I've used this company many times to buy tires and wheels and a few other parts and they've always been really good. You can call the 800 number and the people that help you are really knowledgeable and they know a lot about their products and can help you match up wheels and tires to your specific car and platform that you're looking for Their prices have always been really good and competitive and they always seem to have quite a bit of stuff in stock I would highly recommend this company when you're looking for quality, tires, and wheels the reviews and the information they give you about tires this second to none. I will use this company many times in the future Due to this fact that I found how helpful and nice they are and how fast the shipping is as well A+ all the way read more

Me: I just placed an order and received a replacement tire (Order# ?????).  This tire was the exact same brand & size as the original purchase, but seems to protrude past my fender well. I have yet to drive on this tire as, I walked it in to get the tire replaced.  I had the tire mounted and brought the wheel home to install it myself.  I wasn't able to notice the difference until I lowered the vehicle onto the ground. It is a very noticeable difference! I have a 2011 Mercedes E550 that has an air suspension system that lowers when not in use and I am afraid that the vehicle will now sit on the tire at the fender.  I cannot under any circumstances keep this tire, so I need to know is there anything that can be done? Tire Rack: For returns they have to be new and undamaged. My understanding is these were mounted and had the weight of the vehicle on them, which isn't great but could still be returned if the car wasn't rolled at all as otherwise we would notice on inspection and it would affect the refund as it isn't considered new at that point. Has the car rolled on the tire at all? Thank you, Patricia Me: I did drive around the block to see if they would rub. Tire Rack: In this instance I would not be able to return it due to the order having been driven on, I apologize. I would recommend contacting our warranty department to see if the trial warranty can be used to return the tire. They can be reached at 888-981-3953 ext 4950 Me: Upon further investigation, I believe I have found the discrepancy in your description. This time I did a search by brand and size only. Tire rack offers two tires In the same size with a variation of tread width(9.6" VS 10.4). This difference is not presented in the description. This is not my fault! Tire Rack: There was no vehicle information entered into the order so there was no site check for the vehicle. I highly suggest contacting the warranty department. Me: I did use the vehicle search. Is it really going to come down to this? I bought the replacement tire through you guys. I didn't have to do that. I did this all in good faith, was upfront & honest. This doesn't feel right. TIre Rack: The best I can do is offer you a 20% discount on the correct tire. Me: Is that the best you can do? I am going to be out of almost $1000, just to replace one tire! Tire Rack: OK, 25%... Tire Rack never even acknowledged the discrepancy. I received the most vague, indirect or weakest of excuses. Deflection and victim blaming at best! I felt forced and entrapped to continue to do business with them, as I am in a bind with no options. I bought a tire from them that failed in less than four months. Bought a replacement tire at full price, by looking at my purchase history and selecting the same tire. The tire turned out to be incorrect, due to no variation in description. I had done all of the research, furnished all the proof and still was given little to no acknowledgement at all! I have several cars and buy tires at least every two years. I haven't bought tires from Tire Rack in over 20 years. I couldn't remember why before, but boy did they remind me... Do business with them at your own risk. Ask tons of questions before you commit. Make someone contact you in writing to confirm. My initial price was incredible enough to reel me in. My overall experience was bad enough to overlook any deals in the future. I'm sorry, Discount Tire, I will never stray from you again! After doing all the math. I lost $100's in this overall experience. Update: I just got off the phone with one of the most pleasant customer service representatives I've ever experienced(Elise). She attentively listened to me rant, rage and rumble on about my experience. All while maintaining composure, she replied with full acknowledgement of my experience. She then proceeded to decrease my losses to what I thought I heard to be 25% but later discovered it was $25. After that, she attentively listened to me offer a solution to this problem to ensure that it never happens to anyone else. If you feel you are legitimately wronged in your Tire Rack experience, I recommend that you gather as much concrete proof as you can and continue to talk until someone listens. I still feel like I had to pay for Tire Racks mistake, but at least it won't happen to someone else. read more

