Claimed my serpentine belt was badly in need of a replacement (it was not) and tried to overcharge me. If you're going to go to any tire discounter, please only allow them to do only what you went for. Do not let them come back with things they "noticed" to be replaced, they will try to get more money out of you. Get a mechanic you can trust. read more

After standing unattended in the vacant lobby of Tire Discounters Malibu Heights (2368 Nicholasville Rd. Lexington, KY) location for several minutes, General Manager Joey Parker appeared, then proceeded to put on a full display of rudeness. He apparently was having a bad day prior to my arrival, but one would think a supervisor like Mr. Parker should be better suited to greet customers and listen to their automotive concerns instead of unleashing a string of selfish reasons why he doesn't have time or enough staff to assist a motorist in need. I opted to take my business to a nearby tire center across the street (Big O Tires) and enjoyed a pleasant experience from folks who cared. You should too! read more

I went here for a simple tire rotation and balance. However, I know one of my wheels has a very small bend in it and the other, (on the same side) has a small curb mark. The fact of the matter is, the tires are all in the same place as they were when I brought the car in. I know where the one with the bend was and I know it did not change position, as well as the one with the curb mark. I waited 45 minutes and they did not actually rotate my tires. I called to bring this to their attention, and they simply said that they "are sure they were rotated." I know they weren't. So if you actually want the service you went there for, maybe go somewhere else? read more

Horrible experience at the Tire Discounters on Newtown Pike in Lexington, KY. Avoid going here at all costs. I had a screw in my tire. They said it was irreparable, and knowing I would soon be due for tires, I made the decision to get 4 new ones at almost $1k. I noticed my low pressure warning light was still on after the new tire installation and was told, "just drive it and the warning light will go off.". Of course, it didn't. I called and they said "bring it back tomorrow and we can recalibrate it with the TPR." I take it back a second day and was told 15 minutes. After 1.5 hours, they said "take it to Toyota." I expressed frustration because that was a colossal waste of time, when they should have checked my sensors after the install and the $1k tire job. The manager says, "I'll bring that up in my meeting next week." WHAT IN THE WORLD?!? Horrible service, nonchalant attitude, and to top it off, while I waited, I got to hear all about the manager's review from what appeared to be a district manager. It's abundantly clear this shop js missing the customer service mark, let alone competency. read more

I took my vehicle to Tire Discounters for them to find out why my car hesitates when I try to start it. They told me they went out several times during the day and it started fine for them every time so they don't know what's causing it to do that sporadically. I still had to pay $86.45 for diagnostics but all they did was to start my vehicle a few times. read more

Disappointed is an understatement. Recommended our friend to this shop to get his tires changed. They somehow managed to 'lose' his almost brand new tires worth over $1,500. He was promised by managers that they would 'get to the bottom of this' only to eventually be told there's nothing they can do. My daughter whose husband is serving our country overseas went to this place for a quote on her brake, they told her $650. When she told them she could not pay that much they said well we can do it for $250, she told them she just wanted to pick her car up the guy proceeded to yell at her over the phone and told her she was going to throw a piston. What a stupid person , pistons are in the engine. I called the manager Joe and he said my daughter didn't tell me the whole story... umm yes Joe she did I was on the phone. Ridiculously Incompetent. Damaged Vehicle. Took my son's car in for rotation/alignment. Tried to tell me brakes needed replacing when they'd been replaced less than a year ago. Called to say the car was ready at 1pm, at 2:15 we got there and they had stripped & broken bolts in 3 of four wheels, and the steering wheel is at 20 degrees off center after their "alignment". I went here to replace a bad wheel that they diagnosed a few months earlier, only one bad wheel. I went in with the replacement wheel and was sold on 4 new tires. I've been back 5 times since then because instead of replacing the bad wheel with the new one they replaced the best wheel I had with the new one leaving the bent one on my car. I went back to get this resolved and had to go back again because it seems they are insistent in leaving the bent wheel on my car. 3 of the 4 tires were replaced because I complained they were older than the ones they took off the car and they wouldn't balance. Now I have the new wheel on my car along with at least two other bent wheels?!? I was confused about how this happened until I seen another car with the same wheels as mine getting a bad wheel replaced. Unfortunately the owner wasn't there for me to warn them. P.S. Calling me to argue about you being "appalled " didn't make me believe you were sincere about anything. I could go check but I don't think your words made the car ride right. read more

The tech Justin went way above to get my truck fixed and aligned. It seemed that everything he tried to do the truck wasn't going to let him yet he didn't let that stop him. It took more time than he or I would have liked but the determination and attention to detail this shop gave is exceptional. Be patient and you will be rewarded. read more

I don't normally leave reviews when I have a bad experience, but after hearing similar accounts from my friends, I figured people should know to go somewhere else for their car needs. Repairs take forever at this very busy store, so the best bet is to have someone else on hand to drive you to and from the store so you don't have to wait there for hours. Their estimated wait time is often wrong, and occasionally they forget to let you know that your car is done unless you contact them first. I've had two friends get leaks patched in their tires, only to have them hear air escaping as soon as they got home. My fiancé took his car in to get a slow leak patched - not only did they tell him they could not patch it, but they lowered the car down too quickly and bust the tire, then billed HIM for their negligence after he specifically mentioned that he was not financially able to replace the whole tire at that point. The staff has been friendly enough when I've gone, but to be frank they don't really know what they're doing. I recommend becoming a Costco member just for the sake of their superior tire services - not only are the tires MUCH cheaper, but the service is faster and more reliable! read more

