurped by big box hardware stores that today have key duplicating robot machines. And the rest is under attack by national firms that farm out the labor to the Uber drivers of lock work. Atlasta's store is packed with safes and a wall of key blanks. They have a good selection of security padlocks, chain by the foot, and even entry door locksets. They duplicate chip/radio car keys at a very reasonable price. There is much more in back. They often have a steady flow of customers with social distancing and masking. I have used them for bike lock keys when some of those were not a common item. Recently, I needed a car rack system key from the code and they did it easily, in less than 15 minutes, even with people ahead of me. They get a lot of Yakima and Thule. Their trucks go out for car lock outs, residential and commercial locksmithing, and working on safes. They do a few safes a day! I have no safes but that shows their serious professional lock knowledge you want! The staff was polite and we enjoyed a little lock banter while they worked. With many choices, I'm going to bring even common lock work, like key copies here. Atlasta is a small local business, very knowledgeable, that gets the job done. read more

the most honest, down to earth people you'll meet. They were able to provide duplicate car keys for a fraction of what i was quoted for elsewhere, can't recommend enough! read more

If there was a negative ten star review, I'd leave that. So far, almost everyone I have dealt with at Atlasta is rude, dismissive, and so unbothered to be helpful that it kind of blows my mind. read more

Had a number of unique keys that needed duplication and hadn't had success at multiple other locksmith so I came into Atlanta with little hope, but they did not disappoint! They were able to make all the keys no problem. Super nice and fast service, will definitely return next time we need keys made! read more

Love love love love love these folks! I feel like I'm back in the 50's, but in a GOOD way! They rebuilt an old 1880's cabinet lock for me and had to machine some of it, $25! Then I needed a strike plate... they machined it in a minute for just a few bucks! And, soooooo nice, sooooooo helpful! Highly recommended for antique and vintage furniture locks! read more

I had to have a broken key replaced and he did a good job with what he had to work with.

Adding another review to say that Chuck returned to our home a few days after fixing our front door mortise lock, this time to install a new deadbolt in our back door. Same terrific service as the first visit. My wife and I couldn't be happier. read more

I was quoted $150-$400 from a Honda dealership to create a replacement key for my Honda Odyssey and was told they would need to keep the vehicle for an hour for programming. All I wanted was a spare key that would unlock the door should I lock my keys in the vehicle. I went to Atlasta Lock and they were able to cut a key that would unlock the door, but wouldn't start the car. The cost was $45 because it was double-sided. I assumed that Atlasta Lock wouldn't be able to create a key to start the vehicle. Before I left I was told if I needed a key to start the vehicle to come back and see them. What??!!!! The cost would be $100. I had them make the key and when I went to pay I was given a great discount because I had just had the other key made and didn't know they could make the second key that would start the vehicle. The key doesn't have the "fob" part that will electronically lock/unlock the vehicle, but it has the chip so that I can drive it. I was so concerned that I would lose my only key and be up a creek without a paddle that I worried about it all the time. Thank you Atlasta Lock! My mind is at ease! read more

It's good to have a good key carver in the area. I got what I came in for and had a lot of options to do so. Waiting wasn't long with 4 people in front of me. What I didn't like is having a difficult order, one of the guys was rude because it was both tough and I didn't know exactly how to make the order. Overall I'm satisfied and will come back. read more

Just came in for a simple key duplication. Super fast and friendly service. The back wall is covered with keys, I'm sure they have just about every kind made. They also sell locks, do lock resets, safe sales, and repairs. I'll definitely be coming by the next time I have lock needs, the god ol' mom and pop shop feel that's so rare these days. read more

The locksmith guy really help me out. Bless his soul! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family, they're very polite. And they're honest. They were cleaning when I got there, but I think it was because they just opened. So they're clean! Very knowledgeable on what happened with my ignition. They wanted to help me out so they tried their best. They executed the job, but unfortunately my issue was way deeper than what I needed/asked them to do. Nonetheless, they did their job perfectly. read more

This was the 4th locksmith I went to today and they had the key I've been searching all around town for! Thank you guys! Keys are 7 each but who cares...worth it when you need the specific key and shoots no more gas money running around town. Super fast service as well. I was in and out of that place. Thank you sooooo much Atlasta for being the key dream makers ha! I'll recommend others to you for all key needs! read more

Atlasta Lock & Safe - Thank you sooo much for the keys! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I recently purchased an antique 1880-1890 armoire that was missing the keys. After a lot of checking around, everyone was suggesting I try Atlasta Lock & Safe. I brought the two locks in this morning and was greeted by a friendly technician that actually seemed eager to take on the challenge. I was told that they would led be ready later this week. But I got a call the same day saying they were ready. Not only did he make two new keys for these antique locks, but he actually repaired one on the locks and serviced them both. The price was more than reasonable. read more

