What this place lacks in curb appeal, they more than make up in their customer service and productivity. I have an older Subaru and a newer VW, both of which have complicated and expensive keys to reproduce. The team here has saved me a small fortune by helping me out, and keeping me from having to go to the dealership. They're fast, friendly, and incredibly professional. While I was waiting for my Subaru key today, I didn't know the clerk cut the key, then went out to my car to check the fit. When one of the locks seemed a little tight, he oiled it and made sure the key worked before turning it over to me. It was so much more than I was expecting! We inherited an RV. No key found. AA found that they should be able to replace the lock and get us a new key. Upon arriving, Ryan told me that this might not be a model they could make a key for, but he wouldn't know for sure till he got inside. He got to work and once he got in, he found that it WAS a model he could make a key for. In the meantime, my husband had been very anxious to see the inside of the RV, so he climbed in, too, and looked around in the cupboards. Went here today - first time working with the young front desk replacement person that replaced the older very friendly and professional gentleman that just retired - I was talking to the front desk clerk, Jerimiah (an owner) walked out from the back room and interrupted out conversation saying he was too busy right now, I began to talk again and Jerimiah interrupted me and told me not to interrupt him, I then said to Jerimiah that he in fact was interrupting us, then Jerimiah got more upset and told me to leave. Before I walked out I told him that I have been coming there for key services for about 8 years and I had never ever been talked to like he just did to me. This company was contracted by AAA to unlock my teenage son's car in 90-degree heat. There was an issue with the card. My son had the AAA card and his ID with him. "Ryan" who was the lock smith made no attempt to call AAA to verify and when AAA tried to call him or their main office to address the issue and get it fixed there was no answer. "Ryan" then left my son in 90 weather stating that " they did not want to do any work for free". According to the company website his company is "Now Hiring", and I can see why with employees like "Ryan" representing their company. They gave me an OEM key token, with the same buttons and the same high quality materials. The service was fast. Bought a truck and needed to Make copies of the key that had a transponder in it so I couldn't just go to Fred Meyer. Called several places to get quotes. Some places were terrible just to get a quote. Dealership wanted $130 for 2 keys. This place quoted me $65 for one and $100 for 2, and they were super nice knowledgeable and quick! When it was ready I asked if they give AAA discounts cuz I noticed all the plaques in the office from AAA. He said AAA doesn't but we do if you have it. So the two keys programmed came out to a total of $90, and no fuss, super nice customer service, knew what they were doing! All the other places I called were $150 or more, besides the one dealership was $130. I don't usually post recommendations but I 100% recommended this place! read more

A strange operation. I telephoned and told them that I needed a key made for my Honda CRV. An older man who'd answered the phone checked his stock and told me ne he could make one. I told him when I'd be down. I arrived and a young guy ignored my plain statement of what I needed. He talked over me, around me, and then back over me. My need and my statement were straightforward. Finally, I asked if he understood what I had said. He went off again. I asked again. I had not raised my voice nor swore. I was simply amazed that he hadn't any interest in my declared need. He then stated that he would not serve someone with my attitude. I'd come a fair distance and so immediately apologized for whatever wrongs I had done him. He relented. I turned to the older fellow who had assured me on the phone that he could provide my with a key. I asked for him to make that key. He fumbled around for a bit and then told me he did not have what I needed. He asked if I could come back in two days. I left pretty much wordlessly. The company was routed to us from AAA for a lock out. The two of them did the job alright, however Ryan's bed side manner was that of rat gnawing on your toe bone with a sharp rock in your shoe. Crazy awesome!!! Called them up for a back-up fob/key...quoted for $185. I had to ask again because I thought this was only for the fob/key and not the programming. Nope. TOTAL COST=$185. Went in, got it done in less than 15 min. Batteries plus (which should be really a minus) charged me $199.98 total, took an hour and could not program the car with the fob (got my refund). After having my backpack stolen with my car keys in it, I called a couple of the first google hits for a locksmith. I ended up with a shady individual at the Portland airport after midnight who wanted to charge me after 3 hours of failing to make working keys(I said no and they left and I had to uber home at 2:30am). On top of that they wanted to charge almost double the cost of what AA locksmith charged. After sleeping off the horrible experience I was directed to AA locksmith and they could not have been more professional and a life saver. When I started explaining my situation to Ryan and how so many phone numbers seem to lead back to those individuals, he assured me that he'd set me up for a flat rate(unlike the scammers who won't tell you until they get there). Ryan met me at the airport with a smile and a reassuring attitude which is what I needed after a long stressful night. Within 20 minutes or so he had my car started with two new keys programmed. This was such a relief. I want to thank Ryan and the folks at AA locksmith for his professionalism, attitude and confidence in getting me back up and running. These guys bailed us out big time! We rented a car from Alamo at the airport and locked the keys in the trunk of a 2021 Camry (meaning we couldn't access the trunk from the main cabin). Long story short... this company stepped up had our back when the rental company (rudely) told us there was nothing they could do and we'd have to tow the car and replace it (even though ALL of our luggage was in the trunk, so we had to get in there either way). The key fob I bought here for my Kia Soul died after a year. I brought it to AA - they said that sometimes the battery dies like this - they replaced it, checked it out and it works fine! Didn't even charge me! I researched - they were the best price around by far! Fast, friendly, obliging service. They even re-programmed my old partially broken fob to work with the new one! They are a AAA vendor. I had to use them to cut a key for a lost key for my vehicle. The day I had scheduled service they called and said their employee was sick and they would need to postpone one day, which of course is understandable and these days preferable. One day wasn't long to wait as my car was in my