To John V. who responded. I DID contact customer support by phone. I was told my call would be directed to the manager. I did not wish to speak with the manager as she was rude and confrontational. Tire Rack gave me the run-around about a warranty issue on two of four tires I purchased and were damaged because of road hazards. They denied coverage and said the manufacture was responsible. They wouldn't even give me the contact information for the manufacture. Tire Rack is now on my DO NOT PURCHASE list after purchasing 8 plus sets of 4 tires over the years. "Free road hazard warranty" my butt, free for nothing. Stand clear of Tire Rack. Here is Michael's statement, which mirrors my issue with them: I have used Tire Rack for decades. That is going to change. Their Road Hazard warranty program is terrible! It is administered by a company that Tire Tick has subcontracted with, and it seems that their only purpose is to deny claims no matter what! I would even say that their denials are fraudulent, and I predict that they may get into a class action lawsuit regarding illegal denial of claims. They make you submit/resubmit/... the documentation. They look for any reason to deny the claim. In my case, they said that my claim was not submitted within 2 months, so they denied it. I asked them to show me that clause in their Ts & Cs. They could not, because it is not there! Then they said that I need to talk directly to Tire Rack and not them (I had called Tire Rack Customer Service and they transferred me to their subcontractor who was making all of the denials...complete "finger pointing" and "passing the buck"!). This all happened over NUMEROUS, time wasting iterations. They just deny! deny! deny! Well, I'm finished with them, and I think that you should be too, if you want good, honest service! Purchased tires, then approximately 2 months later had a blow out on vacation 2 states away from home late on a Friday. Called Tire Rack and by the time I got transferred to the right place, they were closed. Had tires replaced at a BMW dealer and then continued on my vacation. I get home, place a claim with all the documentation and pictures, and it gets denied because I didn't follow the 1 day rule. Tried to explain that I did, but got DENIED. Tried a manager, and I was told that I should know all of the terms and conditions, sorry! No logic, just rules. I have been a Tire Rack customer for at least a decade, but would advise against anyone using them if they expect any support that they claim they offer! read more

I have had several inquiries to Tire Rack and have participated in their online chat a number of times I was never able to complete a purchase for a variety of reasons. My latest attempt was in regards to sourcing a tire for my MotorCoach I wasn't aware that Tire Rack's inventory is limited to only a selection of passenger vehicle size tires and only after going back and forth in chat was I finally made aware that my request wasn't available (275/80 R22.5). I am sure there are some savings to be had buying online here if the customers are aware of their responsibilities and of how the process works. I wish the website was a little more detailed in their offerings and would specifically state the size tires offered and a blanket statement communicating RVs and Heavy Trucks are not part of the program. Since I never spoke to a human I can't speak about their customer service or actual purchasing transactions but at the end of the day I discovered it wasn't going to happen for me... read more

The internet is Aladdin's lamp when it comes to wish fulfillment but just the thought of buying tires by "mail" gave my acid reflux a workout. Well, I swallowed hard and took the plunge and I have to say Tire Rack delivered in spades. Ordered the rubber on Monday, they were shipped to the local installer, and on my car by Thursday. No hassles of any kind. Well done Tire Rack because I was ready to splatter blood all over this review for what I was convinced was going to be an instantly regretted hall of shame blunder on my part. Ordered a set of tires and scheduled installation through their mobile installation service. Mobile installation (ASAP Tire) called the night before the installation to reschedule from the morning to the afternoon. The day of installation they called in the morning stating that the tires were never shipped by Tire Rack. Instead of prioritizing the shipping and installation (it was their fault), they pushed the installation out another week. Literally the worst customer service ever! I placed an order for four tires last night got a call that only one is in stock, and that could be like that up to 90days. So we found a replacement tire that was a few dollars more, and then I was told due to paying with PayPal, I had to cancel my order and then reorder. I offered to pay the difference via CC and was told that was not possible as it needed to be the exact total. I then asked is there was a tire at the same price point, and of course, it was a no. So I asked would it be possible to discount the tires, and your rep Jared Freely, said, " I can't discount them just because you want me 2," which is bullshit. I tried everything I could to pay the difference, and instead of saying, "our site said they were available, and now they are not; yes, I can help you out, he was just a dick. So thank you for nothing!! Albert you didn't offer me any accommodations, simply put I was told to reorder and if the price is $6-$8 you would adjust it, you didn't offer to reorder tires, and you sure as hell didn't offer anything to remedy the situation. I have spent over $12,000 over the years on tires from Tire Rack. Adam from their customer service is especially snappy. He was unable to help me with a relatively easy problem, and proceeded to abruptly end our phone call