Joe at Atlasta Lock is the person to go to for repair of antique mortise locks. I was able to take mine out of my door and bring it to him. It took several days to do but he fashioned a spring that needed to be replaced and even found a another part in the lock that had a crack that would have broken later if he had not caught it first...all at a fair price. He enjoys working on these complicated locks and takes care in doing a great job. Karyn read more

Outstanding work! I had a very hard key blank to find, the blank code stamped on the key didn't show any catalog or search data. In my job I travel for a living and have searched Denver, Salt Lake, Anchorage and Seattle. The answer was always the same, it a Chinese key and they didn't have the blank or they just took one look and said "we don't have it". Atlasta took one look at the blank and said this is going to be a hard key to find yet they did and for a reasonable price. Kudos! read more

Quick and easy service. Keys always work great. Love the people who work here, very nice and knowledgeable. Lots of options to choose from! Only complaint is there could be more color-coded keys. read more

Is it possible to love a locksmith company, because I love this business! So friendly, accommodating and professional.

Stopped in to have a stuck deadbolt worked on and was in and out in 10 min. The man working was really kind, friendly and knowledgeable and sent me on my way with a working lock and key, after explaining to me how the deadbolt was assembled and how to care for it if this happened again. Highly recommend. read more

Absolutely terrible interaction. Keith answered my phone call to inquire about key duplicates. He made sure to let me know right of the bat that he was busy and likely could not help me because he was so busy. I assured him I didn't require an immediate action but would like to get a quote. He was rude and unhelpful the entire time even interrupting me when I tried to ask a question and complained that he didn't have access to a computer which would not allow him to help me. When I tried to tell him I could wait until he had someone else call me back later he would not stop complaining. I eventually thanked him for his time and hung up. He was rude, acted as if I was a hassle, belittled my intelligence with his tone of voice and repetitive statements and did not have a single positive moment in our interaction. I will be taking my business and my companies business elsewhere which is unfortunate as this was a convenient location. Keith I feel empathy for you. You obviously have so much going on in your life that a simple request for a duplicate key flusters you. I hope you find an outlet for your stress other than customers. read more

Had a kind of weird key for my house that I needed to make some copies of. Tried the machines at Fred Myer but none of the copies ever worked. Been wanting to go support a local locksmith, just had been lazy using the key copy machine - thought maybe a locksmith might take a long time. I was pleasantly surprised, they made the copies very quickly and at a reasonable price. Every key copy worked beautifully. Staff was friendly as well. Only small criticism maybe is I did have to wait a little while to be served, but they were busy - as a small business owner as well I wouldn't ever fault someone for being busy these days! Great to see. 5 stars. Won't use the stupid machines anymore. read more

Excellent, speedy service! I've had several keys made here, as well as a door lock re-keyed. They were able to clone my Master Lock key, unlike True Value or Lowes. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Highly recommended! read more

David from Atlasta came by our new place to re-key the locks and take a look at a few other things. Not only did he keep the antique lock looking beautiful, but he explained some of the finer points of using an antique lock, and pointed out a few features that I didn't even know were there! He also took a look at the lock on our deep freeze, and tried his very best to fix it even though it was unfixable. He explained everything and answered my plethora of questions with kindness and knowledge. The price was exactly what I would expect to pay. I will definitely use Atlasta next time I need a locksmith and would recommend them to anyone! read more

I own rental properties and so I buy a lot of locks and keys and such. In what can be a very seedy industry these guy rise to the top. I have been coming here for key making, lock purchases, and the myriad of lock and key issues for 15 years. Always quality, honest, and reasonably priced service. They also must treat their employees pretty good as they have had the same people working here the entire time I have been coming in. read more

This started off as a 4 star review, but after a bit of thought bumped it up to 5. I've had a number of keys made here and purchased a few locks as well. Always friendly a relatively fast. This morning they helped me with a malfunctioning keypad deadbolt. Not only did they fix it, but they put up with my lack of knowledge on how to re-install it. Great team there. read more

After scheduling an appointment to get my locks changed and wasting my time to verify for entry, the technician was extremely unprofessional and rude and got in his van and drove away. I called the company to figure out what was going on and they said no more technicians were available and they didn't understand what happened. I don't recommend ever doing business with this company. I've been a loyal customer for over seven years while managing a number facilities and I think this is unbelievable. read more

Dude at the counter was very rude after he asked me if I needed help and I kindly replied "I'm not in a hurry and happy to browse until you're more free"...he said "I'm busy all day. What do you need?" I told him "I was hoping to get some help with figuring out a security solution." As I began to explain, he stared at me with an irritated look on his face, so I just said "you know what? nevermind" and he said "yeah, it seems like it's going to take some time." I'm not a sensitive person AT ALL, but this dude lacks some basic customer service skill. I'll pass. read more
