Dr. Kravitz is an exceptionally talented and amazing orthodontist. We were initially referred to Dr. Kravitz by our former pediatric dentist when our oldest child needed braces. I researched his practice and background and was immediately impressed with his Ivy League education (both undergrad and medical) and other outstanding credentials. Our first visit to his office was impressive. The staff was welcoming and polite and the office was clean and hospitable (this still holds true today) complete with Starbucks coffee and a Georgetown Cupcake for our son (after first confirming no food allergies). Dr. Kravitz examined our son and confirmed he needed braces. He explained the treatment plan and our financing options. We believed the price for the entire treatment plan was very reasonable and we began treatment immediately. The staff was always helpful with appointment scheduling and quick to secure a spot for an emergency appointment (broken brackets arising from eating a forbidden food ;). The staff also was helpful with coordinating any necessary treatments with his dentist. Best of all, my son (oldest) now has a beautiful smile and teeth that are correctly aligned. (I will post before and after pics soon). Shortly after our eldest treatment was underway, I arranged for consults with Dr. Kravtiz for our next two children. Dr. Kravitz examined them (and gave them Georgetown cupcakes)(with my permission) and confirmed one needed a palate expander and both needed braces. Again, we were quoted a very fair price for both children, paid in full (this option was not required but we opted for this), and immediately began treatment. Dr. Kravitz does accept insurance, however, our medical plan did not offer any benefits for braces or palate expanders. Dr. Kravitz offered us a great price despite our lack of good orthodontic insurance and we began treatment. We have a special needs family and were previously told by a few of our children's pediatric dentists to work with a special needs dentist. We weren't sure how braces were going to work out given our situation, however, we knew our children needed palate expanders and braces and my husband and I wanted the most qualified orthodontist we could find to treat our children. We explained all of this to Dr. Kravitz and he assured us their special needs would not be an issue and it would all work out. We scheduled the first treatment in a private room and Dr. Kravitz went at a pace that was comfortable for our child. He explained to our child exactly what he was going to do and walked our child through the entire process. I have to admit, my child was not typical, and most other orthodontists probably would have quit, but true to his word, he did exactly what he said he would do (baby steps) and got it done in a kind, very skilled and compassionate way. My child knew he/she could trust him and this continued throughout the entire process. This was repeated for my second special needs child as well -- with great results. Fortunately for our family the environment in his practice allowed both of my children to eventually receive care completely independent of me (while I waited in the reception area) and without the special private room, and, best of all, without any fear. We now have two children whose braces are off and their teeth look fantastic and one more child that is nearing completion with great results thus far. We are happy we chose Dr. Kravitz and his team and highly recommend Dr. Kravitz and his staff. They have weekend (including sometimes Sunday) morning and evening appointments. This should go without saying, because it's been said so many times before, but we have a gem in our community named Dr. Kravitz. Once again, going way up above and beyond to help someone who's not even his patient, but the parent of one of his patients. No, it wasn't me. Due to 24 years of sports that involved a weapon or a coach saying "the bone's not sticking out, get back in there East" and 8 years of grad school where the closest thing I had to a dentist was the occasional 250 bucks I get for letting the dental students at Maryland practice on me, my teeth are more machine than many anymore, and look like a tonka toy set put together with crazy glue by a team of meth addicts who had just cooked up a batch and were waiting for it to cool on the windowsill like one of Grandma's pies. No, this was my wife, my classically trained opera singer wife, who has sung at the fanciest of singing galleries such as wolftrap and the kennedy center and mason's sell-out-o-rama Eagle Bank Arena. For her, a minor shift in her teeth, could completely change her trilling or vocalization or some musical term. But the bottom line is that she was flossing her teeth (something I avoid because my teeth may rust or break) one of the front ones actually moved. It shifted like Vin Diesel in a hot rod being pursued by the Rock in one of those fast and fuming movies(I'm assuming that's how those movies go, I only get to watch princess movies and girl