when all I wanted was more information on other winter tire options. I would recommend one of their many competitors, whose growth depends on good customers service. As for Tire Rack, they spend more on advertising than training their staff. I purchased a set of tires on 10/11/24 and had them mounted at my local Americas Tire. On 3/13/25 I had gotten a nail on my back passenger tire. Utilizing the road hazard coverage, I went to the same Americas Tire and said I was there to get my tire repaired under the Tire Rack warranty. I asked if there was anything I needed to do before they fixed my tire and the associate just said to buy a new tire and send the receipt to Tire Rack. So, I moved forward with purchasing a new tire. I left my vehicle there and 20 minutes later the manager called me and said they had stripped one of my lug nuts and could not get the tire off. So the new tire I just purchased was not put on. I then had to get the stripped lug nut out and bring it back to get the new tire mounted on 3/31/25. I then called to submit the claim because the job was complete. The gentleman on the phone went through the whole process and I submitted pics and documents of the repair while on the phone with him. He stated that the reimbursed amount of $120.45 would be sent out in the mail that day. I asked why it was only a partial amount because I paid $240.00 for the new tire at Americas Tire. He said he would ask his supervisor, and someone would get back to me the following day. The next day the claim was denied because I didn't get pre-authorization before the repairs were made. I called numerous times to see if the claim could be paid out or reopened and I was told neither could be done. New tires were dirty, looked used and old. I called customer service and the representative didn't believe me, argued with me, told me I wasn't correct, and acted like nothing was wrong. I sent a picture, and He made me wait while he consulted with a "tire expert" only to tell me nothing was wrong. Then after making me wait again for another day, the only option I was offered was to buy another set of tires at my expense, and was warned that if the set I was returning had any damage, I would have to pay for both sets. I cannot afford another set of tires or to take the chance that i would have to pay for both sets. So after asking for his supervisor, I was told I would have to wait for another call, which, of course, I never received. The picture is my "brand new" tires. UPDATE: After having to contact the customer service rep again, I finally did receive a call from a supervisor who was very polite and understanding. She offered me some money back on my tires which I accepted. Please train your first contact reps to be more polite, apologetic, and helpful. Remember, the customer is always right. Why argue with the person who pays for your product? UPDATE: Had a couple of unfortunate incidents with road hazards, and needed to take advantage of their hazard insurance. Customer service was very good, rules are easy to follow and I received my replacement tires quickly. This time I had the tires delivered right to my door. They were in brand new shape. good experience. UPDATE: After receiving my check for the replacement tire, I didn't cash it, and forgot all about it (duh). Tire Rack contacted me to tell me I didn't cash the check. I had no idea. I totally forgot. They sent me a new check (which I did cash). Ordered tires last night and was able to make an appointment for this afternoon. The entire process was so easy and everyone I spoke with was both professional and very kind. When I arrived for my appointment, they were great about explaining the process. There was an immaculate indoor waiting room and fabulous Adirondack chairs outside to wait in on good weather days. Spotless restrooms were also available. The installers ran into an issue due to the wheel lock not being in my vehicle. This was absolutely NOT their fault and they couldn't have been nicer assisting me with looking for it and then letting me know my options. We waited more than 4 months for the "dust to settle," on the problems we had with Tire Rack as well as Continental/General before writing this review, so that our comments would be factual and not reactionary. We decided to provided this review not to bash Tire Rack but out of a sense of obligation to inform the Distant Consumer of what we learned when we had a problem. If you are in a reasonable drive of South Bend, Indiana, we see no reason not to patronize Tire Rack, but if you are getting tires Shipped--we Won't do that anymore. Our family, our three cars, were happy Tire Rack customers for approximately 10 years, with approximately 5 sets of tire orders during that period. When we experienced a problem with the most recent set this past fall, and reported it to them, the behavior of Tire Rack made us feel like you would if you were removed from your cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic, and placed in a row boat to make it back to shore. What we learned last fall is that Tire Rack is great provided that everything goes well with your tires, but if there is a problem, they are 100's and 1000's of miles away, and you have limited recourse, local dealers will not help, nor will the Tire Manufacturer until you get the tires back to your retailer--Tire Rack--at your expense. So when you purchase from Tire Rack, know that if you have any problems--you can't just go to a local dealer for that brand--they are not your Retailer. Tire Rack is your Retailer and Tire Rack has no way to inspect your tires until you ship them back, because their only location is in Indiana. And shipping back tires is not like shipping back a pair of shoes. Detail Summary: In the Fall of 2013, 3 of 4 General Tires purchased at TireRack developed bulges in the same place on the sidewall when the tires were over a year old and had approx. 