We've been using Tires Plus's Greenwood, Indiana, branch since 2017. My truck needed the serpentine belt replaced. The dealer quoted me $490.00. I called Tires Plus and told them the dealer's quote. Their laughter echoed through the phone. Once the person on the phone finished laughing, he asked me to wait a minute while he looked up the pricing. After a minute or so, I heard all the mechanics laughing in the shop. As it turned out, they charged me right around $170. I of course made the appointment (same day). We've used them ever since on both of our vehicles. We have never had an issue with their service or their pricing. Not one. I heartily recommend their services to all! read more

I showed up without an appointment to have my breaks checked. They were able to get me in right away. They checked out my brakes, found out what was wrong and was able to diagnosis the issue. They explained the issue thoroughly and also pointed out some other issues with my vehicle that needed to be addressed. They actually showed me on the vehicle what was wrong and I saw and understood it. I did not feel any pressure to get any of the work done, which was a pleasant surprise. I opted to get the brakes fixed and they were not busy so they took care of it right there. I hung out in their waiting area which has free wifi, a phone charging station, and basic cable on television. I was not there long. I would say about an hour and a half. The staff there was friendly informative and very helpful. After my brake job was done, they gave me a printout with the other work that needed to be done and estimates for each. My visit here was refreshing. I normally hate going to car repair shops because I feel that most of them take advantage of you. I did not feel that here. I knew that I needed brakes and it was a reasonable price (they gave me some discounts). They also did not try to up sell or pressure me to getting more work done. read more

Had a 12pm appointment to check for a tire leak, supposedly found a bulge in a tire. We had the tire looked at a few days before at another shop that didn't see a bulge, but couldn't get the tire fixed in time for us. They said we needed 4 tires, then an alignment, 4 hours there and they had no idea what our status was or who we were. While waiting we overheard them tell a girl with a nail in her tread that she needed a new tire, told another girl that came in for air that she needed 3 new tires because they were dangerous. Funny how everyone we overheard them talk with had the exact same tread depth. read more

My husband and I had a tire emergency and couldn't get our lug nuts off. We had a bunch of people trying to help and eventually we were able to get the donut on with stripped lug nuts and took it immediately to this shop to see Robert and his crew. We were greeted with nothing but kindness and respect. They not only replaced the tire, but they helped us get new lug nuts to replace the stripped ones! Everything was done insanely fast compared to other mechanics I have been to. While we waited they had clean restrooms, a kid friendly waiting area, and Robert talked to my autistic son about his dinosaurs multiple times. Robert was more than kind and we highly recommend coming to this tire shop for their car care. read more

I've been using Tires Plus in Greenwood, IN exclusively for all of our cars for the past two years. I started out with needing a belt change done on my 2012 FJ Cruiser. The Toyota dealer was going to do it for $450. Somebody mentioned Tires Plus so I stopped by. They burst out laughing when I told them what the dealer was going to charge. They quoted me $120.00 so I let them do it. After the work was done, my bill was EXACTLY what they quoted. I've bought 2 full sets of tires from them, top end range tires. They've done my simple maintenance for me. I have nothing but good things to say about their facility, their people, and their work ethic. read more

I have been a Tires Plus customer for 25 years. I always take my cars to them. I have had service over this time in at least 4 Tires Plus locations and have gotten great service in all of them. The one I go to now in Greenwood, IN is really great. They have good service, the lead mechanic will sit down and discuss issues with you, and they are prompt and do excellent work. I was in the shop at greenwood to get estimate on my 2012 Hydaui sonata and he gave me an estimate of 360.00 to fix it,I said ( you're sure?) and he said, that shocked me because I went to 2 other garages before him and 1 quoted me 850.00 , the other 1540.00 and said I needed a whole new rake....which I did not need. I always get 2-3 estimates, and the head tech Mark Rhodes is one amazing mechanic! They have done some work for me in the past, I should hope that the manager and Mark stay happy there. I used to take my car here to get oil changes when there was a sale. The sells usually came from coupons via email. However I do usually have difficulty with the front desk because they always swear that the coupons do not include synthetic oil changes when it does. So while it's slightly annoying it doesn't bother me enough to stop coming here. They're usually pretty fast and they only take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete my oil change at any given time especially when I have an appointment. However I have went twice without an appointment and I have still been able to serve me in the same time frame. I'll just say be careful with the coupons here make sure that your firm with them and they should not give you too much of an issue. read more

