This is the only wood burning location that I have heard of. I like that Tipsy Paint has this unique offering. They also have paint nights and other types of classes. I signed up for one design but they are very flexible on what designs you do when you are there, you just have to use the board you signed up for. They also have lazy Susan classes. I saw that they previously did a Chicago bears logo class so I asked to do that and they printed me the picture to trace. The class was 3 hours and it took us the whole time. You have to be patient when wood burning. I really liked my final art! We were provided with instructions on how to take care of it and washing instructions so we can use it with food. I like that it is BYOB! The owner, Krystina, led our class. She was so friendly, patient, and provided great instructions. I'm addicted to wood burning! I will definitely be back! read more

I know I've been here a few times already...maybe just never had a chance to review. This is the best spot for a fun girls night out, birthday party, or group activity. Great for adults and kids, anyone can have a good time here. You can bring your own food and drinks, which makes it even more fun! We brought lots of wine, rosé, beer and bites to enjoy while painting. Krystyna is so sweet! She gave everyone a lot of time to get through their work and allowed people to be free and creative. I'm going to try the pyrography next time. You can bring your own design and basically burn it into the wood. Sounds fun! read more

We had so much fun painting here on a Saturday! We arrived at 7pm and parking was full. ( Doors open at 6:45PM for 7:15 classes). I would advise to get there a little earlier. And obviously only the back seats were left but that was fine. We had a full class of 45-50 students. It can get loud. Plus it is BYOB =) We had 2 instructors. Krystyna and Jim. They were wonderful. Jim was the primary instructor but since we had a big class, Krystyna would walk around and see who needed help and also compliment/comment on our paintings. Initially, i thought what we were going to paint was going to be hard. But the instructor was great in explaining the steps and guiding us through the process. If you are like me and don't draw or paint, you will do fine! My friend who i went with does a lot of shading, coloring, and painting on a daily basis so her painting was very creative and unique. Oh! And everything is provided for you. All you need to bring is beer, wine or whatever you wanted to drink. The paintings underneath the big clock are all for sale for $10 each. I think those are great for office decors, kids room etc... If you are thinking about giving this a try, you can check on Groupon for discount pricing. Once you purchase the groupon, go on their website, click on CLASSES (top tabs) , find the painting you would like to paint, click on that. It will then bring you to the registration page. I attended a BYOB pyrography wood burning class here and had a great time. At first, I was a bit intimidated at the design process, but once our helpful and encouraging instructor got us going, the whole experience was fun and therapeutic. The pyrography tool can get pretty hot, especially at the handle, so I would be more careful next time when holding the tool during the class. I think I developed a tiny burn or sore on my finger which I didn't realize until later. I loved the outcome of my piece and they even gave us a hook to attach to the backside of it in case we wanted to hang it. read more

Awesome spot for a fun night out! Came here two weeks ago with my mother for a mother-son night out and we had a blast. We had a good amount of time to complete our painting and a average sized canvas. The instructor was good. He gave good suggestions and helpful instruction. My friends and I attended the wood burning charcuterie board class, and I cannot recommend this class enough!! This was well worth the coast, and we had an amazing time! Krystina, the instructor and business owner, is such fun company, very patient, skilled and informative. I was impressed with how flexible she is with instructing different skill levels within the class. Krystina also went above and beyond for us for staying later than planned. We spent 3.5hours wood burning! she did say most people spend about 2.5-3 hours. I also loved how students can customize their charcuterie board. She has all sorts of stencils to choose from, and can even create your own for no additional cost. Krystina also went above and beyond with discussing how to properly care for our charcuterie board and even gas us a special cloth and oil to protect the wood to take home with us! Before taking our board home, she also sprays it with a food safe protective spray. My favorite part about this charcuterie board....you can use this as a cutting board too! read more

We recently hosting our team holiday lunch / activity here and had a fabulous time! Krystyna was a phenomenal host and teacher. We spent the first hour relaxing and enjoying food we delivered to Tipsy Paint. Then, we spent the next two hours creating our own custom pyrography designs - it was so cool. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to explore out of my comfort zone and tried something I thought I would never do again.. paint! I've had art classes when I was younger but nothing to show for so I was a little bit nervous and also skeptical about how my work would turn out after seeing everyone else's drawings on the wall of the studio. No. 1 tip: bring a cooler for your drinks if you like it cold because they don't have a fridge. Well, they do but it's not working. This is a fantastic idea. Who needs to go to a crowded and douchey bar for a girl's night and a drink, when you can paint and drink good wine all to yourself for cheap! This was so much fun! I know the most complaint this place get us the waiting time to start but I was here 30mins earlier than my group was supposed to come. Went on a Friday night, scheduled at 7pm. They opened the doors at 6:45pm and we didn't start painting till maybe around 7:15 to 7:30 pm. Some would be frustrated BUT, when I was there they had a session before our class and the people would not leave even though they had to go by 6:30. So the staff couldn't clean up and set up for the next class. Btw, the next class was floor 52 people and there was only 2 people working. Yah, not so easy. Anyways, if you're going to be impatient about starting, I suggest you bring 2 or more bottles of wine because you'll need it. And secondly, calm down you're here to paint. Artist don't rush the process of creativity! Main point: this is fun, so everyone do it!!! Oh and the workers are very helpful at making crap look like masterpiece. What a fun night spent with my fiancé and a large group of people painting portraits of their dogs. The studio is surprisingly big. Kudos to Beth for handling a 15+ group of people on her own with some help from the owner, Hap. My fiancé and I both emailed a picture of our two dogs and Beth perfectly sketched our dogs on the canvas and gave us great tips from the stage. We were in such a big hurry to get there straight from work (in the city) that we forgot to bring our, "favorite beverage", hence the name. I think that would have helped us ease up a bit when painting. Nonetheless, we had a great time. We were complemented greatly on how great our portraits came along. I would like to come back for one of the other classes sometime soon. :) read more

