Went to get a nail out of my tire and get it patched at one of the only places open on a Sunday quarter to close- they come in to greet me after 6 min it's now 4:51 and refuses service to me and recommends me to go to another tire business that also closes at 5 that is a 7 min drive away! Don't waste your time with this dump!!!!! First of all , they quoted me $2500 for a brake job!!!! Second , I had an appt. for 10AM and they didn't even look at the vehicle until 2PM. Was given the line that parts had to be special ordered. Need my vehicle so I said OK. Come to find out they sourced them locally and all the work was completed in hours. The parts were $300 each and sourced locally for $115. Guess which amount I was charged? ​Heard this line given to other customers while I was there and employees telling other employees to be quiet about it. Extra work related to the work being performed (alignment) was not suggested which would wear out other parts and paperwork received with another $800 worth of suggested work. If the parts up-charge was not intentionally done all of the work could have been completed had someone just suggested or called to complete all of the suggested work. I don't mind paying for work but this is deceptive. read more

Took my 2004 X5 in to have a wheel bearing replaced. Based on doing a little research before taking it in, I expected the cost to be somewhere between $300-$400 dollars-I knew it wasn't an easy repair, so it would take a couple of hours, so $250 or so in labor. Priced the parts locally from the company many shops use for parts and they were about $150. Imagine my surprise when I was quoted $1986.19 for the repair! They claimed they would only use dealer parts (LOL.....nobody uses BMW OEM parts unless there's no LKQ parts available, and there were LKQ parts available), and the parts cost alone was $706.72, including an ABS sensor that didn't need to be replaced. On top of that, they claimed I needed a new CV axle on that side of the truck, and wanted an additional $665 for that-$303.99 for the axle ($101 retail at LKQ parts supplier), and $361 additional dollars in labor. The labor charge for the shaft was complete fabrication-all the work to replace the shaft is covered by the labor to replace the bearing, short of the last step, which is literally pulling the shaft out of the transfer case-it's a 30 second process, 2 minutes if it sticks. They hope and pray customers don't know anything about vehicles or repairs when they quote jobs, and based on other reviews, I'm not the first (or unfortunately, probably not the last) customer they've tried this on. If they're doing repair work for you, proceed at your own risk-chances are they've padded your bill somewhere. Found a different shop locally that quoted me $370 for the job, so they're getting the work. read more

One huge advantage to them, they are evidently the only place to get a new tire on a Sunday; so they can treat you as they wish. Oh joy. I personally believe that the technician (Jake) needs glasses or an eye exam - and manners. I greatly enjoyed being yelled at for parking a car in front of their bay & blocking access to it, especially since the driver of the vehicle was still behind the wheel & very clearly not me. I guess it's better that he yelled at me & not at the elderly person actually driving it... They are clearly a frustrated lot, not what I would call professional. I don't give a damn how frustrated you are, is still important to treat your customers with respect. It seems as though they were competent in getting a new tire on the car. The guy at the front counter was professional & pleasant. Due to the service techs, I do not recommend this place at all unless you have no other choice (and if you can, drive to another city). read more

Went in for an alignment just had entire front end rebuilt All new parts And new tires put on and balanced. By someone else but they didn't have a alignment machine. So brought to tires plus they supposedly looked it over then told me the whole front end would have to be rebuilt again for 2900 bucks for all ball joints that were perfect. What a joke they have no idea what there doing at all . If you take your car there you run the risk of it coming out worse then when it went in . There only mission is to up charge everything broke or not they don't care it's only about how much they can con you out of . Don't trust these clowns with any thing. . I bout tires from tire rack and saved almost 400 bucks from there mark up . Tires plus is the worst . My wife is a better mechanic. Took truck to dealership fix in 2 hours perfect. And only cost 150 bucks said with all the new parts I put on should last awhile. Never going back to tires plus . The plus means 2000 dollars in mark ups before they start working . Worst place ever, took my truck there to have a brake line repaired from the rear axle to the rear drivers side caliper( about maybe two feet of tubing). they called me to try to sell me 1500 worth of parts that I didnt need. in the end the line cost almost 400 to repair and on top of it the man at the counter pretty much tells me he used to sell cars and that was one of the tactics they used. was to sell more. the messed up part is not soon after two days the line was leaking. guess they forgot to tighten it down to the caliper. read more

