Amid all of the negative reviews, I will focus mostly on the positive. My wife and I tried Tipsy Chicken because we were in the mood for Hot Wings and had recalled someone recommending this establishment because the Wings were large. So, seeking the most bang for our buck, we decided to give it a go. First Impression: Oh! This is actually a BAR! ...and Yes. I did feel quite naive for not having put two and two together, given the "Tipsy" in the name. That, my dear Yelpers, is called a "clue." Anyhoo... we stayed and made the most of the moment. My wife and I are on a keto diet again - or, at least we are making a best attempt - so, we both wanted a low carb beer choice. Sadly there was no Yuengling Flight or Corona Premier and neither of us drink Miller Lite or Michelob "Ultra" (yuck!)... so, we just went ahead and ordered a REAL "Bier" and opted for Heineken. We also both ordered Wings and a House Salad. My wife had the Mild Wings and I had half Cajun and half Damn Hot. The Bier was very cold which was a major plus. My wife, who is a low-level chilihead, said the Mild Wings were a five on the heat scale. I am somewhat of a high level chilihead and my Cajun Wings were about a two, to two and a half, while the Damn Hot Wings definitely hit a five. The Wings were good, although a tad bit overdone, with a couple of the flats having broken bones, which I know is off-putting to some eaters. Overall, I enjoyed the Wings. The house salads were plentiful and made with a mixture of greens with a LOT of crunch that was mostly from what I concluded was the carrots and lettuce pieces that were cut close to the head. Because the salads were served in oddly-shaped bowls and, because the Tipsy is dimply lit, it was difficult for me to see into my salad bowl. My wife, however, was able to see quite well into her bowl, and after catching some "movement" on the inside edge of her bowl, she retrieved a small fly that she believes was in the mixed greens. No Bueno! Our Server, Destiny, was very friendly, very pleasant and very attentive. Tipsy, while very musty and almost foul from years of cigarette smoking appeared clean and well kept otherwise. The restrooms were cleaned and stocked, just obviously aged. I may re-visit Tipsy Chicken again, but at this point I am not yet 100% decided. In case you are considering a trip to this "joint," here's some good info for you: Weekly Specials: SUN - Hamburger and Waffle Fries $4.99 (Cheese add $1.00) MON - Half Price Boneless Wings (aka: Chicken Nuggets) TUE - $0.99 Street Tacos (Beef or Chicken) WED - $0.50 Hot Wings (Hard to Beat That Deal!) THU - BLT Sandwich Special FRI - All You Can Eat Catfish $10.99 (Fries/Hushpuppies not AYCE) SAT - Chicken Fried Steak Special Eat Well. Be Well. Cheers!

I've been coming to Tipsy Chicken since it opened almost 10 years ago. Food is made fresh and is always delicious. One of my favorite are the cheese sticks. Drinks prices are the best around. Best dive bar around, good music fun environment. Karaoke every TuesdayThursday, along with pool tournaments. Service is great, definitely a good place to have a good time. I highly recommend going. Open until 2 every night.

Tipsy Chicken is your quintessential dive bar. Went here because it was one of the few restaurants open on the Fourth of July. Walked into a smoke filled room which took me back to the 80s when people still smoked inside. This alone was disgusting but I overlooked it to get some food and leave. I asked the bartender for an old fashioned and he told me he didn't have the necessary bitters to make one. Like what? How do you not have the ingredients to make a standard bar drink. After that I ordered a sprite and some chicken wings and waited on the outside patio until my food was ready. The chicken wings were okay but this place is definitely for dive bar enthusiast.

I had the worst day of my life back in December, so I strolled down to the local pub. As I came in the bouncer said, "the ladies need to talk to you." I thought well my luck is about to turn around! I followed him to the bar where I was belittled, berated, and emasculated by the bartender, meghan. She stated that I came into the parking lot at a high rate of speed (impossible if you knew what I drove), was seen swerving through the lot (I stopped to look into the window), then said that I failed to park properly and hit the brick wall with my vehicle (unfortunately none of this is true). She then went on with a few derogatory statements, mostly about me being a drunk and the like. She refused me service, referencing the policy to refuse service to anyone, claiming that I was already too intoxicated.

The wings are some of the best around. Anyone that gave this place negative reviews was probably either a trouble maker or a non tipper.

The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! I'm also glad they now offer two sides with your entrée for a small extra charge. The mac & cheese and green beans are both amazing. I've tried a cocktail or two, but usually skip them since the portions are small for the price. Overall, this is such a fun, charming spot with consistently great food. Definitely one of my go-to favorites! Add it to the Love List

Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!