Waited 2 hours for them to tell me I had a nail in my tire. They claimed the nail was "in at an angle" and I would need to buy a new tire. I know nothing of cars and even I knew this was BS. Took it to a different place (tire barn on US 31) and they had no problem patching it and I was out in 20 mins. They are con artists. read more

I just took 2 of my cars in for alignments after replacing every part of the front suspension on one and every part of the front AND rear suspension on the other. I didn't get my alignment printouts when I left, and had to ask for them. Once I saw them, I knew why. One car had the camber off by over a full degree on all 4 wheels, and the other had it out by over 2 degrees! I had bought the SPECIFIC camber adjustment bolts THEY told me to buy and had them professionally installed, and the response was "that's as close as we could get it". For those of you that don't know much about alignments, the state they left them in after deeming them "acceptable" will cause my tires to wear at least twice as fast as they should, and their tire warranty does not cover "abnormal wear". What a perfect scam. Save your money, and definitely DONT buy the lifetime alignment they try to sell you. They won't actually align your car. Aligning a car takes work and attention to detail, and that is something that this company sorely lacks. read more

Last Sunday, called Tire plus and ordered two tires. Was told that any problem, someone would call me. My appt was Tuesday AM at 7. Not only did my tires not come in, no one bothered to call and tell me Went home called Tired Barn. Same nightmare as Tire Plus. I was furious. No one bothered to call and let me know they weren't there. Had to waste my time waiting while they went to get them. However, Tire Barn did have them in about 2 hours and gave me a discount. It appears Goodyear is the only one that makes the size I need. Will call them see what happens. read more

I called them and was able to make an apt. same day for an oil change. They were courteous and best of all prompt. I was done in about 45 minutes. They gave me a few recommendations but didn't pressure to upsell me on anything. They also gave me a $10 off coupon for my oil change which I was not aware of. I would use them again. read more

I've always come here for oil changes and tire rotations and never had a problem till today. I did my oil and rotation but also did a coolant flush. After I paid and left, I went elsewhere to get my air filter and tune up completed by a friend that works at a shop. He pointed out to me coolant in places they never cleaned up in the engine. They failed to even top the coolant and they also left the dipstick out to the oil. After spending 130 bucks you would think they would do a superior job. I called and took the car back for them to clean up. Considering I spent 2 hours the first time waiting on it, I had to wait again. All I received was a sorry about that. read more

I was a loyal customer for years even recommending tire plus to my neighbors who used them, HOWEVER I recommend not trusting them to air up a bicycle tire, one of there gimmicks is this credit card they push, they dont send you a statement until a late fee is attached, further i had them replace a tire they did not even look at the tire light lit on the dash, the back tire had 8lb psi, obliviously very dangerous, they don"t exam or warn of these things, they give you estimates not in line with industry standards, very Ghetto shop, read more

(Greenwood, Indiana location): I agree with the post that believes that they lean towards being "con artists". For example, when I had a tire problem, they only showed me one model of tire, and said this is the tire for your car--and acted (insisted?) there were no other options. I learned when I got home that I bought "top tier" tires, whereas normally I would buy "2nd tier" tires, as I don't drive very much. Overzealous selling? Beware that when they sell you a "brake fluid flush" that they only mean they are going to "bleed" the brakes (of air). I find this ridiculous! They have taken standard terminology and changed it's meaning within their establishment to so that your brake job appears a little less expensive than it will turn out to be (and you don't get what you thought you did). They tried to sell me "battery cleaning service" on a brand new battery (just a few days old). I never seem to get the feeling that they care about my car as much as I do when I go there--and you almost never get to speak to a mechanic before or after the sale. They get irritated if you ask technical questions at the sales counter. It feels like they are playing a game. Instead I get the feeling that the salespeople are mostly interested in making that final figure look "fatter". Is that why they call them salespeople (maybe it's not really their fault?). IMO, they would and could take advantage of a mechanically-naive person. I feel like they took advantage of me in the tire purchase I described at the top. That's what I get for not knowing I would need tires in advance, and (thus) doing my homework online before going there... I have other thoughts and experiences there, but this is just to give you a flavor. Their work is probably sufficient for standard maintenance. I have had some work done that I think I could have done better myself. But then again, it's my car, not theirs... They complete the job, they get paid. They don't get extra for "neatness" (or a "professional looking" repair) ..ha! : ) I also had to wipe up a long grease smear from my car seat when I picked up my car today. I guess time is money.... Maybe they didn't see it, maybe they didn't care. I once saw a mechanic there *slam* the hood of my car Much harder than I ever would. Bad day? He probably didn't realize that the car's owner was standing 20 feet away watching. So, in short, although I have been a "long term customer", I have some reservations about the place. I recently had a blowout and needed a new tire, it was covered under my road hazard plan that I purchased when I bought 4 new tires about 3 months earlier. 4 days later I had the same thing happen to the new tire I had purchased and I came in again to get another tire under the new road hazard plan for the new tire. They said the tire was worn to 9/32, and should have been 10/32. The difference in my replacement price was only $6, but I still can not see how the tire got worn in 4 days! I told the service rep on duty (Michael) that the tire must not have been 10/32 to begin with. He said no. I paid the difference, but I don't see why a business would allow this obvious fault in logic to ruin its reputation for customer satisfaction. After all, the tire was 4 days old! I'm not asking for a $6 refund, but I will look for someplace else to take my car. read more

