I did an acrylic/gel mani and "service 1" pedi. Now granted I'm from out of town and my expectations might be high but Ben's service and skill were lacking, colors offered are minimal and the customer service will not allow me to refer or revisit this parlor again I asked for almond shape nails. Many times I'd ask Ben, "what shape is this"? I finally walked away with a rushed job that left me with big bubbles and mis-shaped nails. I made an appointment at this salon today for a gel manicure at 11:30AM. I wanted to give this place a try since it's so close to home, and the Yelp reviews are all great. When I arrived, I signed in and I was told that even though I had an appointment, there would be a 20-30 minute wait. I was bummed about the wait, but I sat down anyways, and was instructed by a woman to pick a color. The gel color selection is very disappointing; there are not a lot of choices compared to other salons I've been to. I was shown (3) rectangular boards with a few selections on each. I picked a color and began to observe. This salon is very small, it looked much larger in the pics on Yelp. The woman that told me to pick a color was busy working on someone's nails, and there were (2) other technicians doing pedicures, and then there was the guy that greeted me when I arrived. One of the guys giving one of the pedicures, seemed really tired. He was struggling to remove the dead skin from his client's feet, and totally did not want to be there. The man that greeted me had a giant hole in his shirt and also acted like he didn't want to be there. This place gave me weird vibes and I think the woman technician sensed my anxiety. She told me that she would be with me in 5 minutes to remove my polish and start my manicure. That's when I decided to bolt. I told her that I forgot something in my car and I left. This nail salon is a great addition to 40 42 in Garner! Tippi Toes is located right off of I 40 in a strip mall by Dairy Queen and Dominoes pizza. The red and white new sign in the strip mall and Now Open sign marks the grand opening rom September. Inside, there are new high-end pedicure chairs and counters with granite at the nail stations. The pedicure is $30 and includes a salt scrub. I came for a solar nail fill and was promptly greeted. The owners are very friendly and make sure you get the nail service you want. I'm only giving two stars because the girl who did my pedicure was so sweet. I have never paid more for a pedicure only to have the polish chipped after two days. Now, five days in, I have to go get my toes redone! Definitely disappointed and Mr. Sassy Pants thought his attitude was charming but clearly missed everyone in the place rolling their eyes. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! DON'T GO!!! I went to tippitoes with a friend earlier tonight and got there around 6:40pm. Before driving 30 min. ... We checked the website before going and it states there hours of operation for Tuesday is 10AM - 7:30PM. It also says stop by anytime they are open and that they are "waiting for you." When we arrived around 6:40 pm the lights were off inside but the "spa pedicure" sign was lit up in the window but the door was locked. The hours of operation on the door also stated they were open till 7:30pm. After sitting in the car for 5 min. a guy walks out the front door and locks it behind himself. I asked him why they were closed when it was only 6:45 the hours of operation stated they were open till 7:30pm. He stated they were slow and they weren't going to stay open waiting around for people with nothing to do. I asked him why they didn't post it anywhere stating that they were closing early because I just drove 30 min. He said it's not his fault that I didn't call to make sure they were open and that they've been closing early on Monday because they have been slow. I SAID WELL ITS TUESDAY - and your hours of operation everywhere say your open. Needless to say I will not go back. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. read more

I went on a Tuesday and the store hours show they are open until 7:30. I work night shift so I have to sleep during the day and got there between 6:30 and 6:45. What I thought was enough time before closing. When I got there they acted like I was a burden coming in general. But reluctantly decided to go ahead and do my nails. Now when they were actually doing my nails they were nice and talkative. But they did my toes and fingers at the same time and I don't mind that so they can get done sooner but at the same time I felt like the man doing my finger nails was rushing so fast that he didn't do as good of a job as he could have. I paid for a dip manicure and I didn't get motioned or hand massaged and as soon as he finished with my nails one cracks bc he didn't coat them very well. I was in here yesterday for a pedicure with no appt. I was taken right back and chose the second level of service, which was $37. Pricey compared to what I was used to, but it was soooooo worth it! So i walked in at about 10:40am asking for a fill set the owner told me it was gunna be able 20 mins they were busy. Mind you there was only 3 other customers in there and i said okay i will wait. Didn't get in the chair until about 11:30am. To start off the gentleman cut my real nails without asking me, then continued to put my tips on. I told him i want them the length you will not charge me extra for long nails he said okay. He tells me it's $50 for everything acrylic with gel polish, i said idk how it's so much money my nails are not that long!!! The female owner turns around and screams your nails are long that's why it's $50! I said my nails aren't long but i will pay since they are already on. Let's back track to 3 weeks before today i went here to get a fill in my nails were much longer then what they are now and they still charged me $50 for a FILL IN! I could understand them charging me $50 the first time but to come back and they charge me the same price is ridiculous. I just wanted to say this nail salon is amazing! I was in town from Texas and needed a French dip asap...Shawn did my nails the best I've ever had anywhere. Up until the lady who did my nails was getting all frustrated because she didn't understand what I wanted. I simply explained and she continued to be rude and kept making comments on how "long" it was taking. It just kept adding up between her making comments, and being rude. My mother wanted to treat my 5 year old to a Christmas and birthday surprise manicure and pedicure. We could not have been happier with the experience. The workers were super friendly and made a big deal out of our girl. She loves her tiny candy canes and Christmas tree toes! Clean, comfortable salon and reasonable prices. Very dissatisfied. Shortcuts taken. Service asked for not rendered. Messy polish job. I will not be back. Nail acrylic dust strewn all over my clothes. These people open up nail shops, build clients, even work for other nail salons, open up a new nail salon and take those clients with them. I think this is the third nail salon I know of they've opened up and then sold. Plan to spend a fourth of your day as they are under staffed! read more

Very disappointed, not sure how this place has 4 stars. I gave this place a second chance, hoping it would be better. It was worse the second time. First time I went when it first opened. A lot of the technicians were late coming in. When they arrived they looked like they had been out partying all night. They were tired and grumpy looking. Quality of work is not good. For my second visit, I had regular nail polish and the technician asked if I wanted a gel top coat, I said yes, because I wouldn't have to wait for my nails to dry. When I went to pay, the guy told me they couldn't guarantee their work because of adding the gel top coat. I shouldn't be penalized because I was not informed before getting the gel top coat. When I got home the gel polish began to peel. I will not be returning. read more

been here before. typically their services are great... as are the people working there ! But earlier i had walked in for a full acrylic set. i was then sat with a man who's was going to do my nails. i had showed him the shape i wanted and he instantly rolled his eyes and now let out a huge sigh. as he got started, he would constantly sigh, cough without coving his mouth, and roll his eyes once again.... as he was using his tool to sand down the almost-finished acrylic set, he processed to mess up and cut the sides of my fingers multiple times. by accident i am sure, but still hurt really bad. was bleeding a lot. the blood from my damaged fingers had gotten not only on HIS hands, but the equipment as well. i went ahead and let him finish the set. he still charged me FULL PRICE even though the end product was definitely not what i wanted.... very uneven and a completely different shape. i did not have the time nor energy to argue.... was sitting at the desk letting my polish dry when he instantly called the next customer over to his station. keep in mind my blood had contaminated everything including his hands. i was watching closely and not once did i see him even get up to wash his hands. again!! most times i've gone to this establishment i have been very pleased ! most everyone is very polite and they make you feel very welcomed. but this man named LEE was the very opposite. not only did he have a rotten attitude, but he did not take pride on his work! this is the last time i will ever come to this place... read more