I usually dont leave reviews but with the experience i had, i have to. I dropped my truck off at about 10:30 in the morning for new tires and a leveling kit put on. I told them i needed it by the end of the day because i had work the next 2 days out of town. Well i called them at 6:30 that evening and they hadnt even started on it yet. I told them again that i needed it that night because of work. Well they called me at about 10 pm and told me my truck would be finished in about 20 minutes. Went and got my truck and it looked great. 3 guys decided to stay late and work over time to finish my truck. Overall, my experience was okay. They said they would have it done by closing time, 7 pm, because it was a 3 hour job. Started on the vehicle at around 7:30 pm and finished at 10:15 pm. I wouldve given this lower stars if it wasnt for justin and the 2 guys who stayed late with him to finish the truck. Because of them, i may bring my business back because they communicated well with me and was honest about what happened. They did a great job on my truck. read more

Zach was a lifesaver for me. I pulled in at about 6:25pm on a weeknight, knowing they closed at 7pm. I'd been visiting my elderly parents at Morning Pointe, was planning to drive my Dad's car back to Frankfort that evening, and catch a ride to the airport in the morning to get back home. Discovered the flat tires (two!) around 5pm, had AAA out by 6pm, and had the tires inflated again to make it to Tire Discounters by 6:25pm. Came inside and found a line. Ugh. Started to think I might need to cancel my flight back home. But they eventually got to me and after checking the tires and informing me they were too old to patch I made the decision to buy 4 new tires. Zach, the tire technician, made quick work of getting them installed and me on my way before 7pm. What a relief! And to top it off there is an amazing food truck across the street where I grabbed an amazing Gordita for dinner. Thank-you Zach and Tire Discounters for saving the day! read more

I have now had 2 appointments for routine oil changes that have EACH taken over 2.5 hours. Constantly and consistently understaffed, I watched at least four people walk in and stand for 15 to 30 minutes before they were acknowledged. A year ago, we had to spend more money to take our car to the dealership for them to figure out why the check engine light came on AFTER our appointment at Tire Discounters. Turns out, TD left out a part to the engine. read more

Service took much longer than what we were told (which is extra challenging since we had our toddler with us), and they performed and charged us for a service that we had explicitly declined upon arrival. The service provided yesterday was great! The actual service experience has always been great, other then having to wait longer then I would like. However, this is the second time in less then a year that a tire has lost air. I purchased four new tires last November and have had two different tires go flat since then. The first was while it was parked at my office and they said it was a valve problem, this time it happened on I-75 at 70 miles an hour when the tire went flat. I just had the tires checked a few days before this so was shocked when the tire went flat on the road. I really hope this doesn't become a pattern. Thankfully I got the warranty so it didn't cost for the new tire, only the installation. (The first tire that went flat was repaired at no cost.) Overall they are very nice and very helpful, cost is reasonable and competitive, and they don't try to sell you more then you want or need. read more

I had an 1100 appointment , which I showed up 15 mins early for. It's now 20 after 1100 and my car is still not taken in. It's just an oil change. They have plenty of help and appear to be slow. No sense of urgency at all to service the customer. Only 1 other person has walked in since I've been here. Guess what he is waiting a well. Up date 1133 and they just pulled my car in. Stay tuned to see how long this will take to change the oil. 48 MINS once they got it in, so it takes 1 1/2 to get an oil change done here. read more

I took my car to a DIFFERENT TD location (as I was told by the Regional Manager) and the mechanic told me that my car needs new brake fluid (Flush and Refill). They quoted me $85 and couldn't be done for 3 hours. Very disappointed. Will not be using this establishment in the future. read more

I have been there 5 times in the last 8 months or so. Now let me stipulate that I have never gotten quick service at the counter and the last time I left after waiting about 7 minutes. The first time to get 2 new tires. All went well until about a week later. One of the tires started to lose air. I went back and I was told the valve was leaking and it would be $100. Ok. Went back a few months later and got 2 more tires for a total of 4. A week later both tires started to lose air. Went back on a Saturday but they were busy and I set a appointment for Monday. I walked in and no one helped, I could see no working and 2 employee's were making small talk. 4 new tires, 3 bad valves(or leaker tires) and absolutely poor service. Done read more

Nice staff, the place is too hectic. I had to get four new tires and after they were put on I had to return to the store everyday for a week to attempt to get the low pressure light off. They couldn't do it there and requested I go to their other store. I haven't been able to go yet to see if they can fix it there. Not what I expected after such a large expense. I first went to another tire discounters location (Beaumont) to buy my tires. I was leaving town in a few days and wanted new tires for my drive. The tires did not 'make it' onto the truck for the next day appointment for install so I left town without new tires. When I returned I again ordered the tires I wanted and they were not available at the original price (out of stock). I looked online and it said they WERE available so I printed out a QUOTE only to discover that it was a waste of paper. The Malabu location informed me the website and the warehouse can be 'out of sync' even though you input your location on the website to get a quote. They recommended a different tire and I scheduled an appointment for 2:00 pm Saturday. I arrived a few minutes early and was waited on quickly only to find out the rebate I was quoted two days earlier had expired and the tires no longer had a cash rebate and the mail in rebate (a total of $100). The service person worked with me a reduced the price by about $78 dollars total so I reluctantly said OK. Several other people (maybe 5) were waiting on their cars at this time. By 2:35 pm my truck was still outside. They close at 4 pm and I didn't want the techs to rush through the job so I requested my keys back and left after scheduling an appointment for the following Tuesday morning. On Monday I called a local independent shop (almost rhymes with cash) and they not only could get the original tires I wanted but they were more than price competitive. In addition they mentioned an upgraded version of the tire for my van with a higher load rating but the same tire overall. I went there to buy my tires and I am happy with my new tires. read more