I'll begin by stating that I've done business with their Greenwood Mall location in Indianapolis since I moved here in 2004. This includes every service that I don't do myself on my daily drivers and SCCA event cars. They've always treated me right... until a recent change in managers. I could give 20 examples, but I'll stick to 2 or 3. Up until my recent string of bad experiences, it wasn't uncommon for me to have a vehicle there for an expensive service (automatic transaxle fluid exchange, differential or transfer case service, etc.) at least once a month and sometimes multiple vehicles in a given month. For the sake of debate, my highly-exotic vehicle is a 2014 Mazda5 with under 60,000 miles (same chassis as a 2009+ Mazda 3). This is the vehicle I spend most of my time in and the one that I want to go down the road smoothly in. Not an unreasonable request... or is it? Example 1: Scheduled appointment for oil change and swap to winter tires and wheels in December 2017. Result, forgot to change oil... the main reason I brought the vehicle in. Nobody here listens unless you ask at least 3 times. During this process, they tried to upsell me on new rotors and pads for nearly $800.00. Also, my OEM wheel lock key mysteriously came up missing, so I asked them to throw the locks in the trash and install normal lugs once they removed them. At pick-up, locks had been reinstalled. Example 2: April 2017... Scheduled appointment for oil change and new all-season tires to replace old winter tires and install TPMS sensors in winter wheels since I'll now be driving on them all year (snowfall here is usually minimal and I have other AWD vehicles for bad conditions). Result was 'that's a hard size to find' for 205/50R17... simply ridiculous. Had to settle for budget firestone $100.00 tires to replace $200.00 winter performance blizzak. Result: Tires installed, oil change done, zero attention paid to TPMS sensor request and I was not told they didn't install them until I figured it out myself while driving to reset them. Called back and was told "we installed a new TPMS service kit" which was a lie as the stems physically bolt to the sensor (they actually installed new valve stems... which now cost $40.00 instead of $4.00 because of the TPMS buzz-word). During this process, they tried to upsell me on new rotors and pads for nearly $800.00. Also, they tried to upcharge because my OEM wheel lock key could not be found. This time I asked them to install 20 new lugs. Now, the locks are finally gone. Example 3: April 2017... Scheduled appointment (at a different store this time) for TPMS sensors forgotten a week earlier. Confirmed correct sensors in stock by lady at the front desk (no prejudice, the previous manager was male) and requested they not lose hub centric rings and please rebalance tires. Arrived at store, had to physically look up part number and cross-reference for employee to find they had none in stock (standard 2009+ Mazda frequency TPMS sensor). After missing an hour and a half of work that I'll never get back, I left with the promise sensors would be there in a few days. Example 4: May 2017... Rescheduled appointment from example 3 above. Wife had to take vehicle in. TPMS sensors installed. 2 hub centric rings missing, wheels not rebalanced after installation. I will note that I was refunded $40.00 for previous service kit as I was buying yet another one with the actual sensors (i.e. stems are already installed on them). I'm literally at the end of the rope with this chain. I did inquire about the previous managers I'd dealt with to find they'd all been promoted. I won't name them, but they were outstanding at actually listening and doing what they were asked instead of looking for an upsell and doing what they believe needs done. I've ordered a new set of centering rings, but have had to drive on the interstate for a week on brand new tires out of balance between 50 and 70mph. I'm sure they're completely shot, all because neither a tech nor a manager can use common sense or double-check their work. So, 2 sets of tires in 4 weeks. I paid for road hazard on the first set (additional 25%), but apparently it doesn't cover their mistakes. read more