driveway. The next day their worker comes and we get to the point where he asks for the title. I replied "one moment please I need to go look for it" their employee looked at his watch and said "I'll give you 10 minutes" very rudely. I said "no, you'll give me as long as it takes, I waited a day for you, you can wait while I go get the paperwork". Then the worker replies "you were told to have the paperwork ready" and calls his boss to make sure I was told to have the paperwork. Mind you, I NEVER said I wasn't told to have it, providing it wasn't an issue. We own our vehicles 100%, clean titles in our names. It's not an issue, but I think that was the assumption their employee made because that's where he took it. Anyway, it took me less than 2 minutes to get the title, as we expected them the day before and had to re arrange the day I was just hoping for the same level of respect, kindness, professionalism I showed them. I would rather have a refund to be honest, I didn't get the extra key I needed made because I just wanted this horrible little person off my property. Oh, and hearing him tell his trainee about how I'd need to call them again because I only got one key was pretty funny too...he does know there are other locksmiths in town, right? Or the dealership? So yeah the issue wasn't the paperwork buddy, it was YOUR poor customer service. read more

These guys are awesome. 10 out 5 if I could. Here's why... Needed 2nd car key programmed to just start the vehicle. I had it cut and lock & unlock programmed already on my own. Would cost me $120+ everywhere else regardless. Trust me, I called them all. Locksmith Monkey, Pop-A-Lock, D&L, and other local spots. These guys did it for $45. Solid shop. I asked why they didn't charge me more. There response? "Why? Oh already did 2/3 of the work. $45 to you." I was blown away. I showed up 20 minutes later. Guy comes out with computer. Bloopitty blop, computer does its thing. Guy answers all of my questions during the programming. Out of the shop in 10 minutes after arriving. Give them your business. I'm glad I did. These guys were great! I was getting ready to leave on vacation when my key wouldn't work in my ignition. I had a spare but wanted to make sure I replaced the one that wasn't working. The dealership was going to charge me a lot to reprogram the key and told me it would take hours. The dealership also told me they were the only ones who could reprogram my key. I called AA instead as they are close to my house. After receiving great customer service on the phone, I went to see them and in about 15 minutes and $35 they had a new key made and programmed, They were professional, helpful and knowlegable. Hands down these guys are the place to go when you need to have car keys made! Ironically, I lost my car keys while biking to work one faithful morning. Discovering an empty carabiner while sitting on the MAX, I started panicking and sighing heavily. Calling the dealership was useful in that if-I-was-rich-like-Bill-Gates-this-would-be-no-problem kind of way, they were asking a lot to get a new transponder key cut and programmed. A few others were as helpful as the shady liver organ dealer in the dark alley saying they can do anything, no problem. But after a few minutes of Internet searching with cross-referencing on Yelp, I found AA Express Locksmith. They got me going with an OEM transponder key and even cut/programmed another key I bought off the Internet for below what the dealership was going to charge me. My only gripe is they're pretty far east by 205. And getting there from Beaverton during the afternoon commute was not fun. I inadvertently left my car key inside the car this morning and without a backup or replacement, I was just about "freaking out." Several years back, I was in a similar situation down in Santa Rosa, California, and I was lucky that someone close to me had a backup key and was able to drive to me after we discovered that local locksmiths could not get into the car via their airbag method. Calling a local here in Portland, we learned that they'd use the same method. We just kept out fingers crossed. We were told it would be $100 prior to 7 AM and a bit less than that if we waiting until after that time. Well, when we considered that we could use our AAA benefits to have AA Express come out, we opted for that and kept those fingers crossed... I biked to my locked car, which was about a mile away. Arriving there, the AA Express van was already waiting and the individual helping us out seemed happy to meet with me, confident and prepared. After quickly confirming some details with him, he took out his supplies and got to work on the passenger side. I can't say enough about this guy, who seemed courteous and self-assured. After a good ten or so minutes, I look over and the passenger door seems to just pop open! The alarm sounded and I rushed into the cabin to grab the key and de-activate said alarm by turning the ignition a three-quarter turn. He did it! I recently did an online purchase for a replacement remote key less FOB for my '99 Pontiac Grand AM. Turns out, my make and model required a professional re-pro from a locksmith or dealer. I did some research and found this place clear across town from where I live. When I got there, these guys are straight-up legit and they know their stuff. At first, the rep thought the FOB was only a shell case but after opening it up found that it was a possible bad battery inside....and it was. I don't think I was there for more than 20 mins by the time all said and done. I spent $45 for the re-pro and $4 for the new battery and worth every penny of it, not to mention, the customer service is unmatched! I can't speak on anything else other than this current dealing but I can say this.....anyone else I would have dealt with in town, I would have spent nothing less than $85 and (can't honestly say) have the same customer service. These guys are great. Highly recommended. Locksmiths and key and remotes for your car. Some background: I bought a 2000 Cadillac a few months ago and it only came with one key and one remote. I knew the key and remote would be expensive since it had a chip in it and it needed to be programed. Every dealership I talked to were kind of rude, as if my business was not really needed, or more like they knew I needed them, so why bother being helpful. Even worse though, was how little they knew about my car. No one I spoke to seemed to know for sure how to program my remote, none had the key in stock, etc. I called AA and could tell they knew what they were talking about. Once I confirmed that they had the key and remote and that they would be there (sometimes everyone is out on a call) I drove over and they had the key and remote ready for me in 20 minutes. They had a nice waiting area for me to wait in and they were just as nice as can be. This is the way these things are supposed to work. People who are helpful, welcoming and competent. Avoid the dealership and call them when you need car keys or are locked out of your car. Support these kind of specialized shops. read more