Just had my first visit to Lava Hot Chicken and it did not disappoint…read more Such a great lunch spot--portion sizes are solid for the price, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. Jason ordered the Lava #1 (2 mild strips) and I got the Lava #2 (2 hot chicken sliders). The "hot" was more of a medium kick, while the mild still had great flavor without much heat--so definitely approachable for anyone easing into spice. I also helped myself get some mac & cheese since it was a cold and rainy day, but to be honest I probably would've gotten some mac & cheese anyways. Delicious! Also have to shout out Alex--super patient, helpful with the menu, and honestly just great service all around. He anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, which you don't see often. Really made the experience even better. And I have to add--I'm usually not a fan of crinkle fries, but these were actually spot on. We'll definitely be back!

New spot in Rowlett, TX behind the CVS at Dalrock Crossing Center…read more I tried the next-to-hottest level of spiciness, and not even as spicy as Chiloso's. Very polite & helpful counter staff if you are not familiar with their menu. For regulars, self-ordering is done on the screen on the counter. Take-out, or delivery boxes are sturdy, and sealed with a big sticker. A buddy gave me his coupon, I had never tried Lava Hot Chicken before. So, to get their new Hot Chicken Tacos.... You MUST purchase a #1, #2, or #3 Meal. I got the Sliders meal to go with the 5 tacos deal. Got home, everything stayed warm in these boxes, and the spiciness was not as hot as the hype! Good ingredients, good bite & chew on the white chicken meat tenders. Buns were soft, fries were a bit hotter than the chicken! Hot Chicken Tacos were decent, the flour tortilla had a nice texture, did not fall apart, easy to eat! I did not try the Maple Waffle fries, sounds delicious! Desserts are cold parfaits; crumbled Oreos & creme, or creamy Mocha BEERS in bottle or can, sold for dine-in only, must have ID. Sodas, juices, waters, and Ice slush drinks. The facility was spotless! Two very clean restrooms, locking, ADA complaint. Simple small tables for 4. Outdoor umbrella-covered small tables. The urban spray paint "art" theme is not seen around here, is very colorful. Parking situation is cramped with popular Chiloso's nearby, so be careful of others in a rush. 4 stars because of the narrow menu offering, BUT adding Cold Beers bumped it up to 5 Stars, well played!

This is just Louisiana Fried Chicken, you can see there is another entry in here with that name and the reviews are not nearly as kind. Service was perfectly fine, the place is small but seemed clean enough. There endeth the passable things. I ordered spicy fried chicken 3pc (LWT), red beans and rice and a pint of gumbo (holy trinity, chicken, sausage, crab and shrimp - more on that to come and it isn't good). Those are a trinity for me, if you will, when sampling and then judging Louisiana fried chicken places. So, Enter Sandman... I got food poisoning, which is an automatic 1. I don't like to give them out, but for extreme circumstances; this being one of those circumstances. The food: The fried chicken was not golden brown it was dark brown, which says old oil/grease. It was bitter, but edible. I ordered spicy, and if they consider whatever I got as spicy, they need to dial it up. I detected no spice. The lady at the counter asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said yes, but it didn't meander its way into my order. The red beans and rice... I don't know what kind of black roux they use and how hard they cook the rice for it to be this mushy. It smelled like it should be good, but I had to add my own Cajun seasoning and some Tobasco to liven it up, even still it was more of, "I paid for it so I'm going to eat it" at this point. Popeye's RB&R is WAY better, and that Popeye's on the corner isn't even a good Popeye's. Now what I believe to be the criminal, the file seafood, chicken, sausage (note I didn't say Andouille, because this was straight up garbage Eckrich). It was a pint, and it was almost black (me assuming because they made a file gumbo, now I'm not so sure). It was packed with a thick mush of *mostly*, onion, celery and green pepper. Scattered among them were stringy pieces of boiled chicken, 2 or 3 pieces of sausage, I did not identify if there was indeed any crab in there because I never saw it and two soggy ass fried shrimp on top. I should've just tossed the whole thing in hindsight. I did pitch the shrimp. I didn't trust how they looked. I dumped the pint (it had that odd colored overcooked rice too), i added quite a bit of water, brought it to a boil, reduced to simmer. I had to add seasoning to this as well as some tobasco. I ate about 1/3 of it or so, then just pitched the rest. *a few hours later (said in that French accent you're now reading it in)* I'm pounding Nauzene, and pounding the toilet. Let's say, oh... about 8 -9 hours? The easiest way to explain how long. As the very unpleasantries began, I put on John Wick, I watched all 4 before finally being *done* and able to go to bed about 0500. Suffice to say, I will not be back. I give this two thumbs down and a raspberry.