power cartoons. And Vin Diesel doesn't drive an automatic, he just yells at the transmission to shift, and it does). So, this was catastrophic. This could change her voice. This had major potential for me getting yelled at for something I had nothing to do with. But, Dr Kravitz managed to save the day. I sent him a PM at 10 PM, he replied somewhere after midnight, saying "come in at 720 am" and made sure that it was back in place and there wasn't a significant problem. Literally, this guy is our own version of a country doctor. He doesn't need to answer his email in the middle of the night, he doesn't need to see the parent of a patient, he can show up, do his job, and go home. But he does more than just sponsor every event in the community, he genuinely cares about people. And not just the people who are his patients, but the whole place. People here call him a saint and a blessing, which he is, but for those few of us who grew up in rural communities, he's the doc who drops his fishing rod on his one day off to run to a house to look at a kid who cut his thumb with a rusty pocket-knife, without a second thought that the largest catfish in the pond was seconds away from his bait. How do I even begin with how much I love this practice? Well, for starters - if you have ever had a conversation with me, you probably already know, because I'm not sure a day goes by without telling someone how incredible Dr. Kravitz is! What makes me such a big cheerleader for this practice, you ask? For starters, he was the first of three consultation appointments that I made for my son. Let's just say that despite his ENCOURAGING me to get a second opinion, I cancelled both of the others. Dr. Kravitz's obvious expertise, engaging personality and the way he makes you feel that he genuinely cares about your family was enough for us. The fact that the cost out of pocket was SIGNIFICANTLY less than what I had heard from other practices was just the cherry on top! (It should be noted that they dealt with insurance - and I never once had to fuss with that either!) The one thing that I can honestly say I have NEVER experienced with any other medical practice is the level of responsiveness that Dr Kravitz and his staff have. The very first time you meet him, he will tell you to ping him on Facebook if you need anything at all. I laughed - I wouldn't dream of it.... (Until your son breaks his bracket on Saturday night and you don't know what to do...) Yup, I was THAT MOM. And you know what? HE REPLIED. YES, HIM. Not his staff (trust me, I questioned it at first too!) All was well - he agreed to meet us first thing Monday morning before office hours so that we could get it all fixed up. (BTW - it has happened more than once, and the same response each time!) I'm honestly not sure how he balances everything, but he does it in stride. Now that the braces came off (yesterday), we are just embarking on the retainer world. My 10 year old is responsible... but well, he's 10. You know what that means!! More than likely we will encounter a lost retainer. I've been told over and over not to worry! He will replace it FOR FREE!! Pick your jaw up off of the ground... I'm telling the truth. Finally, I want to mention possibly one of the BEST things about Dr Kravitz and his office. They are hands down the most generous company in the area. Our local schools have been so blessed by his sponsorship and donations. He never turns down an opportunity to help where it is needed. He is setting an excellent example for our kids on how to be successful yet humble, and the importance of sharing the fruits of your efforts with others. Dr Kravitz is a pillar/cornerstone of our community and it is evident in his service, care, and presence. My son successfully completed phase I and phase II under Dr K's care. My daughter also completed phase I correction successfully with expander and braces. Once she has more adult teeth come in, we will have her evaluated for phase II if needed. Yes, Dr K will put my daughter through phase II ONLY if needed!!! I assumed it was always "needed". I mean, how else can a business thrive? But several of my friends have bragged that their kids were done after phase I treatment - no need for phase II! Amazing! Getting it done right the first time! But if you need more work that's ok too. Dr K is always apologizing that he is a perfectionist but that is music to my ears for this type of investment. Recently my son's teeth shifted a few months after completing phase II due to a particular condition. Dr K put braces on again for a few months (at no cost to me!!!) to correct the bite as he was not satisfied with the final outcome. He monitored my son over a few more months and educated his staff on the specific condition and remedy for future patients. My sister from CA was shocked that Dr K is fixing my son's teeth again without charge! She had to sign a waiver for her daughter's treament that if her daughter's teeth moved over time afterwards, the orthodontist office was not liable to redo any previous work... typically what one expects... Dr K also provides retainers free of charge to anyone who asks, even non-patients(!)