These guys REALLY know what they're doing! I came to Dr. Tisseront based off a recommendation from a friend who is also a patient. I just turned 27 so traditional braces were absolutely not (purely for vanity reasons) an option for me. The consultation was extremely thorough, his staff extremely helpful and friendly. I wanted to get a second opinion on their recommended patient plan so I had them speak to a family friend who was also my hometown dentist. Dr. Tisseront was more than happy to take the time to call my friend after office hours and spend more than an hour explaining his recommendation. I have been wearing harmony braces (hidden behind your teeth) for three months now and everyone is amazed at how quickly my teeth have moved. I already have a beautiful smile! When all is said and done I will have spent upwards of 10K (they have a very reasonable payment plan) but I don't think I would trust anyone else with my teeth at this point and feel like this was a truly an investment well made. read more

If only I had known the options available from Dr. Tisseront, I would have done this years ago! Even my regular dentist is amazed at the the quick progress and outcome. I am a senior who has managed to get by with quite crooked teeth despite having worn braces in my teens. I always wanted straight teeth, but wasn't willing to wear braces for years as an adult. Somehow, I heard about Dr. Tisseront and went for an eval.. I learned that I could have "lingual" braces on the top (which don't show) and would only have to wear the braces for 12-18 months. So i signed up. And here I am, 16 months later, with straight teeth! It seems that Dr T. is able to do some things that many other orthodontists are. not. In addition, the office atmosphere is very upbeat and his assistants seem happy to be working there. A very positive experience all around. Highly recommend! read more

I took my daughter there and fortunately she had a wonderful sister and brother-in-law who could help pay for the treatment. However, when she lost a retainer I was struggling with my job and could not bring her in for over five months. When I finally have the money saved up, the staff was friendly although the doctor barely would look at me and seemed angry that I waited that long. I explained to him that I did not have the money to pay for a retainer. My daughter came home and Was in tears.Now her teeth have started to move again. It would've been much better had he approached it from our view which is someone who is coming from a single parent family and mom made the best effort To start getting her teeth realigned. Best investment i made in my life. I'm writing this specifically for young professionals who did not get any treatment to align their teeth when they were younger and now are on the edge of whether to do it or not. Trust me, i know what you are thinking about right now; at our age there are a lot of job interviews, meetings at work and school, other events to attend, dates to go on. I was concerned that I might jeopardize best years of my life when I am supposed to figure out life, instead I go back and do something that I should have done much sooner. Don't even doubt about going for it a bit. Dr. Tisseront and his staff understand these concerns. In 2 years and some I had my lingual braces on (braces on the back of your teeth), I had no problem getting involved in any of the activities I mentioned above. Pros: Conveniently located, appointments for my son's braces require less than 20 minutes. Cons: Dr. Tisseront and his staff seem to think it is OK to continually ask MY SON when he is going to get a frenectomy. He told me he feels harassed. I already told them I will wait until after the braces come off and retainer worn to consider whether that procedure is 100% needed. Neutral: Somewhat difficult to get appointments outside school hours. Total cost - $6000. read more

My son had his braces put on by Dr.Tisseront. The office and staff are lovely. Although, the assistants do most of the work and are just overseen by the Dr. The billing was a bit shady. My son was only seen in this office for 3 months (we moved), yet they maxed out our ortho benefit of 1500 and I had to pay over a hundred at each visit after paying 1200 for the initial placement?!? So, this review will be a brief comparison of the braces that they offer because I've had braces FOUR times, lol. I clearly was not great at wearing a retainer, but I love straight teeth... (1993) I started with the regular metal braces with a good orthodontist in NY... I was very happy with the results, not so much the look of it, but I was in high school, so it was common at that age. I didn't wear my retainer... (2008) Then I got the clear (ceramic) braces (a different, not great orthodontist in VA) ... I was not pleased with the results or the look of the braces because though they were "clear" you could definitely see them. I felt that the orthodontist removed my braces too early and never closed the spaces... (2013) Then I was referred to Dr. Tisseront from a co-worker. With him, I opted for the braces that go on the back of your teeth (lingual braces). Though they were on the back of my teeth, you could still see them if you were talking or laughing. However, I did like these, pricey, but did the job. I didn't wear my retainer... (2019) Finally, I did Invisalign with Dr. Tisseront and I'm very happy with the results and I was happy with the look of the Invisalign. They are pretty clear, so I didn't mind wearing them all the time (unlike the previous retainers that I'd always want to remove if I was going to anything important). I liked seeing the gradual improvements as well, oppose to not really knowing what you're teeth will look like until the braces are removed. Also, the retainer that I received is also super clear, very happy about this. I don't know what this particular retainer is made out of or called (I'll update post when I find out), but it's amazing! I'm finally done with braces and happy with my results! :-) read more

The previous review pretty much says it all and all I can add is that my experience has been as good or better than hers. We too met with another provider before selecting Dr. Tisseront for the same reasons she mentions. We went on to have two children come out with dazzling smiles. I was so impressed with my kids' results, that I too decided to have my teeth straightened. I wish I had done it 20 or 30 years ago but I am glad I waited so that it could be done by Dr. Tisseront and his GREAT TEAM using the age-appropriate (for me) Incognito lingual braces that are one of his specialties. To say Dr. Tisseront and his team have changed my life would be an understatement. I've had a long on again off again journey due to losing my retainers, and this time around decided to try lingual (behind-the-teeth) braces. Dr. Tisseront's Orthodontics office and team are the "BEST". The team is nice and they are very encouraging. They explain everything to you. The iPads in the lobby are great because we always arrive early so it gives me something to do. After your visit is over you can choose between a Popsicle, ice cream or cookies! They never make me feel bad for eating any of that stuff as long as I eat it in moderation and take care of my teeth:) read more

