You definitely should try their corti bros special. They get to decide what meat you'll get for the day. Definitely would come back for a loaded sandwich that's under $10. The parking lot can be chaotic because it gets busy here.

Once your selections are made place the paper on a small black plate at the end of the counter right next to where you filled out order sheet. I usually go with a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich with pepper jack for the cheese. They have all of the usual fixings expected at a deli shop. Just circle what you want and wait for them to call your name. What made the sandwich stand out was the generous portion size and the fresh bread. The Dutch crunch actually crunched!!! They have tables and chairs outside to the left of the entrance to sit and eat. The store opened in 1947 and the food was excellent. Will most definitely be back when I am in the town!!

They've mastered their bread, always fresh, crispy outside, and soft inside. They're generous with their fillings too. My all-time fave is the grilled pork banh mi. The pork is so tasty and juicy, levels above any of the other pork banh mis I've tried elsewhere. Their (relatively) new fish patty banh mi is also up there! Literally got 1 small grilled pork and 1 small fish patty today because I couldn't decide lol. You'll more than likely find a line here, but it moves fast and the wait isn't too bad considering how busy they are. Came right before the lunch rush on a Thursday and waited about 15 minutes for our food (6 sandwiches). It's a made-to-order takeout structure, so order and pay for any grab-and-go items at the register, then wait for your number to be called/displayed on the screen to pick up at the windows next to the register. There are tables on the porch outside and inside. This Sandwich Spot is located in an old house, so you have to go up steps to get into the shop. There isn't a ramp from what I can see. There is a gender neutral single person bathroom. There is street parking, you will probably have to parallel park. Pay attention to the signs so you don't get a ticket. If you're in the area, you should stop by Sandwich Spot, you won't be disappointed.

For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. WOW, East Sac is an amazing place full of incredible food that beats suburban South Bay food any day. Selland's has an amazing array of hot and cold food to select from made fresh for their customers. Seating is comfortable and meals are affordable. Order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Your food is brought to you. Water is self service as are utensils. Give it a whirl; parking may be a challenge but just be patient and you will be rewarded with your dining experience here.