... there is no gimmick or upsell. Another one of my out of state family members can attest to this program... who does that?! Dr K amazes me in all he does from educating his peers on his successful/challenging cases to learning/incorporating new knowledge/methods to better serve his patients. He is always available for dental emergencies and consultation. Stories of him rushing to care for a patient or non-patient emergency outside of business hours are legendary and have relieved a few worried parents. Check out his fb posts! His team of doctors and staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Being particular himself, he surrounds himself with the best people to work and represent his business. My family has personally known him since 2010 when he first sponsored my son's baseball team with a donation and pizza party. My son Eric and I began orthodontic treatment with Dr. Kravitz and what an amazing experience! My son had the standard braces and his smile is gorgeous. Being an older patient, Dr. Kravitz recommended lingual braces for myself and for the 14 month period for which I wore the braces, most people had no idea that I had them! The results however are more than I could have ever had hoped for! I am so proud of my smile and I owe it all to Dr. Kravitz and my son feels the same way. I get compliments all of the time on my smile! As an older patient, I was a little self conscious about the open bay seating, and Dr. Kravitz and his staff accommodated me with more privacy and I greatly appreciated that. Our high school opened in the Fall of 2012 and Dr. Kravitz and his staff have been with us all the way as we have navigated our way even before we opened. In the era of budget cutbacks, schools have had to rely on business support more than ever, and Dr. Kravitz has given back not only to our high school most generously, but to other schools, sports teams and extracurricular clubs and activities throughout the Dulles South area. But the giving isn't just monetarily because Dr. Kravitz attends our football games, swim meets and even drama productions. If there were a 10-star rating, Dr. Kravitz would deserve it! I moved to the area in June of 2023. Dr. Kravitz and his team provided me with an incredible experience. Starting with their communication- I called to schedule an appointment to have my permanent retainer replaced. The receptionist was kind and pleasant. She understood the urgency of this matter, and I was offered a same-day appointment; I was also offered an appointment early the next morning if the same-day appointment didn't work. The instructions on how I would receive the electronic paperwork and what needed to be filled out were clear and concise. The beautiful Orthodontist office- Once I arrived, I was acknowledged and received a warm welcome from the staff immediately and checked in for treatment. The office is absolutely beautiful and comforting. In less than 3 minutes, I was called to the back by one of the assistants, who also greeted me with a welcoming spirit. She explained the treatment process, asked me if I had any additional questions or concerns, and we got started. I encountered two assistants during this time, and everyone was so professional and kind. A few ladies even came over to give me comments on my purse and shoes! His enthusiasm for his craft is very evident; you can tell he loves what he does and aspires to continually grow and develop as an orthodontist. Additionally, Dr. Kravitz is very active in the community and generously gives his time, money, and resources to all the schools, community projects, and many sports teams. He's not just a business owner, he's a member of the community. From the moment you enter the office you are treated as family. The staff at Kravitz Orthodontics is incredible. They are friendly, kind, and work very hard to help in any way necessary. A few examples of my family's experience with Dr. Kravitz: 1. When my daughter had her expander put in, she was nervous and started to cry. Dr. Kravitz put her in a quiet room and took his time explaining what he was doing and that he would take as much time as she needed. Later in the evening, he called the house to check on her and to let her know what a good job she did that day. 2. My husband wears lingual braces and has broken a few brackets. On a Sunday evening my daughter was elbowed in the mouth while playing volleyball and it appeared as if one tooth was lower than the other. I have no words to describe how thankful I am for everything Dr. Kravitz and his staff have done for my smile and my husband's =D . I am very concern about keeping a healthy and beautiful smile. I wanted my husband to take better care of his smile, so last year I did some research to find a good orthodontist and Dr. Kravitz seemed to be the best option. Turns out he was not just a good orthodontist but an