Tonight was my second time going to Tipsy Paint and I can't say enough good things about it! The owner, Hap, was so easy to work with and made it a customized experience. The first time I went with my Mother-in-law and my sister and the second time was with a group of girlfriends. The studio is so cute and very conducive to talking and interacting with your group as well as seeing the instructor clearly and being able to paint. I went in with ZERO artistic talent and came out feeling like a full blown artist. Both paintings are actually good enough that I have put them on display in my house. I was not expecting that. Both instructors were totally different but both were AMAZING!!! They were so hands on and helped our whole group with any questions and let us make the paintings our own. I can't think of a more enjoyable group activity or a greater present for even the most finicky recipient. I bought a 2 for 1 deal on plumdistrict.com and wish that I would have purchased dozens more. I will definitely be going back and bringing all my friends with me. read more

I went to Tipsy Paint for the second time yesterday evening with 2 friends, and we all had a blast! We all bought groupons, so for $19, we were given all the supplies we needed to paint a lovely picture (mason jar and fireflies). Our teacher, Lindsey, was great. You really don't have to have any painting abilities whatsoever to attend these classes. The instructors teach you step by step how to make the painting. Both paintings I;ve done look great. They are also really flexible. Originally, our painting was supposed to be on 2 canvases. When we called to see if we could just do the one painting with our groupon, the owner didn't hesitate to agree. The space itself is pretty and has all the old paintings of art they've offered on the walls. As everyone else has mentioned, this place is BYOB. They have glasses, a fridge, and a corkscrew - all you need to enjoy your wine. We brought snacks too - cookies and cheese and crackers. Our class wasn't full, so we had space to spread out. You might not if the class is sold out. Overall, we had a wonderful night. We all plan on heading back soon. read more

What a fun creative night! I found out about tipsy paint through a groupon. It's a 3 hour painting class guided by an experienced artist who is the instructor. At first glance when you walk into the studio there are a lot of paintings on the walls, and if you are like me and can only paint stick figures you'll feel like there's no way you can create anything other than lines and dots...haha. Well I'm glad I was wrong. Our instructor was great! He shows you step by step how to paint circles if you need to by using your thumb and middle finger as a guide (very scientific way of drawing a circle ha) but it totally worked. Then he shows you how to create different color shades, by mixing colors together to make the illusion of fading or exaggerated colors. He continues the step by step process until your finished product actually really does look like a work of art! It's definitely a class to take if you want to relax, unwind, and do something different. It was very fun. Great for an individual, couples, or groups. read more

Came here with friends on a groupon. The reservation process was VERY easy - you can do it all online. Was happy about that. We got there early, as advised on the website - and from there on it was really disorganized. we started an hour and a half late due to some error in booking a big party or something - and they offered us an apology with a reduced price for another class. Despite the snaffoo that made such a delay, we were there 30 min early, and after about 30 min of supposed start time, they were STILL setting up. Seems like staff should get there ahead of time and do this. Espeically since everyone is pre registered you have an idea of how many people were going to be there. This class was packed to the door. All in all though, despite the late start time and disorganization - once things finally started getting going it was pretty fun and they teach in a way that everyone feels like they can succeed at the class. I do wish that they offered more abstract type of paintings to do. I feel like in this setting some of the things they have you painting need to really look like what you are painting (faces, buildings, etc) so with more abstract things, people can be creative and still have something that looks really great b/c its not "supposed" to be something. I shortly took a class at pinot's palette and enjoyed WHAT we painted alot better. This place was great though b/c you can bring your own drink and food. Tipsy paint - it is exactly the its name. All you have to do is bring your choice of drink and everything else is provided here: the glasses for your drinks, canvas, brushes, paint, even the aprons. The art instructor was extremely helpful and patient. All the instructions provided was clear enough to follow for people who have no relations to art at all. The night that I went, there were about 30-35 people and the 'Instructor' did walk around the room, but didn't stop once to talk to my friend or to me. He had a few favorites, and while I didn't expect an art lesson, I had never attended this type of activity and expected at least some interaction with the class guide. The leader did work on his piece in front of the class but he went quickly, so that he could spend time with individuals -- his favorites. I love this place. I love the staff members. I think they are super patient with their students. I have gone here a couple of times and felt that I was well taken care of. There's plenty of room to put your things down and spread out and get comfortable. The paint brushes are of very good quality and I like that. Something else I enjoy is the fact that there are two finished portraits on either side of the instructor that are totally different and then he/she goes step by step through the process of painting.
