My husband dropped off my car at the Tires Plus on 39th Ave in Gainesville, Florida to get a headlight fixed on Wednesday, June 29th. Finally, after he had been waiting about 3 hours, he was informed we needed more than a new headlight and they'd have to order the part, so the car spent the night at Tires Plus. They assured my husband the parts would be in the shop by 1:00 p.m. the next day (Thursday, June 30th) and they would call when the car was ready. When 3 o'clock rolled around, I asked my husband to call Tires Plus. When he did, they said FedEx hadn't delivered the part yet. My husband and I were a little upset because even though our suitcases were packed and we were ready to go out of town for my mother's birthday dinner, we did not have my GMC Acadia Denali. Twenty minutes later, Tires Plus called back and said my car was ready. By this time, we had already packed my husband's much smaller car for the trip. We did, however, stop by Tires Plus on 39th Ave to pay the invoice ($692.46) before jumping on the interstate and heading out of town. My Acadia was parked directly beside the dumpster fence when we left on Thursday and this is where we found it when we returned yesterday (Sunday, July 3rd) evening, after closing time, to retrieve it. My right headlight, the one that prompted us to take the car into Tires Plus in the first place, still did not work. I tried low beams; I tried high beams. Nothing worked. We had waited for an initial evaluation, for delivery of the parts, and again for pick up. Not only had our weekend trip been affected, but I am leaving to go out of state tomorrow morning and have a car with ONLY ONE FUNCTIONING HEADLIGHT. I cannot be driving through and around mountains with only one headlight. It is absolutely unacceptable that Tires Plus did not fix this issue between Wednesday afternoon and last night (4 and a half days)! I am frustrated and more than a little irritated and would like someone to contact me immediately. The fact that I have to take the time to write this is also unacceptable. My husband always chooses Tires Plus on 39th Ave for tires, parts, and installation for all of our vehicles. If this issue doesn't get resolved today, however, I will insist we find a new company to provide such services in the future.
I realize today is a holiday, but since my weekend and time off has been greatly interrupted, I am not feeling my usual gracious self. Plus, if you remember, I have no safe vehicle for travel tomorrow morning and so, if this gets the attention of someone who can address the problem asap, then I have chosen wisely. Please check your email, Socialcare@bfrc.com; I sent you a copy of this letter.
I would be more than happy to remove this review if I hear from you or a helpful Tires Plus representative today. In the event I do not, however, I think it's only fair to warn Gainesville and the surrounding community about Tires Plus and their work ethic. read more