amazing professional. Dr. Kravitz and all his staff are very kind, fast, helpful and efficient. My husband has had braces while in his teens but he did not use the retainer properly so now on his 40th (yes! 40 years old, never too late to start to take care of your smile!) he did his entire invisalign treatment with Dr. Kravitz and it was a total success! Also he had one tooth that was very yellow and Dr. Kravitz found him the right whitening treatment, so his smile looks great! As for me, last year I was finishing my degree in my home country and also decided to start my invisalign treatment there. Turns out that in the middle of the treatment I had to move back to the USA and now needed some supervision on my invisalign treatment and few other things. I was a little afraid to mess up my invisalign treatment because it is hard to switch orthodontist in the middle of the treatment, but as soon as I asked help to Dr. Kravitz, he was ready to help and gave me all the support I needed. I highly recommend Dr. Kravitz to take of your smile and the smile of your entire family and again all this staff deserve a five star for their dedication, kindness and efficiency. I first heard rave reviews about Dr Kravitz from my sister-in-law, and a neighbor. We continued to send our older child to treatment at a closer orthodontist, but we decided to change for our younger child. Not only was Dr. Kravitz more affordable- and flexible- he truly made us feel like part of the family. He is a humble but incredibly efficient and kind provider. He spends the right amount of time with his patients, and carefully checks assistants' work. He even doesn't mind if you contact him through his personal Facebook page if you're having any issues (such as a popped wire from a 13 year-old eating a rogue Dorito on a Sunday afternoon). I've never seen a doctor with as much energy, and gleaming with joy to be doing what he's doing. He is truly passionate about giving his patients a beautiful and healthy smile. Even with 2 little ones of his own, he works tirelessly - which may be why he wears running shoes. Offices are clean, modern, and well decorated. The aforementioned older child had a problem with puffy gums, and when Dr. Kravitz performed a laser gingivectomy on him (and did a superior job compared to his prior orthodontist), Dr. Kravitz was incredibly patient and made him feel very comfortable despite the rather large needles that had to be used for local anesthesia. All in all I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Kravitz. In 40+ years of going to doctors, dentists, and orthodontists, I have not seen a medical provider quite like him. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kravitz to everyone I know, and then some. There is a reason he is a frequent speaker at orthodontist meetings and contributing writer to dental journals. My Kids DDS in Buffalo NY, told us my kid would need braces. He also said, i know you live in VA, and I have a buddy i went to school with that has a practice down there. Not sure where or how far it is from you though. Well, we will look it up i say. Chantilly area...oh...that's only 45 mins away. So i called for an appt. Let me tell you, best call i ever made when it comes to my kids teeth. Because of the team at Kravitz, and Dr. Kravitz himself, This kid...was/is so brave. He has handled his expander, and his braces like a champ. I can count on 1 hand how many times he has complained in the past 7 months. When we went in for the 1st visit, Dr. Kravitz told me "find my on social media, and friend me. If you ever have a problem, you message me, don't bother calling the office 1st. We are about ethics here not money." Umm ok?! I said. When i got nervous about starting this journey, i messaged him and he said i got you guys! Don't worry! Tuesday, my son popped a wire on his braces. I messaged Dr. Kravitz, and he said "come in when you can, I'll stay as late as I need to for you." Well...I wasn't having that, so we got there during office hours, and Grady got the news he was waiting for. "Today is the day! Braces are coming off!" He was so happy! So I had to take a before and after pic. And when your orthodontist tells you to "throw up the peace sign"....you do! In the words of Grady, "mom, Dr. Neal Kravitz is hysterical! I really like him!" Living in South Riding, Dr. Kravitz's reputation for quality orthodontic work and as a genuinely nice guy proceeds him, but I had no idea just what a saint this man (myth? dare I say, LEGEND!?!) truly is. I reached out yesterday morning with an endodontic emergency (I needed a double root canal on two of my molars) and not knowing where else to turn at 8:00 AM on a Saturday, sent him a Facebook message after seeing his response to another community member to see if he had any way of helping me out. While I ended up getting in to an endodontist later that day, he responded to my message saying that he'd be happy to help in any way and the let him know if I needed anything further. Fast forward to this