We had our Kia Sedona Van towed there since it was acting up - all "dummy Lights" (Check engine,…read moreetc.) were on. They determined that it was the Alternator & battery. After we drove away, the same thing happened a few days later. They checked things out again, made some adjustments and released the van to us. Again, the same thing happened again, so we had it towed to the Kia Dealer. The Dealer determined that the "After Market" Alternator was the problem and replaced it with a "Kia" Alternator, and things are fine now. This was an unusual problem, and they were very professional in how they handled everything. They agreed to reimburse us for the new alternator. Despite this problem, I would still do business with them and encourage others to use their services.

The…read moremechanic wanted to charge me nearly $900 for a part that I was able to find at a local auto parts store for less than $200. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but this markup felt excessive and unreasonable. As a customer, it's hard not to feel like you're being taken advantage of when the difference is that significant. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and pricing parts yourself before agreeing to any repairs here. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling like the focus was more on maximizing profit than providing fair service.

Update I am increasing my Meineke review from 1 star to 2…read morestars because they reached out to me and asked how they can make it right. They offered an oil change. I suggested the oil change (because they overfilled it), plus actually, you know, fixing the exhaust hole. They called me, unable to find the hole. I suggested they start the car and feel for exhaust. I hate that I, the non-mechanic, had to suggest that, but it worked and they found the hole. So they put a foil patch over it with a couple of clamps instead of replacing the pipe (See picture attached). So $800 gets a muffler, a bracket welded on, and a foil patch these days. It took three trips to Meineke plus one trip to another mechanic to fix the axle damage. Would I recommend them? No, no I would not. =============== My old muffler rusted through, so I went to Meineke to get it fixed. They did the work for a bit over $800 and sent us on our way. The car was still making a lot of noise, so we brought it back. They told us it was because the engine was low on oil and they topped it off and sent us away again. Now the oil is about an inch above the full line and it was still making all the noise. I took it to another mechanic and looked at it myself while it was on the lift. The picture of what I saw is attached. The muffler mount was rubbing directly against the rear axle. It wore through the metal clamp that held the boot in place. My mechanic bent it away from the axle and zip tied the boot back in place. That took care of 3/4 of the noise. The rest was because of a hole in the exhaust pipe about a 18" before the muffler. Next on my to-do list is to buy some replacement pipe and suction out some oil. This is basic stuff at a premium price and they couldn't even get it half right. I'm not impressed. I've attached a pic of the work, including the welding that looked like it was done by an amateur.

My wife brought our car in because the passenger side window wouldn't go up or down. We were told…read morethe master switch panel was bad and needed to be replaced. After the work was done, the passenger window still didn't work, and now the driver's side window doesn't work either. We paid $850 for the privilege of having them make a second window inoperable. When I raised this concern at the counter, the gentleman working there became noticeably defensive about questions regarding their decision making, specifically, why an expensive switch was replaced without first confirming there weren't other problems. I was frustrated that the car not only wasn't fixed, but came back in worse shape than when we dropped it off. This is a classic case of replacing a part and hoping for the best. No real diagnostic work. No accountability. Terrible customer service. I'm filing a charge-back and considering further remedies.

I've been a customer here for several years, but an inflated estimate has me looking elsewhere…read moregoing forward. Got a timing belt estimate here that came in at just over $4,000, more than double what two other shops quoted me for the same job (around $1,600 each), and neither of those quotes lumped in unrelated work. A few things left me scratching my head: Spark plug replacement (~$520) was bundled into the timing belt job automatically, just because it falls at the same mileage interval, not because it was requested or related to the actual repair. An "Inspect Valve Lash" charge ($253.90) was billed as a separate labor line, despite overlapping with the teardown already being done for the belt job. A "Convenience Fee" ($112.89) was added on top of a separate "Job Supplies" fee ($86.43). I have no idea what these charges would consist of. Parts pricing on the spark plugs and water pump came in noticeably above typical market rates, even accounting for OEM brands. This is a genuinely expensive job on this engine (considering my car is over 21 years old ), and I don't have an issue with using OEM parts. But between the unrelated add-on work, the inspection charge, and the stacked fees, a significant chunk of this estimate had nothing to do with the actual timing belt repair. Their estimate had an option to text with questions. I send some questions for clarification four days ago and I have not heard back. After years of bringing my vehicles here, this estimate has got me shopping around for a new regular shop. Something has changed. I hope betting $2400 at the risk of losing a long-term customer was worth it.