15K miles on them. We contacted Tire Rack who said to send photos and we will get a return call in 1-2 days. We sent photos and received an email a week later that offered no solution. We called Continental Tire who owns General and they set us up for an inspection with one of their inspectors who also happens to be one of Tire Rack's 5 star installers. The owner of the shop personally inspected the tires and told us and Continental that the bulges were not caused by road hazard, there were no broken cords, and that they needed to be replaced. If the tires were purchased from his shop he may have replaced them and shipped them back to Continental for credit--done deal. Here is the "Catch" that we found ourselves in and you may also: Because Tire Rack was the official retailer--Continental/General under their Tire Warranty would only pay us 50% of the value of the tire until we shipped the Tires back to the Official Retailer, Tire Rack AND Purchased another set of either Continental or General Tires for the effected car from Tire Rack. Tire Rack in turn agreed to refund us 100% of what we paid for the General Tires, minus the cost of shipping the tires both ways. The cost of Balancing and Mounting was on us too because Tire Rack did not personally Mount and Balance the tires. So our net cost to return the defective tires and receive a new set was over $160.00 (Approx 50 each way to ship x 2=100, plus 60 for Mount and Balance 4 tires.) Tire Rack will not refund the original shipping costs nor will they pay for shipping the new replacement tires nor will they pay for any mounting and balancing. These are all costs that may have been covered had the tires been purchased from a Retailer around the corner from your house if you had a problem necessitating a replacement. On top of all this, it took 3 weeks! and over 20 emails, more than 10 phone messages/calls, 2 calls to supervisors at Tire Rack to get this matter resolved. The responses from Tire Rack were as slow as a Turtle. You had to stay on top of them daily. It was a serious time commitment on our behalf. This costly experience was so emblazoned in our minds that it will be hard to order tires on the internet again from any distant Retailer. It is way too much trouble when something went wrong with tires. You just can't place them in a box, bring them to the post office and ship them back! It's a major hassle and you should think of that carefully before ordering tires on the internet. Learn from our heartache. Again, we want to restate--if we resided within a reasonable driving distance of Tire Rack in Indiana, we would have no problem buying and having them install our tires in their shop. But if something goes wrong with your tires ordered on the internet, not installed by Tire Rack, manufacture warranty policies will apply, and the practicality of removing and shipping tires back to Tire Rack are just not the best consumer practice we are sorry to have to report. (Photos of the Tires pre and post inspection are attached.) read more

My experience with this company started out the same as most of the reviews here. Approximately 6 months into using these tires they started cracking on the side wall. I contact tire rack and after going through over a month of emails about their robust warranty program, I was meant with three different unwarrantable conditions including "driving tires that are under inflated." I even took to Discount Tire and they evaluated saying "manufacturers defect." Tire rack continued to stated other reasons that the warranty would not cover over $800 worth of tires. The customer service guy said I would receive a text when the tires were ready to load into my vehicle. After we sat there for 45 minutes, I asked the guy how much longer. I am extremely disappointed with my recent tire purchase from Tire Rack. I have ordered a couple sets of tires from them in the last 2 years. 4 months ago I purchased Bridgestone Dueler H/P tires for my 2013 Cayenne. I have driven less than 4,000 miles on them and the rears are already at the wear bars. This is unacceptable and customer service did nothing to help. The tires I had previously on this car lasted 70,000 miles! My 911 that is only driven hard and is known for rear tire wear gets at least 10,000 miles out of the rears. I recently bought a set of tires at the Tire Rack. I was pleased with the price I paid. The facility is clean. The employees there were all polite and professional. My complaint and reason for the rating was how long it took. I understand things can become complicated. My vehicle also had to have all five valve stems and sensors replaced. I was there for three and a half hours. It took 90 minutes just to get my vehicle in the building. And there were six customers in front of me. Then the two additional hours to do the last work. This prevented my being able to make another appointment that morning. I may or may not return when another set of tires is needed. I just won't wait there for the work to be done. read more