morning (Sunday) and the temporary filling on the root canal teeth had a sharp edge that was badly irritating my tongue. I sent him another message and he immediately responded that he'd be in his Ashburn office from 10-2 today and to stop by anytime. When I got in, I was warmly greeted by Dr. Kravitz wearing comfy track pants and a sweatshirt that said "Fueled by coffee and kindness". He ground down the sharp edge, polished it smooth and kept making sure that it was just right before sending me on my way with a smile! Dr. Kravitz's kindness has not only brought me relief, but has really inspired me to spread the kindness. I first started seeing Dr. Kravitz years ago, I had an extremely difficult case and decided to go with incognito braces. Throughout the course of my treatment, Dr. Kravitz and his team has been exceptional. Front desk is always professional, attentive, courteous and very organized! Assistants/staff are very friendly, knowledgable and capable. Dr. Kravitz himself is amazing! He's very skillful, quick and proficient, so you're not sitting there with long stretches of time with your mouth open and my teeth look so great! I couldn't have imagined my teeth looking so good. But most of all, what separates Dr. Kravitz from the rest is that he cares! He's provided so many additional services and etc. for free, just because he wanted me to have a better smile! For example, currently, I'm seeing him for invisalign since my upper teeth shifted slightly with time and I needed to get some dental implants placed. Amazingly, Dr Kravitz is providing this service (and appliances) all free of charge, including trays for my bottom teeth to get them even more perfect! Throughout the years, he has always fit me into the schedule should I accidentally snap a wire or etc. He works tirelessly, even on the weekends! Honestly, I don't know how he does it! If their were more than 5 stars, I would select every star possible. Dr. Kravitz for one is an exceptional, caring and very generous Orthodontist. My daughter got her braces on yesterday 11/05/15 and the very moment we walked into his very beautiful Ashburn office, we felt pleasant joy and kindness from every staff member. When the dental assistant put the braces on my daughter's top teeth, Dr. Kravitz had to check them before they were cured/or placed permanent. His positives words to his assistant were "stunning, just stunning". He has a personality that shines and promotes positive energy in his office. I am so glad we have this opportunity to work with such a caring, positive, knowledgeable and generous doctor. With Dr. Kravitz, his staff and office manager they make braces and other orthodontic treatment very flexible for my low income budget. I really like how Dr. Kravitz gives so much back to the community in Loudoun County. Dr. Kravitz is an incredible orthodonist. His office has the most advanced technologies and they have a great customer service orientation. He definitely does not use a one-size-fits-all approach! Dr. Kravitz customized my treatment to use a variety of techniques (traditional braces on the bottom teeth and incognito braces on the top for half my treatment, and invisalign treatment for the last half of treatment). The office hours were more convenient than most, and visits tended to be quick with very minimal waiting. Dr. Kravitz would even stay late or come in on an off-day if there was an urgent need. The office is also very nice, modern, and impeccably clean. Towards the end of treatment I had to move to California for my husband's job and we were able to work out a way to wrap up treatment even from across the country with some visits here and there when I was back in town. Dr. Kravitz is very flexible, extremely responsive to email and phone questions, and genuinely wants to listen to you about what your goals are out of treatment. I also felt like he really cared about how I was feeling about treatment and was very compassionate during the times I was struggling with some of the challenges that can come with any orthodontic care. Kravitz Orthodontics SAVED US!!! We called their office on an early Sunday morning expecting to get an answering machine....Instead, it was Dr. Kravitz who immediately answered our call and told us to come straight to his office. We arrived at the South Riding location and Dr. Kravitz along with his amazing team worked magic on my daughter's traumatic injury. We left relieved, with a plan in place going forward to get her broken front tooth fixed and realigned. We were able to leave Kravitz Orthodontics the same day with her smile left intact and with both of us comforted. We cannot thank Dr. Kravitz enough! He is an Angel who walks among us and his entire team are heroes!! If I could give 10 stars, I would! I currently have three teenagers who are all patients of Dr. Kravitz, two with traditional braces and one with Invisalign. Dr. Kravitz and his entire staff at both the One Loudoun and South Riding locations, ALWAYS go above and beyond for us.
