I usually don't have so many framing needs, but in the past month have brought them 4 paintings to frame thanks to a kitchen remodel followed by a basement flood. Each time I've visited I've been the only person there and they've been super helpful in choosing a frame that works with my budget and color scheme. It takes about 2 weeks for them to frame something so I was a little worried when I didn't hear from them for a month after dropping off the first painting. I called and they mentioned they had a typo in my phone # and had trying to be in touch. The framing is beautiful and I think fairly priced. Between their helpfulness and the convenience of being a few minute drive from my house I can't imagine going elsewhere for my framing needs.

I remember her buying it with such pride and then taking it to get framed- it was the first time I realized people valued art in that way. She kept it all these years, and just three years ago it came to me. Recently I brought it to The Custom Framer in Highland Park to be re-matted and reframed. From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable asking questions, even with my lack of design knowledge. The process was thoughtful, supportive, and deeply meaningful. This isn't just about framing art--it's about framing memories. I'll treasure this piece in my home and someday pass it to my kids. Highly recommend.

I recently went to this location after going to the location in Niles where the owner was curt,…read morecold and rude and where you could do none of the assembly of the frames yourself in the traditional way The Great Frame Up Stores were set up to do. I am an artist and need to have custom framing done in the most economical way in order to make a profit. I am willing to do all of the assembly of the frames myself in order to get the best value. The Northbrook location allows you to bring in used or "store bought frames" and they will assist you in providing whatever else you need like glass, mats, etc. and will charge you a shop fee of $4 per frame for you to assemble all of the components. This charge also includes the backing, hooks, wires, etc. They, of course, do any custom framing you may need as well. I worked with Paul and Margo and they were enormously helpful, accurate, accommodating and courteous. We framed about 10 pieces and the cost was nearly $1,000. It would been at least 3 times that at the location in Niles and would have have taken weeks for the work to be done. I will definitely come back to the location in Northbrook and highly recommend it.

I had two orders at this location and the first order was misplaced or lost by Andy for a week or so. Ok, accidents happen - I figured they'd find it. They did eventually. but Andy was SO RUDE on the phone. Second order was a triptych. 3 pieces in 3 frames. I showed Cheryl a picture of the finished 3 pieces as I wanted them framed. When I went to pick it up, they insisted I gave them one piece. I'm not sure how they managed to mess both orders up, but I had a heated call with Cheryl who just kept saying they never lose anything and that there was only one piece. A few days later, and no call, I decided to disassemble the frame and use it for something else. and - there they were.....They had stacked all 3 pieces as one in the frame. Don't bother with this place - I went 5 minutes down the road to Artist Frame Service. They were professional and didgreat work!