Went in for a simple alignment and they tell me I need $750 worth of work. I have a steady mechanic I TRUST so I take my truck to him ASAP. Everything they diagnosed was wrong. Dead wrong. I called tires plus and tell them this and the guy on the other end says well bring it in! I'll do the alignment for you! Uhhh noooooo. Why would I trust you at this point. Needed an oil change and had a low tire and checked the Tires Plus website. It told me my total for said service would be $37.51. They also had a printable coupon for $10 off any oil change. I printed out everything and brought it in with me. I told the gentleman at the counter i had a coupon prior to the service. He said that, that was okay. Then the manager, Tim came out and said that he wouldn't honor it. He said that was an "online thing and he doesn't honor those." I told him that i printed it off of the Tires Plus website. I threatened to write up a BBB report and he said, "okay we'll honor it this time." I thanked him and told him that. 'i was just trying to get an oil change'. My truck took about an hour. I paid and they handed me the keys. I got in my truck and my low tire light was still on. I looked at my inspection report and it said, "customer waived inspection." Evidently, me telling them i 'just want an oil change' means that i don't want my other fluids topped off or anything checked. Now i'm not even sure they even changed the oil. Won't be back. If i were you, i wouldn't either... especially after reading everyone else's experiences. read more

Wow! I've never written a review. I did get a survey about the service I received and gave good marks across the board. Now the rest of the story. I asked for my two rear tires to be replaced, that and an oil change. I was told my front left ball joint needed replaced and they quoted me $285. I declined. I drove the car for 20-30 minutes and all seemed well. I left Moline, Illinois for Austin and before I made it to Springfield, Illinois my front left wheel nearly fell off!. What the hell were they doing removing my front tires??? I was clear...replace the rear two, the front two were replaced less than six months prior. I would never have thought to check that they put that wheel back on correctly and tightened the lug nuts....NEVER...they didn't need to touch it! They didn't tighten the lug nuts . When I finally wobbled in to AAA service in Springfield (5 stars) he advised...we rate ball joints on a scale of 1-10 (1 great/new 10 shot) mine were 2.5, thus no need to replace. Three lug nuts came off, the three studs snapped and the mechanic I took my car to was stunned that I made it without the wheel falling off. The damage that may have caused, not just to me but others, still has me furious. I don't care what TP can say, what they did was gross negligence all the while trying to soak me for something I didn't need. Needless to say, negligence is the nicest part of it...heaven forbid it was done with malice of forethought. AVOID like the plague ( cost to repair the damage they caused $188) more than the cost to sue because I'm 1100 miles away. read more

Hate to say it but I've been steady at this location and I believe I've gotten fleeced on a couple occasions. For my 6 year old compact car, a bulge appeared on a newly replaced tire that I paid the extra warranty $ for ($20 per tire I believe). They claimed that they would replace the deformed tire at no extra cost to me, but the opposite tire required to be changed out at the same time, but I would have to pay for that. To me, this should have been covered under the warranty also. The second fleecing came at 120k miles when I had the shocks replaced due to some minor cupping found on rear tires. (to the tune of $850 to replace 2 tires, 2 shocks, and a 4wheel alignment) OK, the car is getting a little old, I guess that is about right for this work. Forward 8 months and 18k later, I now live 3 hours away, I take my car in to a DEALER to investigate why my tires are terribly cupped, and they explain the shocks are blown and to take it back to where I had recently purchased them. So on my next trip back to town 2 weeks later, I take the car back to a tires plus and they say the shocks are blown "due to abuse". What? How do you abuse shocks in a less than 2500 lb compact car in well less than 18k miles? Did they put bicycle shocks on there? Did they install previously blown shocks? Needless to say, they did not honor any kind of warranty and I foolishly shelled out another $750 for 2 new tires and 2 new shocks. At least I got a verbal commitment from the mechanic that "you should be good now". But I will take that with a grain of salt. read more

I received the call this morning, spoke to the manager about my experience. As expected, he did apologize and stated that they should have helped me that night. I agreed. Just because it would have been a minimal sale of $20 or so dollars, the future sale of $800 plus is what was a stake. Still probably wont go back since I have multiple choices for tires. Unfortunately, they had their chance that night to gain a customer but a decision by the person working the counter cost them that chance. Although I do appreciate the apology, it is almost required to do at that point by the manage, I WILL NOT GO BACK TO THIS TIRE PLUS. read more

I changed a tie rod and the brake pads on my F150 and needed a wheel alignment so I went to Tires Plus for the advertised $69.99 wheel alignment, they told me to "bring it right in, we can take care of you now". They looked at my truck and said I needed new brake rotors and pads. I JUST CHANGED the brake pads THE DAY BEFORE. So, then the mechanic tells the "sales expert" that the ball joint is loose and needs replaced. I just checked that when replacing the tie rod...not true. In the end, they wanted to do $950.00 worth of un-needed work on my truck, and I declined. Although they pressed hard ("we can't align your tires if the ball joint is loose) when I said fine, pull my truck out and I'll go elsewhere, they gave me a final bill for alignment, which they evidently did do anyway? I bet you will never get out of this shop without them "finding" several hundred dollars of repairs that "need to be done". This is the place that gives mechanics a bad name. read more