This dentist is a very good dentist. For checkups they do it really really quick and if you have braces during a checkup you can change your brace colors every time you come back! I also saw a ice cream machine there! In my opinion I think it's one of the best dentist place. read more

Let me first off say that I'm an RN and one of the more discerning and cautious people I know concerning medical/dental care. I research everything (and everyone) extensively and consult heavily with several practitioners until I feel I have found THE BEST professional I can find in the field that I happen to need treatment. Dr. Tisseront is the Orthodontist in Northern VA that made my cut. From the moment we walked in the office the staff greeted us with warm welcoming smiles. They have always been kind, courteous, and experts at dealing with scheduling snafus with the greatest of ease. Dr. T's office has beverages and ice cream on hand to help make everything about the visit a comfortable one! They have taken a genuine interest in all members of our family (not just the kids in treatment) from my youngest 2yr old to plain 'ole boring me... Mom. It was evident at our first consult that Dr. Tisseront himself was highly skilled. His plan of care for my child receiving treatment was detailed, concise & complete. We received pictures, a cost analysis, and a plan of action. There was no, "maybe we can do this, maybe we'll try that" which I experienced on a few other consultations. This practitioner was solid, precise and meticulous about what needed to be accomplished in order to receive flawless results. I would highly recommend Dr. Tisseront for your orthodontic needs. I was so pleased with him that our second child received treatment with his team; and believe it or not, I even choose to do some minor tweaking of my own teeth since he was so accommodating. He fixed a minor cosmetic problem in 2 1/2 months (which had grated on my nerves for the last 20 years). You will find that he is not the cheapest orthodontist out there. His estimates are pretty middle of the pack but I genuinely believe that this investment is not one where you should be looking for a loss leader. We love Dr. Tisseront and his staff. I was one of his first patients and when it was time for my daughter to see an orthodontist I knew Dr. Tisseront was the one for her. On the occasional need to reschedule an appointment or the need for an emergency appointment the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The office is tastefully decorated and extremely clean. I met with Dr. Tisseront for an adult braces consultation for myself. I knew that there were issues with my jaw alignment and was interested in getting more information on the best course of treatment. After taking extensive x-rays and reviewing my teeth, a suggested course of action was discussed. I was told that I would need to have surgery to correct my jaw issues and, after asking what I thought were basic questions, I was told that I would need to consult with the surgeon to get those answers - that Dr. Tisseront could only explain the process for the braces. I left the consultation feeling overwhelmed, noting the extreme process that I would need to undergo to correct my jaw issues. While the consultation was informative and it was apparent that Dr. Tisseront was very knowledgeable about braces, I felt as though I was not being provided with all of the information needed to make an informed decision and I was dissatisfied with the lack of options outside of surgery. The office itself is very clean and bright. The office staff were welcoming but I didn't enjoy communicating with the woman, Jessica, who did the initial pictures before meeting with Dr. Tisseront. While she was pleasant enough, she wasn't very kind or receptive to my concerns about having surgery. Also, the prices that were being presented to me were in the middle to upper middle range of other practices in the area, as I went on to consult with several other orthodontists in the area after meeting with Dr. Tisseront. Ultimately, I decided to work with another less invasive orthodontist and, while my jaw won't be completely corrected, I won't be undergoing surgery but will have a better jaw alignment when my course of treatment is finished, which was my hope from the beginning. read more

I just had to write another sparkling review. Dr. Tisseront and his staff exemplify excellent customer service. They greet patients by name and with a smile. Today they even wore Halloween costumes! It is a fun office to visit! I am so very impressed by their timeliness. They are the most on time office I have ever visited. Today's appointment was at 9:30 AM. I was called back at 9:28 and was on my way to my car at 9:58. For me, it doesn't get any better than that. I highly recommend this practice. They make you feel welcome and at ease. I am an adult who had braces as a child and didnt were my braces. I needed help with my bite. I am one who like to ask questions and needs to know what my doctor is doing. He did not like me asking what he was doing. How can he be a doctor and get angry when someone is paying out of pocket ( my insurance didnt cover it). He ( and his staff) were often rude and made me cry. He didnt like to be questioned about why he was doing what he was doing. If I was at a physicians office, they would be expected to explain exactly what they were doing each and every time you went for an appointment. Why don't orthodontists use the same principal? Is it because they usually work with children who don't question what they are doing? He may be good with kids, but if you are an adult, avoid Dr Tisseront. read more

I chose to make an appointment based on my interaction with the office via telephone - they were professional, friendly and quoted me a price. Other offices would only give me a quote after going in and paying for an evaluation. My experience at his office was flawless - he and his staff are beyond friendly and take great care in their work. I felt 110% sure I made the right choice while being measured for my new retainers. Horrific experience - for an initial consultation, with the intent of taking a photo of teeth, an assistant pulled my child's cheek so hard that tears were running down her face - literally ripping her face off. I firmly told the woman to stop, that she was hurting my child, she continued to pull, saying that it shouldn't hurt. Everyone outside the office could hear my daughter shouting and crying. I am a older mom whose teeth started to shift about 5 years ago. I wanted braces but, I kept putting it off, it was too expensive, too much work, I would look silly, etc. Finally, 6 months ago I took the plunge and got my braces, a birthday present. In only 6 months, my teeth have Never looked better. They are already straight. I look into the mirror and I see a new me. I love the new look. I feel younger because I look so much better with straight teeth. I don't feel like that old lady with crooked teeth anymore. This was better for me than any botox or surgical procedure in making me feel young again. My 12 yr. old daughter also has braces and has been a patient of Dr. Tisseront for over a year.
