This location is centrally located and running at full tilt often. Add a delicious boba bar next door and this place aims to stay busy. That said, I've gotten 2 of the best pedicures I've ever had. More detail? The massages are 8/10. What makes them great is the techs listened to my needs for nail shaping both times. This is a big deal when you have something that bothers. Will keep coming back while I'm in this area.

I flinched in pain 3 times and every time I did that, he looked annoyed. I finally told him that it's hurting me and then he used a drill. Bottom line is he wrecked and ruined my real nails to the point that I needed to take an ibuprofen and soak my nails in an ice bath. I'm nice, never complain, and I tip well. I would've let it go but I'm tired of being quiet. He put the oil on my nails at the end and didn't even rub it in or anything. So I have one hand dripping with oil while he's waiting for the other hand to finish with the uv light. No big deal, right? Then when I thanked him, he didn't respond. Nothing. Not you're welcome, have a nice day, not a word. Really??? Been coming here for 5 years and today will be my last. Even after all that, I still tipped 20%. Then later when the pain hit, I called the shop and asked for my tip money back. I'm not going to be treated like crap anymore. Kevin is rude and has no personality. But hey, customers are a dime a dozen, right??? Well, so are nail shops. It's a shame because there are nice people who work there, but Kevin is not one of them. Treat your customers better, especially your loyal ones.

I was so sad to see Lisa go because she had been doing my nails for almost a year, but Tony has made the transition wonderful. Tony is patient, kind, professional, and always willing to do whatever I ask. He also makes suggestions for other services that might make me feel good, relax, and enjoy my spa day. He's always telling me, "Get a pedicure--you'll like it!" I love that about him. He is also incredibly talented and creative with nail art. I've even watched him stop to help his mother when one of her clients asks for a special design. I don't mind at all because that is simply Tony's nature--if he can help, he will. I recently started getting Cat Eye nails, and I absolutely LOVE them! Once other people started noticing and complimenting my nails, I really realized just how beautiful they looked. They also hold up wonderfully until it's time for my next set. I left the salon today feeling GREAT with my newest set: pink Cat Eye nails for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with Tony's extra signature touch--a beautiful white ribbon on my ring finger. They are gorgeous! So YES, I HIGHLY recommend Tony--five stars all the way! When you go in, ask for Tony. He's right near the front door with that big smile! Thanks, Tony! Until next time! -- Cheryl

I stopped by today Wednesday at 1pm for a manicure and pedicure and was told in a snarky tone that they were too busy to help me today because they only had 2 people working and that it was prom. High school kids were still in school so I'm gonna guess prom really wasn't why they couldn't see me on a Wednesday at 1 pm. I would have been happy to wait .... Disappointed. Surprisingly, the more upscale spa by Harris Teeter was happy to see me- only had a 10 minute wait. Prom didn't keep them too busy to welcome a new customer. This other salon was much more clean and more spacious than Day Dream. The staff were also more friendly and helpful.

So I got on the internet, did some research and decided to take a chance on Clayton Hair Salon. The things that I liked about it was that it wasn't like some of the other Clayton Salons that are "tragically hip" and you pay for the atmosphere, and also it didn't seem to cater towards small kids or teens. All I want is a great haircut for a fair price. And I am so pleased that I found it! I must also say that one of the reasons I chose Clayton Hair Salon is I saw on the website that their Manicurist is Becky Gordon, and she had done my nails at another place a few years ago and she is AMAZING. So that settled it, I called and made my hair appointment. Kristty was everything I was hoping for and more! Her shop is in an adorable old historic-style home in Clayton's beautiful little downtown area, and there is plenty of parking available. She took me on a tour and every room was done very professionally. She offered me a drink but I had brought one in. She was easy to talk to and understood exactly what my hair needs were and she gave me some great advice that I'm still using today. I even called her back a couple of days after my appointment to tell her how happy I am with my cut. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing Kristty again!
